We seem to have brought some very good players into the club this summer, but a lot of them – like Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Manu Riviere, Facundo Ferreyra and Ayoze Perez have never played in the Premier League, one of the highest rated football leagues in the world.
Remy Cabella – could become big star on Tyneside
So it’s difficult to know how some of them will fare this season, but they look like good players, although they may need time to adjust to the physicality and speed of the Premier League – but hopefully not too much time.
Here’s who we have brought in so far, with hopes we could still get a couple of good players through the door before the end of the transfer window – which is two weeks tomorrow.
[table “27” not found /]We may get some indication of which of our new players are ready now for the Premier League and of course Jack Colback ha for a few seasons in the Premier League with Sunderland, and we are hoping he can have a very good game this afternoon.
But as the saying goes – the proof of the pudding is in the eating – which means that you can only ever say something is a success after it has been tried out or used – a pudding may look good but if it doesn’t taste good, its not very good.
And in the case of our new players who seem to be talented – until they have played a lot of games in the Premier League – we cannot judge just how good they are.
But we think that players like Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Manu Riviere and Daryl Janmaat could be terrific buys for Newcastle in the long term.
We hope so – in any case.

Comment #41We need to give Ben arfa a chance he is a match winner, what’s the point of him just sitting with the development squad till his contract runs out?! He the different between a loss and a win, if he’s not gone by the end of the window give him a shot, and we should be competing with QPR for they players they are bringing in! They have managed to get caulker and we are screaming for a solid centre back like him! And now leroy fer which would be an ideal replacement if tiote goes

No I don’t beleive a word he says, if he’s on sky or motd I walk out the room or turn him off. Sick of his waffle and I never see the match he watches.
We can dream of a De Boer type appointment but alas it’s just a dream.
I like Aaron’s too and I hope he gets a run, I’d love to see him today last 20 and def start him against the mighty Gills.
Even if I fancy us to lose I’ll say draw as I hate being negative I like to beleive we have a chance even with all the handicaps Pardew and Ashley put upon us!
My heart says 2 2 as it’s early and where up for it, but there’s a lot a stake for Pardew so I’ve said 3 2 cos I wanna win.
I’ll decide when I see the team sheet what I expect, I’ll give my real prediction then 🙂

If Pards is saying that he will give obertan a chance, he is crazy not to involve Ben arfa, and even Aarons yeah he’s an exciting talent but no where near Ben arfa, we need to sell him to free up 50k or let him go for a free now if they don’t involve him

1 huge difference – the managers
Could you ever imagine Saylor, Willo or Colo moving on to a through ball in the oppositions last third, going round the keeper and scoring !!!

sorry it’s late, I’m out side building a play set for my daughter , tea break now 😉
in normal circumstances I agree with your 5 ways to win a game,
but under pardew it’s not like that, yes rarely it is, I remember a few a few games vrs man city while pardew has been here and we have played well and lost , loved the game,
under pardew we mainly play poor and lose , play with no ideas and lose , play poor and scrape a win, and sit back after the game and say how did that happen,
I can take losing games, if we had a style of play and attacked the other team, say like what spurs did to us last year , they battered us , krul was a one man team that day , if I was a spuds fan I would not be happy we lost , but I could not fault the effort from the players or ask questions of the manager about his game plan , them games are one offs, our fans are happy only because of a win, fr is to get anything out of any game we are thinking I hope our defence is good today as we have now accepted that we are not an attacking team, as fans pardew has lowered our expectations so far thy we should be happy just to be on the same pitch as Southampton villa , he has moved teams like Everton way above us into a league we just carnt compete with,
I think as a man he seems a nice guy, a good story teller for kids, but seems a coward amongst men,
from a football point of view, we seem to get by on luck and wonder goals more than tactics
GOOFY
I’m not sure you are reading my posts correct
the only player I slate is obertan , and it’s tactic not tactics under pardew,
I always say players like Goofy and sissoko do have something to offer as they are good players, but not where they play under pardew,
pardew out

Comment #611st game/ball yet to played/kicked and yet as per the seasons a write off because in the eyes of those with their black n white glasses NUFC are a club that should be top 4 because they say so?
For those who may have missed it football has changed and we dont have an owner who is prepared to bankroll the club. Get over it ffs.
What we do have is a terrific stadium, a decent squad and brilliant support. So quit all your delusions, appreciate what you do have and actual become united. That way who knows what might happen as football is a funny old game.
A point today would be a good result. Would like to see this 11

TBH that pairing with absence of SDJ & Tiote today probably is the better option for midfield 2.
Prime
Colo is too slow for CB against quality of striker who will be out there today. However; as he can read the game very well and deliver a pass a holding role with Colback next to him and Sissoko in front will go some way to nulify Toure and leave minimal space between our midfield and back four.
Alas though you fail to see bigger picture, take into account quality of opposition and hence make a snide comment.
You are typical of the ill educated numpties who just belittle and slag others and the club.
You are not united and never will be until you educate yourself as to the finer details of football.
