An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated
Ed Harrison

Comment #3City will probably be a win-win game for P45DUE – nobody really expects us to get 3 points, many will be delighted with a draw but most expect us to lose this game.
P45DUE therefore has nothing to lose by going out to attack them, pressure them, go for a win. If he tries his usual tictacs, to sit back, defend for 88 minutes, hoping to catch them on the break, we will be handed our backsides without doubt.
City have far too many very good players on call, they will not be worried by P45DUE’s negative tictacs, they will be delighted by them as they have the players to take us apart with the defense we have available.
Alan, play the game you talk – remember, the “Front foot Footy” you are allegedly renowned for playing, lets see some of it eh!!!

Comment #6There are generally four results:
Win
Draw
Lose
Honourable Win
I think it will be an Honourable Win for us as we will play really well and at times put Man City to the sword and all the pundits will agree but City will come away with the three points.

Comment #18I expect us to win, we are at home and should take the game to citeh, players they are missing or lack fitness:
Kompany, Demichalis, Zabaleta, Aguero, Negredo
We have:
Santon, Tiote, SDJ
We should always be looking to win at home not any of this ahh well a point is a good result. They are missing key players and we have apparently improved on last year or at least that’s what I’m told.

There’s wanting the manager to move on then there’s actually hoping we lose and then celebrating and revelling in the loss, that’s just pathetic
That’s why most people ignore the idiot

Comment #21Tbh, first game at home after a complete squad rebuild with key players yet to play in the same line up against the defending champions I’m not expecting a result
But I am expecting a performance, couldn’t care less about the score as long as we turn up and genuinely show intent passion and commitment over the 90 minutes and give ourselves a platform for a very nice run of fixtures
Take the Man Utd game on Boxing Day a couple of seasons ago, we lost but we were fantastic and threw our all at them and the lads left the pitch with there heads held high

Comment #22It’s looking like Tiote will not make it but De Jong will.
Therefore, will Anita replace Tiote ?
Personally I would prefer to see a three man midfield of Colback, Sissoko and De Jong with either Gouffran or Obertan on the right wing. I suppose Anita or Abeid can replace De Jong when he runs out of steam.

Comment #29if a loved one had a curable cancer , and was in pain , wouldn’t you want it over as quick as possible ?
pardew is a cancer at our club , and you hoping for a win is selfish in my eyes , this has been a long battle with this none footballing gutless coward , as soon as he is gone we can move forward, as we do have a great squad , as we did in the last few seasons , last season should have been a comfy top 8 , but it was a hard slog 10th , and whether we won or lost , the games were painful to watch ,
the way I see it is , if we are not going to win the league , not trying to win a cup, at least give us a show, something we can enjoy , I have watch many game that we have lost and thought wow that was a great game to be involved in, at least you can say we tried.
wanting us to win 1-0 by a scrappy 90 min goal or another wonder goal every week is not a way to be happy supporting your team,
what fan would want that,

Comment #33Nice to see the optimism, I went for a draw. However, if you are looking for unbiased assessment, always look for someone who is backing their evaluation with cold hard cash (in other words the bookies). Odds are heavily stacked against us, even for a draw 🙁
Did we not get Man City again as a first game? 4-0 thrashing, didn’t touch the ball? Was that away?

Complete squad rebuild and yet to play in the same team? Come on mate they’ve had friendlies and worked to a system hopefully, yes it takes a while to integrate players but if they can’t be up for the first game and look for a positive result then what’s the point.
The SCUM have beaten a full strength Citeh twice in 2 years, about time we expected some big results at home otherwise there is no chance of braking into the top 6. We should be looking to beat all sides at home and not just settle for a good performance.
They are missing KEY PLAYER, this is the best time to play them…We should make the most of it, I want a win but at a push I’d take a draw.

Comment #35Im looking forward to sunday and seeing how the new lads perform against the best in the lge.
I dont expect any points ,but what i do expect is positive attack minded play and formation.
Pardew has it all to prove this season, he ll be getting scrutinized in everything he does,in every game we play,
If we start badly i think he,ll be gone by Halloween.
City apart, i think we have 5 really winnable games after that, whether home or away.
No excused this time Pardew, give us something to shout about and let opposing teams worry about us instead of us being wary of the opposition.

Comment #40What I would give for a CB in the old Jaap Stam mould, a Tony Adams or Woodgate…..
I think we might create more chances this year which in itself protects our defence if we are up the other end, whether we take them or not.
My hugest , biggest worry is our CB positions. Colo a year slower and willo you never know what you are going to get. Pardew you are a bloody muppet for not strengthening our weakest area…..IMO
