Tiote, Satka, Armstrong And Perez All Start At Hillsborough

sheffield wednesdaynufc emblem

Alan Pardew has just announced his side to play Sheffield Wednesday tonight at Hillsborough, and the fourth pre-season game for Newcastle kicks off at 7:45 pm BST.

This is the starting eleven for tonight’s game in a 4-2-3-1 formation:

Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Rob Elliot; Lubo Satka, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara; Cheick Tiote (c), Mehdi Abeid; Gabriel Obertan, Adam Armstrong, Ayoze Perez; Emmanuel Riviere
Substitutes: Jak Alnwick, Remie Streete, Gael Bigirimana, Vurnon Anita, Haris Vuckic, Alex Gilliead, Jonathyn Quinn, Adam Campbell

This game will give Alan Pardew a chance to run the rule over some of our very best youngsters in Lubo Satka, Adam Armstrong and Ayoze Perez, our new signing from Tenerife, and Cheick Tiote plays his first game of pre-season, after having an extended break following the World Cup in Brazil.

And Yanga-Mbiwa gets yet another game in pre-season, this time at center-back and he will partner Paul Dummett, and maybe the manager is wondering whether he should keep Mapou on board for next season?

Mehdi Abeid again starts in central midfield alongside Cheick – and the French-born Algerian is getting a chance to stake a claim for a first team position next season – after he did so well at Greek club Panathinaikos last season on loan.

Promising French U21 International Massadio Haidara gets a chance to stake a claim for the left back position, and 17 year-old local lad Adam Armstrong also gets a start.

Youngsters Gael Bigirimana, Remie Streete, Haris Vuckic and Adam Campbell are on the bench for tonight’s game and could see some action.

Average, great post on the previous thread.

Pinocchio will be loving the distraction the new players bring in, so it distances him from the reality that a lot of people want him gone.

    P45DUE out.

Yep. We wouldn’t want the blog drifting onto other matters, heaven forbid we don’t all wallow in self pity over the manager.

he probably needs a rest. He played a big part in NZ and is just a kid. Hope to see him go to germany this weekend. He looks a decent prospect.

he is getting rested after the New Zealand tour, hopefully he is also being rested so he can play for the first team rather than this almost reserve team.

I would expect the CB’s to be Satka and MYM with either Dummett or Haidara moving to right back ?

This game is clearly to give some players a fitness boost, i wouldn’t be too concerned with positions. This is hardly going to be our starting 11 v citeh, is it? 😀

no but if satka is a natural cb and plays badly at rb might not be considered for much for a while

Sazzer….Pardew has probably been told he won’t get anymore players if someone doesn’t leave, so he has to make due with what’s got!

…had hoped this one would be gone by now!

although its looking more likely that 4-2-3-1 is the formation we are goijng to be playing this season with tiote and colback sitting deep and rivierre up top

It looks more like some sort of 4-4-2 rather than a 4-2-3-1 (then again coach d likes his players out of position…for some reason)

Is it 4231? I would assume looking at the line uo its more of a 343 haidara and gabby on the wings

I think it does make more sense that one of the LBs is at RB tonight. I don’t mind this in a “run out” game, which is all this is. Its about fitness and match practice.

Mark, nothing has changed though, I want him out.

Last competitive games were 14 losses from 20.

Even the new players have just replaces the ones who have left. We still need more players and a capable manager

Until then, Ashley is still doing the absolute minimum.

Barkel makes a good point 😀

Having dummet as LCB makes sense. Haidara is decent going forward. Again this is just a run out so its not a concern for me.

So, many want him out. EVERYONE knows this. All you do when you constantly repeat it here is lower the mood (completely unnecesary). Why? Do you think we don’t have the right to talk on here about ANYTHING unless we religiously chant for his head every other comment? It is a futile issue.

You have let your hatred of one man overtake everything else football related in your head, to the point where you can’t seem to enter any other debate. I think you would be lost. You now seem only capable of debating pardews flaws. Can you honestly not manage to stretch to any other topic?

Talk about what you want, just as I will.

I’ve already said that Cabella, Siem and Janmaat are good signings. Colback is squad padding. Perez is a hopeful. As was Amalfitano, Bigi etc.
