Red Devils Winger Could Be Good Acquisition For Newcastle

Louis van Gaal has said he will wait until maybe late August before deciding on the future of former Crystal Palace star winger Wilfried Zaha, who is still only 21 years old.

Wilfried Zaha – could be good acquisition for Newcastle

Wilfried has not  seen any action in the two games Manchester United have played on their current tour of the United States, but van Gaal has been quoted as saying he will give Zaha a chance.

“I have a lot of strikers and I have already said we have no balance in there.”  “Maybe the next time I can use Zaha, but he is working good and doing all that I demand.”

Newcastle were interested in the player while he was at Palace, with Alan Pardew very interested in bringing the player to Newcastle, but he joined the Red Devils 18 months ago for around £12M, but he will be available for a lot less if he is sold this summer.

But he had a terrible season last season – as did a number of other United players – and he played only 4 times for David Moyes’ team  before going on loan to Cardiff City in Jnauary, where he played 11 times – so he will be looking for a lot more playing time next season.

One piece of news doing the rounds is that the attitude of the 21-year-old has worried the powers that be at the Manchester club – especially his performances in training.

But there’s no way of knowing whether that’s true and could be a slight against the youngster.

Alan Pardew has said Newcastle are ready to bring in more players this summer, but he has also stressed hey have to be the right players – and at the right price.

One of those players could turn out to be Zaha, and at say £6M he could be a decent buy for the club, and this lad has undoubted creativity and skills on the ball – a type of player who would excite Newcastle fans.

We think he would be a decent acquisition for Newcastle United.

What do you think?

I like a midfield of a classic #8 and #6 that is why I am not so keen on partnering Colback with Tiote. Colback seems to be a #6.

…but will reserve judgment (or I am just going to have to listen to Belfast again)

I don’t think this kid is going to make the big times…no more Utd rejects unless they will take Obertan back and give us an apology for taking advantage of our coach’s dumpassness!

colback and tiote can be key for us especially as it’d reduce the workload for our flair players, sdj n cabella, who’l benefit from having 2 terriers cleaning up after them.

But the downsides might be they are all work and no play!

…they need to create something ad well. Neither of those two are very technical and passing is not their strong side.

Would prefer Sissoko to partner Tiote. A secondary lineup could be Anita and Colback

We don’t need Zaha – we have Cabella, Sissoko and hopefully Aarons.. And if he has a bad attitude in training we don’t need another one like that either – we already have Ben Arfa. I see us lining up in a 4-4-1-1
    Janmaat Willo Colo Haidara
    Sissoko Tote Colback Cabella
    De Jong
Lukaku (I wish – more likely Riviere)

I think we could do a lot worse than zaha, I think he’s worth taking a punt on.

My fear is that we’ve done our business now. Everything seems to have gone quiet on the transfer front.

We desperately need a top striker and cb but there doesn’t seem to be any available in our price range.

It wouldn’t be disastrous to get zaha as winger/striker to add to goufran, rivière and cisse.

I loved your post prom a few articles back and agree with everything you said. Very well put.

Zaha we wouldn’t get many games for us either. Sissoko is nailed on for the right side, especially after his WC showing.
Not saying that’s right or wrong, or whether I agree with it. Just think that’s what will happen.

It’s blatant our priority is a striker and CB.

Do we need yet another midfielder?
Zaha has,nt impressed since he made a step up into the prem,so what makes you think he,ll do the Business for us?

After the Ben arfa tribulations, good hard working characters should be a priority. Especially if we are backs against the wall, losing. That’s when the training and the hard work pay off
