It does get a little crazy at this time of year on transfers – especially when Newcastle are involved – but there’s a huge rumor doing the rounds tonight that Newcastle are to meet with Loic Remy’s representatives tomorrow in London.
Loic Remy – Newcastle meeting with agent, QPR and player tomorrow?
We know it could be completely untrue but it’s from twitter account soccer sauce – and they report on all the breaking transfer news – and here’s the tweet that’s causing all the talk:
¨Just in:We understand Newcastle are set to hold further talks with #QPR and Loic Remy (and agent) tomorrow in London ¨
And it’s not too surprising there’s new news on Remy – whether it’s true or not – with Alan Pardew saying Newcastle were interested in getting Remy to Newcastle today in the local papers – after his proposed move to Liverpool broke down on Monday in Boston.
In our poll on whether fans want Remy at the club, at the time of writing – there are 60 % in favor of signing Remy and 40% opposed.
This is what Alan Pardew said about Remy this morning on BBC Radio Newcastle:
“There’s a lot of baggage in the way, but of course we are interested.” “He was a great player for us. I think Newcastle is a great place for him.”
We need somebody like Loic Remy signed – who is a proven Premier League goalscorer – and it could be that moving to Newcastle United is his best remaining option.
What do you think?

You love to talk out of your backside mate, I told you to check out the stats not 1 season where the lad spent most of it on the bench because Moyes was his manager:
Hernandez: 37 league goals in 101 games of which he has scored 23 goals in 48 starts, 53 off the bench.
FA Cup: 11 starts (2 off the bench) 6 goals
CL: 17 starts (11 Bench) 10 goals
League cup: 7 starts (3 Bench) 10 goals
Mexico 66 caps 36 goals
Remind me again how prolific is Remy? and QPR don’t even want the guy and neither does anyone else bar us
Hernandez is apparently wanted in Spain and Italy and currently plays for the most successful English club, for him it might have been more about winning and playing a bit part behind class like Rooney and RVP unlike the Remy who chose to play in front of 17000.

Comment #84Between Hernandez and Remy I would certainly pick Loic (of course I might be wrong). I feel his presence and the space he opens up can be very useful and add a lot of shine to the game of de Jong and Cabella. While I see Chicharito as a poacher and don’t expect him to contribute in many more aspects of the game than say Cisse (even if he does what Cisse does better).

I prefer Remy to Hernandez, its as simple as that. Not trying to convince anyone. Your statistics are all very nice and forfilling. Your opinion is taken on board.
Accusing me of talking out of my arse is a bit personal.

Comment #86Name a player that isn’t a ‘mercenary’ and I’ll name a thousand that are. At least Remy is honest about it, although if he signs permanently, I hope he makes adjustments to his game, like passing to teammates when they’re better positioned to score, as he really grated on me at times with his blatant selfishness and wastefulness, in the process of trying to inflate his reputation as much as he could, last season.

19 goals in L1 last season as striker/winger, 13 goals in Bundesliga this season as winger.
and he’s faster that Usain Bolt the first 30 meters and scored a goal at St.James Park as striker during the Olympics.

Comment #89As I’ve said before don’t won’t loic but comparing stats from someone playing at a top prem side compared to a bottom of the table side is daft.
That said I don’t think either would contribute massively would rather have a striker who can hold the ball up

I asked you to go away and look at the records and you quite blatantly posted 24 apps 4 goals etc to suit your argument, I may have come across strong and apologise for stating that you talk out your rear-end. That being said both are very different strikers but 1 currently plays for the most successful club in English football and the other….er QPR. Sorry for calling you that though mate
I find it odd that floppy chops doesnt want to keep him though any thoughts on that from anyone considering the amount its worth to stay up financially?

It may be that QPR need to get him off the wage bill, If they are going to survive in the Premiership they will need to be more prudent as I think they are in financial trouble aren’t they?

Comment #95@Dannitoon That’s all aloda crap …. He has a buy out clause anyway it’s something like 8.5mil or 11mil or somehting like that and the reason I know that is because 4 teams activated it a few weeks ago.. Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs/Us
His wage demands where far to high for Arsenal I think liverpool backed out of the deal because of that aswell Duno what happened to spurs and he turned us down because he though he was going to Arsenal or Liverpool…..So F him he has rejected us like 3 times now for money and comes running back when no one else wants him…He can go F the prick. We want loyal players not rapist.

I agree he has shown a great deal of discourtesy to the club and the fans. Hew is a little ball greedy on the field too, for the money with a little more on top there are better targets out there. And even if they are unproven in our league, we have to bring in a striker, for me Remy is not the man.

Comment #101Part of the problem is the apparent verbal and contractual assurances we seem to have give players to get them to sign, ie Cabaye, you’d think Debuchey also. Remy will want to be able to leave if a big club comes after him and he’ll demand guarantees. If he has a decent season and the chance is there, he’s off. I’m not sure there’s any way around that. Maybe we could get him for ten, with the 8 million get out clause and the 80 000 a week in wages, but that was too rich for Arsenal. Less than ideal, but we definitely need his goals.

Comment #102Remy doesnt want to come here. Simple as.
Does anyone know if Lacazette played fir Lyon last night? I know they won 4-1 and he wasnt amongst the scorers. It was a EL tie.
PEA had a lucrative contract with Dortmund and if he were to leave, it would be for something north of 20 million pounds considering length of contract, successful first season and original cost of 13 million. Ashley wont pay that.
Our forward options this season will be what we have currently with no more additiond

Comment #108Hernandez is a prolific goalscorer but doesn’t contribute anything else. He needs people around him creating chances with attacking football and whilst Pardew is manager that isn’t happening. Remy is a great player and whilst he is clearly a mercenary we are getting a little last minute so snap him up. I can imagine at least half the players we sign these days just see us as a stepping stone, we are proven selling club. Just sign Remy, a winger and start Mapou CB and we can look at a top 8 finish next season despite having Pardew as manager.

Comment #111I like the sound of this Bonnie Prince Charlie chap. Obviously has loads of flair and a bit of a lad so the lassies would like to see him in the toon. A sort of Scottish Ginola then ? I haven’t seen him play but could be a canny signing. Maybe we should look more closely at the Scottish market and not just France. Imagine… Willie Wallace on the wing, Robert the Bruce at right back and Braveheart as the new Central defender – nobody would get past him !
