Here are the goals in todays match when Newcastle United more than made up for their poor performance yesterday against a good Malaga side, and Newcastle were 3-0 up until the very last seconds of the game when Schlake – the hosts of the tournament – finally scored – with the last kick of the match – actually it was a header.

Given that Sporting Lisbon want £12 million for Rojo I think you can strike that one off your list.

Comment #3The best thing about the second goal was watching Obertan slip in the background. 😉
Just kidding… Good performance overall, much improved from the first half of the game against Malaga.
Very pleased. Aarons looks good, as does Cabella-ella-ella-a-a-a.

Comment #4I see we are Newcatsle again, Ed! 🙂
I likethe look of Obertans twin brother, better than the guy we got first time.
Good summry, Beattie old man, but i would pick out Vuckic as never going to make it now, Anita too weak for Prem, MYM has Brambleitis and its looking terminal.
All quite encouraging BUT a win by theplayers not by tactics. Schalke were dire. I still fear that due to Pardewing, we will have a decent first half season, inevitable tiring of players, lowering of morale plus injuries will lead to a usual 2nd half term of disaster.

We’ll look at what happens when Stevie Taylor is no where near the bloody pitch
Much improved performance today and some good showings from the new boys, especially Cabella (HBA Who?)!
But MOTM has to Rolando, very good pre season from him
Pardew promised a much improved performance so credit where it’s due but it’s still pre season non the less so won’t be banging the “were ganna win the league man” drum yet
Oh…and what the hell has happened to Obertan!!!

Comment #13I don’t want to see us play anything other than 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 under Pardew . Its all he knows and how we got the majority of the points in the 5th place season . Might not be pretty but the best we can expect under him I’m afraid .
Team for City:

Not sure, he’s touted Rolando for a little while now, reckon we’ll see a fair bit of him Abied Perez and Sakta this season
For me with the arrival of Chucky Campbell has probably dropped to the bottom of the pecking order, him and Arma i reckon will be heading out on loan

Comment #17Mickalonius, sorry to hear that. By way of explanation though, I am saying that we keep on buying quality players, some of whom can sustain by their own playing skills a reasonable run of form, however Pardews lack of tactical knowledge and demotivating formations explode spectacularly from time to time. When that happens he starts to monkey with team selection and positioning. This demotivates players and we finish the season spiralling into a string of defeats. Thats it really.

Comment #20Stand out Motm for me today was Gabby, shocking or what?!
Cabella didn’t look amazing, he look composed but did zero and even scuffed a chance due to no control. Jury is out whether he will be worth the money paid.
New lad Ferryra looks average.
Dummett needs sold, he is awful!
Mbiwa cannot play in a back three. He looks lost compared to a composed Williamson and Mbiwa partnership before Streete come on.
Vuckic is crap.
Abeid is backup at best.
Colback had a poor tournament after looking like a great player in Nz
Stalyor should be sold.
Aarons looks like a player who may just make it if managed well. Think Sterling. If managed right could be a great little player.
Anita looks too lightweight for centre mid.
Armstrong looks like a decent little player too. Probably needs a loan with guaranteed first team place.
Conclusion
Sell
Staylor
rtaylor
Dummett
Vuckic
Ben Arfa
Jury is out on Obertan if he manages to play like he has this weekend.
Buy
Dier
Richards
Grenier
Remy/Hernandez

I think none came off over the two games…..
Sorry but don’t believe the hype he looks a good player not a great one. Based on skill and impact Ben Arfa certainly looks the better of two, and I slate Ben Arfa.
Rivere took his goal really well, still he looks lost upfront with the ball. He did zero other than that header. He loses the ball pretty much every time he touches it.
Think we need a striker but still if he manages to finish like that when given 1 chance he maybe what we need.

Dier is already at Spurs. Well done by the way on your assessment of facunda. He’s hardly played and is getting up to match speed. Comes on for half a match and your writing him off already.
Hopefully the blog will get back to a bit of normality again after the ludicrous comments on here yesterday

Unless we move on players (Ryan Taylor, HBA, Saylor, Santon etc)to generate funds.
I think we will have enough for top half of league which is all our illustrious leader wants. Shame really because a top striker, midfielder and top CB could get Europe….
imo

Didnt even comment yday, like today it’s a friendly, no need to overhype a loss or a win.
Based on his performance today Ferryra looked average, granted it’s 45 mins but his touches were really not great. He looks alot like the players we have…. Not much difference between him Riviere, Armstrong, Perez, Campbell, they all look pacey lightweight.
You look at Siem and he looks a player.
