Breaking News – Newcastle Win Race To Get Striker On Loan

There is news coming through that Newcastle United have agreed a loan deal with Shakhtar Donetsk for their 23 year-old Argentine striker Facundo Ferreyra.

Facundo Ferreyra

Facundo Ferreyra – coming on loan to Newcastle

Goal is reporting that Ferreyra has spoken with Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini, and the Newcastle captain recommended that he join him at St James’ Park, and not surprisingly we suppose, the 23 year-old has taken the advice of the 38 times capped Argentine International.

Newcastle are now ready to complete the loan move in the next few days, and the famous Tyneside club hope to confirm his arrival early next week.

Ferreyra is one of a number of Shakhtar Donetsk players who want to leave the club – either on loan or permanently this season – because of the fighting going on around the Ukrainian city.

And the loan deal will include an opportunity for Newcastle to sign the player permanently at the end of the season if he does well while on loan on Tyneside.

But this is not the end of Newcastle’s pursuit of strikers.

And it seems we are also after Loic Remy – whose deal to join Liverpool fell through last Monday when he failed his medical – and if the news is to be believed Newcastle are now in negotiations with QPR to get the player on Tyneside – either via a loan deal or on a permanent deal.

Great signing wonder how many games he can go without scoring a goal. P45DUE will have him covering full back quicker than you can say ‘Papiss Cisse’

    MORON.

If this really is true, it puts us in a better position in discussions with Remy

Repost – Just exactly how many players have we bought and then sold for a profit whilst under MA? Cabaye and Debuchy. Anyone else? Not sure that qualifies people to constantly whinge that MA buys only to sell at a profit. Most clubs do this – Arsenal have been like this for many a year. As far as replacing Cabaye we have SDJ and Cabella for creativity now. Janmaat looked great at the WC and im sure will fill Debuchy’s just fine.

Can only see us signing Remy now if Pardew plans to go with 2 STs, or Cisse will be offloaded near the end of the window as his injury clears up.

Grenier: “I have read a lot of things about myself recently. I have no problem with the club and have never missed a training session intentionally. There is no controversy and my intention is to be back on the pitch and competing as soon as possible.”
Doesn’t actually say anything about not coming here or lie…never missed intentionally – ie could be told to skip training with a move on. get back on the pitch – yeah but which one??

    BTW

Just thought I’d point this out, seems like we are replacing players once they left…eg Marv out on loan in comes Facunda on loan, out debuchy in Janmaat

Could Sissoko be off ski and in comes Remy?

    Goal.com says

According to reports this morning, AC Milan are plotting a double swoop on Ligue 1. Le Parisien claims the Serie A club are interested in signing goalkeeper Steve Mandanda from Marseille, while Corriere dello Sport says talks are under way with Lyon over a deal worth just under €10 million (£7.9m) for Clement Grenier.

Would anyone take Wickham, if he doesn’t sign a new deal he could leave for a reasonable price. If he runs down his contract, he’d be good on a free next summer.

OurToon – From what ive heard from Pardew is the same old one liner: that we can’t compete with the big teams and if they come in with a big offer we can’t force the player to stay. There is always a bigger fish who will come in and nab your players whether you like it or not. Does it matter if our owner likes it or dislikes this fact? Man Utd lost CR to Real. Arsenal lost RVP, Nasri, Cesc……endless in comparison to the Toon. In my opinion, Arsenal are more of a selling club (up until this season anyways!).

A rare appearance from Ciaran – with it being the summer vacation I thought you would still be in bed 🙂
I wouldn’t necessarily believe Colin but assuming this story is true I’ve never seen him play – is he any good? also will we still go after Remy?

I don’t think anyone is scouting in Ukraine! Seems more of an opportunistic signing giving the crisis over there. If he is good im sure we will have an option to buy clause.

    Yes I agree with you.

I said a few weeks ago, when I heard about his contract stalemate, that we should go for Wickham. He is young but experienced in the Premiership and has tremendous potential. His relocation expenses should be cheap !

Rivierre is supposed to be usefull as a wide forward too, so maybe we are planning to rotate our front men, not only from game to game, but actually in game too. If remy comes in, we know he can also drift out wide. We are in serious danger of having options here, lads. I am scared.

Tads…With his injury, Pardew may want to ease Cisse in at GK before moving him to RB, but yeah, we do have options.

Not sure what people are worried about. We’ve got more than enough…

i think there are a lot of unplanned trips to ukraine from scouts given the political situation. I think many of their clubs are going to be picked bare by teams grabbing players on loan who are wanting away from danger.

Loic Remy would be brought in to replace the loan deal that ended for Loic Remy mate.

Why would Sissokko (a midfielder) be sold and replaced with a striker?

We now have Riviere, Cisse, Perez and Ferrerya as striking options. Also Gouffran who can play there.

I’d be stunned if we sign Remy now!

    T.t.v.v.t

Look at the signings made, Cabella will either play rw or lw, Gouffran can play either wing and Rolando replaces hba

midfield is one area where we do have enough cover especially with Abeid coming in a long with Colback.

I think money generated from a Sissoko sale would be used to fund Remy deal.
