The following policies should be taken into consideration before commenting:
An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

I will be happier if we finish upper mid table again, but only if we play attacking football. Its been good to see us trying that so far, but it still needs to be more productive than it was today, otherwise instead of boring, it will be frustrating. I was more frustrated than bored today.

On the downside it suggests Puma our about to announce a 2 year contract extension
The cheapest kits we’ve ever had with that crap printed on nufc badge, they just look shite and tacky

And that just about sums up our goals for next season – Safe, but not spectacular, difficult to get relegated, no interest in really having a go in the Cups.
What exactly is the point?? No wonder so many fans are disallusioned, fed up, stopped going. A sad state of affairs.

yeah mate, but I doubt that Tiote will play, because he didnt play single minute in pre season…I would use Sissoko with Abeid, as he seems to be ready

Comment #205CH got the sack after losing just 4 games all season when we won the fizzy just to accommodate this no hoper, what an absolute disgrace, and just reflects all the shambles running our club now.

Comment #207Markaccus mate, I just can’t see upper mid table for us. We’re weak and getting weaker at CB. Injuries will come, especially to Colo (continuing back problems). We didn’t sell Saylor or bring anybody decent in. Big trouble there I suspect. The striker situation isn’t properly resolved either. We haven’t replaced Ba or Remy properly. Very risky mate. That’s why I had the midget strikers smuggled in. It’s difficult to keep them away from the lasses but they could be very useful in the second half of the season. 😯

Comment #208Forgot to add that by having those two infront of the back four that it relieves a little of the pressure on the two centre backs by offering protection. Not ideal as the back four should be able to cope on their own but seems as though we play defensively from the off it feels like the best option especially against the big teams with the added bonus of what I said earlier….it allows the attacking players to actually attack without worrying

Comment #209Spot on Graeme @202. That’s how it looks to me as well mate, but I will enjoy watching the new lads play as others have said. No serious intent from the owner however. That much is obvious.

He will get that pressure mate that’s the way of the game these days but yeah I’d like to see him against City for some time but we will see how it goes

I’d agree that Sissoko should be CM not winger primarily but tbf he has had some good games on the wing and made a difference in a few games there but now we have some decent winger options maybe Pardew will move him more central again

Yes CB is a massive worry. I really cant understand why we have not signed one. Appart from the one who went straight back out on loan.

Comment #215PPB – Im a pretty positive person actually, I am positive that Pardew is dragging the whole club and squad down to a totally desperate level and will take us nowhere. I am also positive that you wont be happy until he has taken us down, which will happen if he remains in charge as he is clueless. Anyway continue to enjoy the dross he serves up.
tequilamag – we were outplayed by power houses such as Wolves and Bolton in that season at home, were you there? can you remember? I can, it was shite, utter shite, seen as though that season is what people hang there hats on in defence of Pardew, I can bare witness to saying most games were utter dross, sprinkled with moments of absolute amazingness from BA Cisse Benny Raylor and Cabaye.
Have you actually ever played the game as you seem incapable of being able to distance a shite performance from results gained. Not a lot of games that I watch were I come away and say wow we really deserved that.
Could you give me any examples? I take it they wont be in cup competitions? pffftttttt…
Gosling instead of Marv…..
Mullins instead of Mascherano…
Shane Ferguson instead of Ben Arfa…
Harewood instead of Tevez….
Good judge and manager of talent as well may I add..

Comment #220I don’t understand why people are saying Colback doesn’t add anything. Rubbish
He rarely loses the ball, works extremely hard, tackles as tough as Tiote and makes better passes than Cheick , he goes forward and is a natural left footer.
He broke down moves and created chances today. How is that not adding anything?
I rather see him start than Tiote

Comment #221I see a difficult season for us with some bright spots such as Janmaat, SdJ, and possibly Ferreyra. Colback should be solid but unspectacular and hopefully Sissoko has a great season. It’s not enough for top 8 however.

Comment #222Keep the faith lads. Mike will lead us to more mediocre seasons and make very large amounts of dosh. Isn’t that exciting for us? And he has Pardew to make all the excuses necessary. The grass was too long. the ball was too soft, his pencil wasn’t sharp enough, he got distracted by his painful rectal itch etc. etc. etc.

Comment #223Check Ben arfa and Fergie played on opposite wings and as I recall people were slating Pardew for not picking Fergie but playing his “favourite Jonas” instead.
Continue with your rewriting of history if you like.

Comment #229Unlike the vast maj on here I don’t subscribe to the back 4 in crisis view.
The rear half of last season’s implosion was caused in the main by the shock of Cabayes departure resulting in midfield mayhem and the lack of any forward moving cohesion resulting in pressure on the back four that any team’s defense would have wobbled.
With the new signings and having seen the pre season games , I think the squad are back on track.
The reason Real today had so few chances was because our attack and midfield were back to being combative again.

Got to be Tiote man. But yes, I agree with your XI, well one exception, I think Rivière will go on the other wing and Ferrerya will play up top.
I hope Aarons gets some starts down the left too.
