QPR manager And Redknapp hopes that striker Loic Remy will stay with QPR for the coming season, although Harry’s a little bit worried that a top club could come in for him towards the end of the transfer window.
Loic Remy – in action last season for Newcastle
This is what Harry Redknapp has said about his French International striker today:
“You hope that doesn’t happen.” “But at the end of the day, if he’s got a buy-out clause there’s very little you can do about it I would imagine.¨ “That would be the worst scenario.¨
“I don’t think he would want to do that either to us. He’s a good lad, (and) he’s got a good relationship with the Chairman.¨ “With a week to go before the window closes, we all need to know where we’re going. I don’t think he would suddenly walk away the day before.¨
“I think he’s too decent a guy to do that.” “I sat down with him when he came back, but I didn’t have to persuade him, we sat down and he just said ‘look, I’m back, I want to play, I’m here’.”
“So unless something comes up Champions League or something massive for him, he would like to stay here and play.¨ “And he’s shown that attitude every day on the training ground, I couldn’t have asked for more from him.¨
“He’s been great, he’s worked hard, he’s done his running, he’s got himself fit, he’s a proper professional and that’s all you can ask.¨ “There have been several clubs that have rung up about him, in the Premier League, but I don’t think that they would be clubs that he would particularly want to leave QPR for.¨
“We hope Loic will stay, he’s a fantastic player and his attitude since he’s been back has just been absolutely first-class¨ “He’s trained great and we’re hoping that he’ll be here at the start of the season – but you never know.
“I’m not trying to sell him because we don’t want to sell him.¨ “For me really, he should be a £20m striker, in comparison to others that are getting sold for £12M (like Shane Long for example).¨
“To have lost him for the amount that we were going to, he would have been too cheap.¨ “And to have him back here is fantastic for us.¨ “I want to keep him, the chairman wants him to stay, and we hope that he does stay.¨
“When I looked at what he was going to go for to Liverpool, it was a fantastic buy for Liverpool at that money.¨ “So their loss is our gain I think.”
What Harry says was reflected in the way Loic conducted himself at Newcastle last season, and he was very professional until near the end of the season.
In March, April and early May he seemed to be protecting himself, and seemed a bit unwilling to play for Newcastle in case he got injured and couldn’t play in the World Cup for France, and although fit he wasn’t in the match-day squad for our final game of the season at Liverpool.
It looks to us that unless a club in the Champions League comes in for him, Loic will just stay at QPR, and we suppose he hopes some other club will come in for him in January or next summer.
But we think Newcastle could well have given up on Loic Remy – since he’s had so many chances to sign for us this summer.

Comment #85i don’t say much that’s anti pardew myself but thats mainly down to me just being relistic.
kevin walking out, all the appointments we have seen whilst ashley has been owner.
what manages we have had in this premier league era that are above average.
how long ago since we won a good trophy
money, big cities for there wives and instant success seeming most important to footballers and managers now that pride passion and long term planning.
it just looks like a massive risk to take whilst ashley is here.
i would love a quality manager just like i would love a quality car and house but sadly they require massive amounts of money which ashley doesn’t seem to allow.

who cares that remy is staying at QPR
who cares that there is a article out there say we are interested in Chinese striker NEE GOOD,
while I thank ED for the opportunity to talk about our club, a lot of the threads are not worth talking about,
whether you like it or not, one of 2 big issues at our club are ,
1 the fat man at the top, does he even care about the club,
2 the manager, should he still be here.
I can give you 10 reasons he should not be here, you “pardew fans” only come back with , he got us 5th, or he is being handicapped by the fat man, both are not valid reasons.
im yet to hear from any of you, anything that convinces me you even like the club you say you support, let alone know anything about football.
you seem to get the fat mans role and pardews role totally mixed up.
just to spell it oout for all you numpties who say that pardew is ok.
pardews only job is to coach football into the team, forget about who we might be buying and forget about who we might be selling, all he has to do is set up training sessions that the players can get something out of,
ie, 1 passing, nice and simple
2 attacking, maling sure we get balls into the box and someone in there to try and score
3 defending, making sure people pick up people
4 set plays , try and score from a corner.
pardew should not worry that he is not in charge of barca, it should not even matter if he was coaching kids on a sunday, the idea is still the same, take those 4 things and come up with a system that suits the players you have.
pardew does it the other way, he has a system that he would like to play, his mate jose plays it and seems quite good at it, but pardew puts players in the wrong position all the time. week after week
to many of you are hung up on players pardew doesn’t have and might never have, rather than focusing on what is wrong now,
he is wrong

Comment #90My concern is that if we have a great start (excluding the citeh match), people will say “new player factor”. If it continues through xmas, people will say “players are rebelling against pardews tactics”. Then if we continue to play decent football, finnish maybe 6th (i know this is hypothetical of course) peoppe will say “we got lucky because we got a throw in against qpr that we shouldnt have had, et.c”. I know this is just conjecture, but people turn into excuse merchants themselves on here, bigger than pardew or even Tony Pulis (the worst excuser in my oppinion) when anything goes right 😀

what has footballers wives got to do with how they train.
if a football signs for Chelsea is he any less likely to cheat on her and make her un happy?
most footballers don’t care who and where they play as long as they get good money, nor do the wives
are you being realistic or just settling for less out of life??

he sets out every game not to lose 🙁 and that’s it
yet he ends up losing more games because he plays football to close to our own goal,
he refuses to commit bodies forward, and that’s why we get to see so many wonder goals, the play has no option other than to shoot,
but its ok because pardew says he has that in his locker 😉

Comment #94Clement Grenier’s agent confirms Newcastle interest.
Clement Grenier’s agent Frederic Guerra has confirmed Get French Football News reports from last month indicating that Newcastle made a failed attempt to sign his client.
“I have been in talks with Newcastle on and off since January 2014. They were a real possibility. We looked at what they had to offer, and I preferred to say no.”
The agent was speaking to our clients at Foot Mercato.

Don’t be naive. The wife and family will of course need to be considered when opting to move clubs.
Especially when it involves moving country.
Maybe 15 years ago it wasn’t as big a factor but i’m sure now there’s a part to play when the WAGS give their two pence.
The majority won’t be the kind of top profile family members we see plastered in the daily rags, but there’s still more of a money-related culture associated with football now than there ever was.
I think the point that was being made was that your top profile French footballer for example, going to his wife and saying ive got an offer from Newcastle or an offer from Tottenham.
She says where’s Newcastle? It’s in Northern England…
And where’s Tottenham?
It’s in London?
9 times out of 10 the wife will say – “i’d prefer to go to London.”
Just a thought. I think it was a valid point.

Comment #97Not to put a downer on this “pardew has the tools now” debate but didn’t most fans come out and say this is the best squad we’ve had for years?
Are we stronger than last year? NO in my opinion we are not, Remy and cabaye have gone hba not included this team hasn’t improved in my eyes. Fans were calling for 8th last year yet this season I’m hearing the same ballsak rubbish….If your so confident the team is better why not demand a top 6 finish rather than 8th to 10th?

I like you have never been impressed by him even 5th place hated the no tactics and knew there was trouble ahead.
I dislike him as a person and I see traits of Kieron Dyer in him.
Dyer always believed his hype and never believed he had to change or develop. His legs where to fast for his feet or his brain but his mouth was faster, he reckoned he replace Scholes in the England team only thing is Scholes scored more against NUFC than Dyer did for.
Pardew again believes all the hype doesn’t change or develop yet beleives he’s a too managers and no doubt reckons he’s bringing stability and in his mind he’s as good as SBR or Jose.
His records terrible at best but he’s alright with it.
I can see the end coming and it’ll be like cluedo the game!!
Pardew dead in his office
Killed with his manager of the year trophy
The only question is who done it?
Cisse. Benny. Sissoko. Or one of the new lads?
He ruins players faster than he gets them so we could be in the do do this year.

I think we look weaker than the beginning of last season but maybe….just maybe stronger than the 2nd half of the season.
My biggest concern is how long will it take players to adapt, that in my eyes is a legitimate excuse for pardew which I think he’s rehearsed on multiple occasions in front of his mirror everyday!!

My main issue with pardew isn’t where we finish or how we perform in the league. It’s the brand of football on display….The goof talks about being in the entertainment industry and the plays shut up shop football.
I would be happy with a Martinez type manager and finish in 15th playing attacking football than a pardew type manager finishing 7th whilst playing the most mind numbing football known to man!!

what fans like you want is a nice quiet day, so that we can talk about how to get our cucumbers to grow big in the allotment,
you have no real excitement about the game, their is no passion in you what so ever,
you don’t watch the game , it may be on the tv, or you may be at the game, but there is no lights on,
you believe what your told, and then you go to bed like a good boy.

exactly mate, its not where we finish but how we are getting there,
im betting that last year, that if we played with more bodies going forward we would have been fighting for top 6.
this season I really don’t want to listen to any excuses regarding this is a new team, its the same most seasons,
when any manager takes over a new team, its pretty much the same, if fact I would say it could even be harder to take over a new team than add 6-9 new players to a squad, realisticly I only see 3 of them starting in the first game, so its not that bad for him,

Comment #120I hate it in SJP now it’s horrible!
It’s dead between the poor football and horrendous stewardship it’s gone! I started watching when Smith and Ozzy where in charge and even though we where shit it was unreal being in the ground!
Even if some wanker pissed in your picket or smacked you in the head for being cheeky.
Saw some of the KK years was away in army but when got to games it was unreal to be there.
Even though the atmosphere has been leaking out since SBR was shockingly sacked but nothing like it is now.
The atmosphere hasn’t been killed it’s been murder and buried somewhere and it breaks my heart.
I never not going to be able to totally stop going I’m a mug I know, I’ll be honest I’ve went to a few Heed games and loved every minute!
Watching a team try is unreal I wish we’d try it!
