Cabella, Sissoko, Armstrong And Perez Start For Newcastle

malaganufc emblem

Remy Cabella will make his first appearance in a Newcastle shirt this afternoon, as the former Montpellier winger is in the starting line up against Malaga CF this afternoon in Germany.

Moussa Sissoko makes his first appearance back after having an extended break after playing for France in the World Cup in Brazil, and young 17 year-old local lad Adam Armstrong again gets a chance in the starting eleven.

Rob Elliot is in goal with Tim Krul on the subs bench, and 20 year-old Ayoze Perez is in the starting line-up after his excellent winning goal last Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa keeps his place at right back with new signing Daryl Janmaat on the bench, and Steven Taylor and Fab Coloccini are again the central defensive partnership with 21 year old Massadio Haidara at left back.

Mehdi Abeid and Colback will play in central midfield once again for the Magpies, and both have performed well in pre-season.

It would be nice to get a fourth win on the trot, but the main thing is for the lads to put in a good performance this afternoon.

Newcastle  (4-2-3-1): Rob Elliot; Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Steven Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Massadio Haidara; Mehdi Abeid, Jack Colback; Moussa Sissoko, Adam Armstrong, Remy Cabella; Ayoze Perez
Substitutes: Tim Krul, Jak Alnwick, Daryl Janmaat, Paul Dummett, Lubo Satka, Remie Streete, Mike Williamson, Vurnon Anita, Cheick Tiote, Haris Vuckic, Rolando Aarons, Gabriel Obertan, Yoan Gouffran, Adam Campbell, Emmanuel Riviere

See Pardew is stitching up Mbiwa, setting him up for failure in favour of that Geordie caricature clown, Saylor.

Other than that, I’m happy with that selection, wasn’t far off what I’d predicted.

I think Mapou is quite capable of making a clown out of himself without Pardew’s help

good line up, we dont have another RB, maybee Mbiwa should play CB and Anita RB as Janmaat isnt match fit yet…Anita is there more comfortable than Mbiwa

    Afternoon mate
Like most im sure is the Cabella factor today. i hope people dont get to down if he has a quiet one as its his first game pre season
Will be interesting to see where he lines up in the team…. Maybe an inkling into his starting position for the new season.
Be good for morale if we can keep the winning streak going over the weekend.
Is there some form of trophy i presume at the end of the 2 matches ????

MYM reminds me a lot of Gallas, quick, can play along the back 4 to a certain extent but best posiiton is CB.

Its sooo frustrating, we have a potential top class player and he just needs time to play in his best position to get the pace of the game in England and he is being stuck at full back.

If we sold him we would not replace with someone who has the potential he has. colo made mistakes and took a season to get to grips with it here, countless others have done as well. Just give him a chance.

Mbiwa is playing at RB because Janmaat is not upto match fitness yet I assume.. and Satka is inexperienced/Anita is not as good defensively..

My point is mate he’s a liability and will cost us goals if they persist in playing Mapou in this slot. He was lucky to be on the pitch last match in new zealand as the same mistakes came back to haunt him

MYM is quick, reads the game quite well, is a good tackler and is right footed, I can understand why Pardew plays him their when we have no one else as he does have all the attributed to be a decent fullback, the biggest puzzler for me is why he does semm to struggle as much as he has in the past, by rights he shouldn’t, in the knowledge that he is decent at CB perhaps more games as a FB will in time aid his overall game, just a thought mind, but I am sure you can see my logic ????

Blubber tits is correct with that formation.

Want to see us play attacking, flair and overlapping full backs.

Want to see us sign Richards for £6m, he is class at centre back.

Saylor is liability too, year ago vs City, he showed that again…Willo is far too slow and Collo makes mistakes too…we dont have great CB in our team, Collo in form is, but we will see…and from other three Mbiwa is best option…I see it this way, but maybee S.Taylor catch some kind of form, when he was young…

I haven’t put the blame for ben arfa all on pardew at all. If you look at the the thread the article was from T.O.T.T

Ba was quoted as saying he didn’t like the ball being hoofed up to him, or to put it is his more eloquent gallic ” we do not play beautiful football”
