Newcastle Have Little Chance Of Getting Lukaka

If Chelsea fo finally decide to let Romelu Lukaka leave the club this summer, then Everton were always going to be in with a very good chance of being able to attract the Belgium International striker to Goodison Park.

Romelu Lukaka scores against Newcastle last season

One reason for that is that is he had an excellent stint  on loan at the Toffees last season, when the 6’3″ striker scored 16 goals in just 33 appearances and helped Everton finish in 5th place, 7 points behind 4th placed Arsenal.

And news today that Everton are readying a £20M bid for Romelu, and that could well become a successful bid. for the young striker.

Which brings us to Newcastle, who need at least one top proven goalscorer brought in before the end of August, and preferably two strikers to make up for the loss of Loic Remy, Luuk de Jong and Shola Ameobi, who all left in the summer – and we have since brought  Siem de Jong and Emmanuel Riviere to Tyneside.

But we would find it hard to believe that Mike Ashley would bid £20M, even for a young and established Premier League goalscorer like this Belgium youngster – who only turned 21 in May and surely has a great career ahead of him.

But that’s what it will take for Newcastle to be able to challenge in the transfer market to get Lukaka on Tyneside.

In Premier League games for Chelsea, West Brom and Everton, Romelu has played 86 games and scored 32 goals – so he can do the job in the Premier League.

But we just cannot see Mike Ashley bidding anywhere near £20M for Lukaka, which is why we think the chances of him arriving at Newcastle are minimal – at best.

We wish we were wrong on this, but Mike Ashley will likely go after cheaper options than Lukaka this summer.

What do you think?

I cannot see Everton bidding £20M either for Lukaka!

…what’s happening to Remy’ supposedly move to the bindippers? it is taken as long as Wenger to sign him 😉 lol

Newcastle have shown no desire to sign Lukaku, haven’t bid for Lukaku – so the headline is absolutely right 🙂

I’d be quite surprised if he did go to Everton permanently, much less us. Wouldn’t his agent be capable of drumming up better options for a top young talent.

have read a few interviews with lakaku over the last season or 2 he strikes me as quite smart and has a plan for his career and wants to reach the top

not sure us or everton will be high profile enough for him 32 goals in 66 I am sure the top teams across Europe are looking
not so sure Chelsea would sell to everton as they are a top4 contender last year with him where will they be with out him

I hope he stays in the prem though

Ed it’s LukakU not LukakA 😉

I wish we could sign this lad or Man Ure’s Hernandez.

If the club are serious about their comments of challenging for the Champions League then we need a signing like Lukaku. We will wait and see.

Lukaku would be my dream signing. He possesses everything to be a number 9 legend. 20m would be a great investment.

See everton are also after atsu on loan. Another good move.

We have never been linked, never shown an interest, and would never offer the wages which the player would demand ?

Love us to get him but it is just not going to happen?
He,ll probably end up at Bayern Munchen, Barca or Real Madrid, PSG or Monaco?

Who says, Chelski want rid anyways ?
