This Newcastle Signing Could Be One Of The Best

We thought Alan Pardew’s interview with Sky Sports today was almost all positive – but the point he made about getting at least 48 points and it would be a good season – is the one quote that’s getting all the headlines.

siem de jong in gray

Siem de Jong – could be one of the best

Alan Pardew seems to just love Siem de Jong, whom he expects to be fit for next Sunday, along with Cheick Tiote – and Cheick – if we are to believe the recent news – could be on his way out of Newcastle this summer.

This is what Alan said about Siem:

¨I absolutely think he’s a terrific player, I’ve been lucky enough in my career to manage some great players and I think he could be one of the best.”

¨I’ve worked with Teddy Sheringham and he reminds me a lot of Teddy in the way that he conducts the game, the way he conducts himself,  and that’ll be shown on a match day.”

”I think we’ve been very much on the ball with transfers. I think if something comes along that we think is right for us, we have got scope to move. Whether we do or not will depend on the finances and whether it’s right.”

Siem can certainly fill in for Yohan Cabaye as the withdrawn striker in the number 10 role, and he has similar skills to the Frenchman.

And we saw his skills with that terrific goal the Dutchman scored after 14 minutes against Oldham Athletic in our very first pre-season game.

Here’s the goal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm1ZP35V6X8

We have to hope that Siem is fit enough to start next Sunday, and if Cheick is also fit, then we could have a very good side out against the Premier League Champions.

Maybe we can even win that game?

Ruined his career going to joke Newcastle. Should have come to Sunderland.

Players from Dutch league always flop when they move to another league with the exception of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Suarez

I wouldn’t risk tiote even if he’s passed as fit. He’s had virtually no pre season so will be way behind the others.
Siem should be ok as he’s had a few training sessions and games. Of love to see him in the starting line up against city.

Either Van Persie, De Jong, Koeman, Cruyff, Kluivert, van Nistelrooy, Davids, van der vaart, Sneijder, Robben, Stekelenburg, van Bronckhorst, Stam, van der sar, cocu, Seedorf, de boer, overmars, bergkamp, Rijkaard, van Basten and gullitt are all terrible players, or you are an idiot. Right now I’m thinking the latter is more probable.

On another note-I’m really looking forward to seeing De Jong play, looks an intelligent player who can provide a link we desperately need and lacked last season (even with Cabaye)

Other aftershaves are on The market obviously.

But you’re looking a strong manly cologne in my opinion.

    Agree on Tiote
No pre season behind him and Tiote has that curse where little niggling injuries seem to end up spanning over a couple of months !

Definitely hope Tiote plays alongside Sissoko with De Jong as AM. Cabella right, Gouffran left, Rivierre down the middle. Add Santon when fit to that team and I’d think we might edge any side at home.

    NEWSFLASH.
Shitty underpants (SUFC-rule) has gone missing in the Wearside area – the police are on the case with tracker dogs after an item of his clothing was found in a wooded area.

I think he will go for about 6million.

Dont care if hes any good just so long as they dont want him to go.

With pardew 48 points is as far we will go under him. His target is even lower than our points total last year.

He used average instead of what he has at his disposal.

Give him Messi and Ronaldo and he’ll sing to same tune. Average points.

    HAHAHAHAH. STUPID PARDEW.

So after costing hull £7.5m in January and then only scoring 4, yes just 4 goals, Southampton decide he’s worth £12m? Opened mouthed is not the word and I know they’ve got mega money at the moment but that is fcuking ridiculous! Although I concede it’s no where near as ludicrous as side show bob’s fee lol! This Tiote situation reminds me of the Cabaye situation last year except this time I hope we sell. £8m-£10m, move sissoko to CDM, and buy a winger and we will be set.

You don’t even have a top striker because no one wants to join such a rubbish club.

We have Jozy Altidore, why can’t a club that it’s fans think is a big club sign a star striker?

    USA Geordie

The defence, in particular Williamson, Coloccini, Santon and to a certain degree Krul, is awful. Fills me with no confidence at all.

The defence will be Pardew’s Achilles heel and possibly end up with him getting the sack after the Liverpool game on Nov 1st.
