Question is when will you stop for a coffee Ed? Not enough time between posts to start a decent conversation mate!

Which person in Norway picked bottom 3? Now who could that be? Could it have been Pardew’s greatest fan?

C’mon Catchy, tell us why you’re so full of optimism.

The team has the Potential to finish top six, IF at least one of the 2 missing links is brought in this window.

If the club are indeed having a gamble that Cisse will return to form, with the new talent supplying him with the oportunities, then the defence needs to be reinforced to try and stop the consistant leakage of goals at the other end.

We need a strike force capable of scoring 60 goals a season to maintain a push for top 6; we also need a defence that can keep the Goals Conceeded down to respectable levels.

On that basis, I think we will finish in 12th place or above, but not in the top 6.

Wonder who the one vote for the bottom 3 is??

Well tw@er is buzzing this morning with news of us dispatching staff to both QPR and Lyon in attempt to thrash out some deals and also Benny and his reps were called in to a 2 hour meeting and he was politely informed “get your stuff your outta here”

    On the previous article
Colback has been a very pleasant surprise tbh very tidy little player with fantastic delivery from set pieces really busy player
Big question is who does Tiote come back in for?
Both Anita and Colback had great games and worked very well as a pairing
But future captain? Where did you pull that from Ed man!

In the bottom half of the table, in my estimation. We have had new signings come in before, those were to stop the slide into relegation… these new signings are for the same purpose, as the side has been in relegation form for the last 22 games.

My prediction, 13th in the table.

Can you imagine the feel good factor if we’d replaced STaylor with Dier, apparently as good at RB as CB, disappointing unless we did try andvhe chose Spurs.

I would keep sissoko anita colback in that 3 again for the villa game we need the points

it seems to take tiote a few games to get back to his best after an injury we don’t rush him back into the team I would say start him at Gillingham and make him captain

Top 8, only behind Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Tottenham, Everton but we could overtake Tottenham and Everton but unlikely. Don’t see how people think we will finish bottom half, really? Stoke who people think will come 8th but they are worse than us, who has Stoke bought? Bojan, Diouf and Moses they are all average, Sidwell is decent though and they have a smaller squad. we signed quality Cabella, De Jong, Rivière and Janmaat are quality and Colback is decent too, with Perez who has potential and Aarons coming though. I don’t think Ferreya will do anything. Then we are better than the newly promoted, West Brom, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Southampton, West Ham, Hull, Crystal Palace and Swansea (if they kept Michu then maybe not).

    for the record

    I picked 11-17

and that is only because we have got very good players that will dig us out of holes,

I wont pick a top top manager, but I would say if Martinez had this squad, we would be top 6,,

I rate our squad better than man u’s

    stupid question time,,

goals change games, man c scored , david silva scored on 38 mins, should pardew have made a sub at half time?
he played containing football, up until 75 minutes before making an attacking sub that could make a difference.
surely changing the team earlier might have meant we could attack more and give us a fighting chance??

I voted top ten, so pretty much same as last season.
A lot of teams looked decent in first game, Southampton, Palace, Toon and were unlucky to lose so it depends on if they can carry that form through the rest of the season

I think it’s just a season long loan deal mate.

Either way, there will be more Remy to Newcastle rumours between now and the end of the window as a result.

I also read there’d been a meeting set up for this weekend between ourselves and QPR.

So it’s more than likely we will have to hear shed loads of theories on what’s going down before the end of the window.

    HBA to QPR?
    Remy to NUFC?
    Swap deal?
    Taylor to QPR?
    Yaddad yadda yadda to NUFC?
    Saggy chops likes pokey-bum-w*nks?
Burgess Meredith was the best Penguin?
    Ferdinand’s favourite band is WHAM?
    Pardew looks like Joe 90?

    ed slow down man

As much as I would liked to be proved wrong I just think AP is too set in his ways to bring the best out of the players we now have and have always had tbh.

I don’t know if AP or Allardyce will ever feel comfortable being asked or in Allardyce’s case ordered to play more attacking and entertaining football.

Defensive, containing, risk free football with 1 man on his own up top, not supported quickly enough, is so engrained in both their mentality that it’s going to take a huge leap and stretch to artificially do something which does not come naturally to you.

You will have different mindsets in all sports and I’m showing my age here but ie Geoff Boycott could take forever painfully compiling runs where as ”King Viv” Richards could regularly score at more than a run a ball even in test cricket and I know which one I preferred to watch.

If Pardew can totally alter his ethos and play offensive football on a regular basis, not just we are a goal down then it would be fantastic.

Saw glimpses of that on Sunday, maybe against weaker opposition if we attack from the off rather than wait to see what happens, who knows where it could take us.

I saw a market last week with the top 7 from last year out and we were favourites to win and Stoke 2nd faves.
I think 8th spot is expected. Anything above id above expectations, anything below 10th should lead to a manager change

    Newcastle 0-2 Man City
    Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle
    Newcastle 3-0 Cardiff
    Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 1-2 Swansea
    Stoke 1-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 0-4 Man Utd
    Southampton 4-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 0-3 Everton
Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace (Lucky Injury time goal)
    Fulham 1-0 Newcastle
    Hull 1-4 Newcastle
Newcastle 1-0 Aston Villa (Lucky Injury time goal)
    Newcastle 0-4 Tottenham
    Chelsea 3-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 0-3 Sunderland
    Norwich 0-0 Newcastle
    West Ham 1-3 Newcastle
    Newcastle 0-2 Man City
    Newcastle 1-2 Cardiff
    West Brom 1-0 Newcastle
    Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal

5 wins in 22 games, 2 of those wins coming via injury time winning goals, which means we are lucky not to have 3 wins in 22…

Voting top 6 is just slightly optimistic.

Eric Dier was a massive miss for us.

Mind you could you ever imagine seeing a NUFC CB under pardew in the final third moving on to a through ball and coolly taking it round the keeper to score the winner. total football at it’s best. De Boer where are you now!!!

    I fancy 10th 11th or 12th but can’t vote for that.
It should say better, worse or just the same.

How can any of us judge after 10 games?

Last year after 10 there’s was talk of Europe after 20 people where convinced of Europe!

Until the final whistle of the season no one can say were better or worse.

Unfortunately we have no choice but to suck it and see.

When Ozzy had us bottom of the league ready to drop again who thought KK would turn the club around in such amazing fashion or so quick.

Hope for better days as it’s all we can do and HOPE is something Ashley nor Pardew can take away!

I think we can finish in 6th but it will probably be 8th.

    1 – Man City
    2 – Chelsea
    3 – Arsenal
    4 – Liverpool
    5 – Everton
    6 – Man Utd
    7 – Spurs
    8 – Newcastle

I think there will be little in it between Everton, Man Utd, Spurs and ourselves.

I think Pardew and the players genuinely believe they can finish in the eighth or higher. I think we can too and that we have a better group than we are given credit for outside of Newcastle.
