This summer transfer window has already got to be one of the best we have seen at Newcastle for many years, and if we can get say a top striker and a top center-back through the door before the window slams shut on September 1st – Newcastle will have done some great business.
Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles – Newcastle’s latest signings
We have now brought in nine good players to Newcastle, and all for about £35M, and that means Newcastle have spent a net £3M on transfers this year, after selling Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy for about £32M this year.
That outlay is probably a little more because we also brought in Luuk de Jong on loan in January.
Here are the incoming transfers so far this summer, with a best estimate on the transfer fees:

[table “28” not found /]So Newcastle still have some money to spend, and in the financial year ended on June 30th, we should make some big profits – because we only had two loan signings and no permanent signings during that time.
We brought in Loic Remy and Luuk on loan, probably for around £3M or £4M for the pair, but Joe Kinnear made no permanent signings, and the revenue should be close to £135M.
Newcastle are trying to bring in one more top striker, but we also hope they go after a top center-back – so our defense is strengthened from last season when we conceded 59 goals – which was far too many.
Newcastle could show their ambition by still signing a couple of top class players before September rolls around – and that would be icing on the cake.

Comment #122Is it negativity or opinions? Depends which way you take it I suppose. The team is quite good but we have the players to make it stronger when fit. That’s positivity IMO 😉

Comment #124As long as the albatross a.k.a. Pardew is here we will just float around aimlessly hoping to win enough games to hang on to our status

Comment #125The club and by that definition the owner have spent an awful lot of money on players. Still the whinging morons in the xenophobic bigoted hate campaigns demand more. What on earth is wrong with people, the club has running costs, all the staff that work at the club have to be paid there are maintenance costs so trying to balance the books seems the logical way to go. Maybe the ones demanding that MA spend more money are the parasitic types that are given everything and have not had to earn a living.
