Youngster Already Impressive At Newcastle – Video

When Newcastle signed 20 year-old Ayoze Perez as out first singing in June it was said he would be one for the future, but in pre-season games Ayoze has looked a good player and scored an excellent goal for us on Wednesday night to win the game at Hillsborough.

Ayoze Perez congratulated by Anita after scoring at Hillsborough

And his form has not gone unnoticed by Alan Pardew, who has said he has been signed for now – so we should see Ayoze get some games in this coming season for Newcastle, and that would be good.

This is some of what Alan Pardew said to nufcTV immediately after the game on Wednesday night about Perez:

“Ayoze Perez has been signed for now.” “We know he has some development in his body , he is still quite frail compared to the physical specimens you have in the Premiership, but he has shown quality and had one great chance tonight which he finished in style.

“He has shown that in training, he has got real flair and I think he is a player our fans are going to like.” “Hopefully he will have more of an impact than we are hoping for…if that makes sense.”

Ayoze really did take his chance in style after excellent work by Gabby Obertan after 65 minutes fo the game on Wednesday night.

And Pardew said after the game that Obertan was the best player on the pitch – so that performance by the Frenchman will alert a number of French clubs to what he can do – although he’s been too inconsistent at Newcastle over the last three years, since signing on from the Red Devils for £3M.

When Ayoze got the ball and was clean through, he quickly looked up and in one movement put the ball into the back of the net – and showed some class in the way he scored that goal.

Here’s another chance to see his goal.

We hope Ayoze can make big strides next season – he’s certainly made a good start in pre-season.

Comments welcome.

Aye, but he is running out of options now, and i am sure the last club he wants to be at is QPR. He may lower his silly demands just to get away from them.

    Ibiza

Yeah i hrard there were 3 seperate clauses… 7 mill for CL, 11 for EL and 15 for anyone else. Madness!

I think what percy meant was “hopefully he has more of an impact than we EXPECTED”. Hes not the most grammatically accomplished man is he? 😀

Oh Alan, why oh why would you ask if that makes sense?

Markaccus…I get it being about not selling to direct competition, but it’s a bizarre one really. “Oh right, you have lots of money? I’ll sell to you cheaply then!” 🙂

I’m with you on that, Remy wanted a bigger club than us, couldn’t get it so he might now knuckle down and get on with impressing for us.

If anything he could be playing out of his skin to prove liverpool they were wrong and tempt an arsenal, psg, monaco, etc to come in for him.

Obviously we want him to stay, so would only take a permanent move so if he does leave we benefit with money.

I have no issues with that mate, we have good debates. I have no issue with greedy strikers I do have an issue when others set different rules for different players though. He could have passed more often but refused purely because he wanted to put himself in the shop window…fair enough, but most of you complain of doing what’s best for the team, Remy in my eyes is not and never will be a team player….could well be the reason why it’s only us going for him. Rodgers who prides himself and his teams on working together MAY have pulled out for this reason.

Although he did well last year he also came across as a self centered player who tarnished his reputation by choosing QPR over us in the 1st place. Why are QPR letting this goal machine leave? Can’t be to reduce the wages as someone pointed to earlier because they’ve signed Rio at 35 on mega bucks

He’s refused us twice and then refused to play for us in the final game, he was confident enough to dispell the Web of lies Percy was spreading by coming out and saying he wasn’t injured he asked not to play in that last game because he wanted to stay injury free for the world cup.

Also with Remy we shouldn’t be paying more than liverpool had accepted.

Does no one else feel that Riviere and Remy are very similar in the way they play/type of forward they are?

I was thinking he was 29 as well mate but had to recheck because of our principles. We’ve already spent 2m on him which was the loan deal now we are looking to spend 13.5m that’s 15.5m for someone who doesn’t really want to be with us.

Sage…. Ideally but remy had a release clause if a CL club came from him, so they’d only have to pay 8.5mil. QPR are going to try to get as much from us as possible, being a PL rival and all that

This is just how I see it, no proof as such.

Remy had a choice of us and QPR, he got more money, definite starts up front and a relegation release clause (looked like it was going to happen). Therefore he could stick himself in the shop window, score some goals, then move on for a low fee which would make him appealing to a lot more clubs.

With us he would have signed a long term deal as all do, doubtful for a release clause as we had just been stung by Ba’s and we had cisse as main man then so might have been out wide and less chance to score.

So ultimately he had more chance to impress and easier to get a move going to QPR, either way we were both stepping stones then and QPR was the easier one.

Now I think he has seen he can’t get his move, nobody coming in so going to the better club in terms of football/chance of higher league position/better quality players, etc.

I may be totally wrong and he went just for the cash, just an idea.

so pards think perez is frail compared to some well compared to some like drogba or lakaku he does look a bit small be he is a different type of player
just due to the natural demands of the league he will prob beef up a bit

he had this obsession with Ferguson when he first came in and tried to get him to balk up fergie kept picking up injury after injury
I hope this doesn’t happen again with perez

Perez is a very small lad, but look at when Ronaldo joined Man U…I hope they can bulk him up in the same way, as from what I’ve seen of him he could be of the same mould as CR7 with a bit of nurturing!! #dreamin
