Pardew – Newcastle Players A Little Tired Tonight

Alan Pardew talked about the 2-2 draw at Huddersfield tonight, when we were a little lucky to get a result, with Remy Cabella getting a great opportunistic goal after 88 minutes, after he was brilliantly set up by Ayoze Perez,  from a quickly taken free kick, as time was running out.

Alan Pardew – Newcastle players were tired

This is what Pardew said immediately after the game tonight:

“I thought we looked a little bit tired from our exertions at the weekend.” “We have had three games in four days.” “And that’s tough on any team.

“We had good quality here and there.” “There was some fits and starts, but we have good players in good areas.”  “We knew at the weekend it was going to be a tough schedule for the four teams involved.”

“Back to back is tough.”  “We took this game on a Tuesday because it was a fatigue game for us.” “We coped with it quite well because Huddersfield had some good players.”

It’s been a brutal pre-season up to this point for the Magpies, there’s no doubt about that, with Newcastle playing 7 games in a short 21 days, and two of those games were in New Zealand and two were in Germany.

But Newcastle now have five days before our last pre-season game at home to Real Sociedad, before we play Manchester City a week on Sunday in our first league game of the season.

It’s hardly surprising that Newcastle players felt some fatigue tonight – but there can be no such excuses next Sunday.

We don’t need enhancement in the back, we need devoted fans with snipers behind goal.

    What’s up with Tiote?

    Tiote anyone?

    To be sold?

    Small injury?

Was he even playing in Germany?

Ian Toon -agree with your concerns about our defence -it has been obvious for the last couple of years that our central defenderd are useless. Colo is alright coming out of defence with the ball -cool/calm and distribution is ok -it is the defending side which now lets him down he ball watches/misses the runner and has no pace.
Some folk have his abilities 3-4 years ago imprinted in their minds and cannot criticise him – I include Percy here -Percy will not drop Colo.
I would invited fans to observe Colo the next match -he’s sure to replicate his growing deficiencies. Willo and Taylor are just as bad -we are going to end up sacrificing a potentially good collection of players because of a poor defence -and Percys reluctance to bin Colo and co.

There’s plenty of snipers to choose from on this site.

So who the fook do the pre season schedule? It’s easy to presume that 3 games in 4 days is a bit much… and what was the gain from today’s game?

Lads if I may, pre season for me is to gel in new signings, try out different formations and more importantly try to work towards a cohesive plan or playing method. Where are we at:

We have a poor defence and we concede to many chances, our ball retention is appalling and because of this we suffer burnout much like last season….This was evident in a few. We set up to nullify the opposition concentrating on there strengths rather than looking at ways we can hurt them. We sit back soak up pressure and try to pinch a goal, for these reasons I want pardew out….win lose or draw!!

    We wuz toired.

It’s pre-season and he’s already back into the swing of saying it. No doubt if we get beaten by Man City, being tired from a jam packed pre-season will be an excuse.

Wonder what gems will be unveiled in his excuse bingo this year.

Whatever Pardew says, I can say one thing for sure in his defence. In the time schedule I really don’t know what NUFCs management is doing arranging two games in NZ and two in Germany in that time span. NZ is 23 hours of flying and with a two hour stopover in Singapore it took us a week to get over the jet lag. Why do we need to go so far? Just about as far as you can on this planet! With what will have gone on since I will be very surprised if we get a result against MC frankly,
