An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #45This team with a qualified manager- bottom 5 ,, sack pards appoint a manager qualified in team building- could be top 6 . 8 at worst . build this team up over a couple of years, coz lets be honest it dosnt matter how good players are , if the manager is not the same gear , the team will only be as good as their manager. Fergie- cloughie, wenger, all adopt the same philosophy, build a team up over the years , not just chuck 6 or 7 good players in all at the same time and ‘ think ‘ you are going to have a good team , your not, ok rodgers at liverpool has bought 7 players , but he hasnt chucked them in at the same time , and he already has ther nucleous of a good side there , so unlike pardew , he hasnt bought a team , hes strengthened it , get a replacement for suares and they will be champions soon. Pardew came here 4 years ago to take us to the next level. well, it dosnt take einstein to think , hang on a minute , whats happened, 4 years he has had to build a team good enough to at least compete in this league. 4 years with the backing of the 24th richest man in england ( its not all pardews fault)behind him. What we saw on sunday was 6 re 7 new players chucked in at the deep end ( not the players fault) WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 4 YEARS OF TEAM BUILDING? what we saw was a sham ( not the players fault) we saw the manager who was appointed 4 years ago to build a team chuck 7 players in and hope for the best, that was it . Thats not managing , anybody on this blog could go and buy 678 players stick a top on them and tell them to do their best, thats not managing. anyone on here could fall ,out with their best player, and make him play in the reserves and make him look a twat, clever eh, ? thats not managing, why not put his arm around him give him a cuddle tell him how important to the team he is.
Cabs couldnt get away quick enough, debucheys ears got 6 ins bigger when arsenal was mentioned, didnt take him 5 mins to pack his bags , remy ? wont come near the place. 3 good players gone , why? IMO, no future for the club , going nowhere , a manager with no vision, players want more than that. these new lads at the club, good players . but without a plan. After 4 years as manager pardew should never have needed to throw all those lads in . the team should have been already there , the team he has built up over the last 4 years . on sunday he produced something that didnt even resemble a team , something that afte 4 years should have been a lot lot better ( again not the lads fault) it wasnt – and never will be.

pardew thinks that every year
he is amazed at the end when he looks at the table and see’s where we ended up,
he feels that we were unlucky. and that if the season was just 15 games longer, he could have caught them at the top

Man Utd just doesn’t look like a team that could compete with Man City, Chelsea and possibly Arsenal and Liverpool.
Sir Alex left Moyes with a team that was well past its best. A year later the situation hasn’t improved, moreover it’s arguable it is worse.
We shall see how good LvG really is as this may be his biggest test.

The season he did do well there was zero investment to push on, and any player who has attracted a decent offer has been sold, there are better managers out there for sure but to blame him for us not signing anyone for a year and a half is just plain biased.

Comment #57Was impressed with Cabella at the weekend as he always wanted the ball and looked dangerous . Didn’t come off every time, but because his name isn’t Hatem he gets away with it .
Imagine HBA & Cabella in the same team and tearing teams to shreds ? . It would be beautiful t watch, but Pardew’s ego is stopping it from ever happening .
Still our best team IMO:
—————————Krul——————————-
–Janmaat——–Willo——–M’biwa——–Haidara–
————Sissoko———————–Tiote————-
—HBA—————-De Jong—————-Cabella—
————————–Rivierre—————————-
Even Benny’s biggest doubters must want to at least see him & Cabella destroying full backs on a weekly basis .

You’re right about QPR but they know that there’s nothing can be done to stop ’em spending as though there’s no tomorrow.
Luverpool are in the same position and are likely to be brought to task under FFP next year – like QPR, after they’ve raked in cash from whichever competitions they play in. Then, they’ll get a slap, a squad sanction and a fine like Citeh and PSG.
But by then, they’ve got the money and job done!
Just a pity these clubs couldn’t have received a warning when the signs of contravention of FFP rules were there then punished when it was shown that the rules were breached.
As far a QPR’s concerned, it’ll be Rednapp’s bank-account holding dog that’s signing players, paying them pots up front then letting QPR sign them for free and on no wages

Great team, only change I’d make is Sissoko for Colback. With Colback playing box to box ahead of Tiote. I like Sissoko but it’s difficult to fit him in at times.
That forward line looks excellent though. I’d love to see Ben Arfa and Cabella line up together.

Comment #65QPR sold more than they bought when they went down to the Championship. Now they are back in the Premier League, they are spending to stay in the division, and rightfully so under their ambitious owner who wants to cement QPR as a Premier League side. Buying Caulker, Mutch and Fer does not make them the last of the big spenders.

Comment #67My mind changed on this on the news breaking yesterday that Ashley is after a bigger chunk of Rangers. I mentioned my theory in a post ages ago – see 119 here: http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2014/05/08/why-am-i-so-apathetic/
And I’ve banged on at Ian Wright about it on his radio show.
If Ashley buys a controlling interest in Rangers, it raises the problem of conflict of interest rules, which say you can’t have controlling influence over two clubs in the same competition.
If he’s after 20% of Rangers, that would make him the biggest shareholder, which means that NUFC and Rangers CANNOT both be in the CL.
That raises the question: which one of those two is easier to get into the CL year in, year out?
Obvious, really.
That means not allowing NUFC above 6th in the PL.
So if, just hypothetically, we were looking like relegation contenders on Jan 1st, what to do?
Oh, yes – go out and buy six players. French, for instance.
Or – again hypothetically – if we were, say, 6th on Jan 1st; safe from relegation but in danger of hitting CL spots. What to do?
Oh, yes – sell our key player to sabotage the season.
Sound familiar?
Shit, I hate being right. Fortunately it doesn’t happen all that often. 🙂
If Ashley does buy those shares, be afraid – very afraid – and just wait for January to kick our season and our club in the klunge yet again.

Comment #68I think we should be looking at 8th as we have the 8th best squad. Anything less is an underachievement.
I keep reading that Perez shot was on target before the block, has anyone seen the replay from behind the…right next to the post the ball passes? His shot was going wide and the deflection took it closer to the goal!! Not having a dig but look at it again and tell me if I’m wrong.

Aug 19, 2014 at 12:12 PM
Comment #69whumpie – you theory about Mr Tubbs intentions – is not that new -but maybe very relevant.
To avoid the conflict rules for European competition it would be easier for Rangers to qualify and then for Mr Tubbs other team -us -not to qualify -by winning cups or getting a CL spot.
Us not winning cups -not getting a CL spot – sounds very very familiar – indeed those are our current ambitions.
Would not put anything past this bloke.

I think you could be wrong. I’ve seen it from behind the goal & the deflection looks like it could have took the spin off the ball which just missed the post by a whisker. That is my opinion only & really can’t say for sure either way but it was certainly a tremendous piece of defending.

Comment #74for months I was heading for bottom 3 but when I saw the match against Man Sh!tty in my view they where lucky to get the 2 goals IMO.
so I voted for 7th through to 10th, our new players for me had a cracking game and look exciting.
we where against the best team in the premier league and they couldn’t cope with us especially in the second half.
2 things that concern me though
1. will Pardew keep this same style every match? because we all should know that we only play like this against the bigger teams ( Manure, Man sh!tty, Arsenal, Chelsea ) and with these 4 clubs last season we had 2 results against Manure and Chelsea and where unlucky against Arsenal and Man Sh!tty.
2. are we going back to basis and basically nose dive back to defending? but I guess we will never know until we play against Villa.
all in all though if we play against every team like we did against Man sh!tty I don’t see why we can’t hit the top 7 spot and as most will know about me I always look at the performance rather than the scores.

It was class defending no doubt about it, but the ball was heading out, would young Perez have got enough swazz on the ball to shape it back in? Not sure really but some are making it sound like it was headed for the bottom corner when really it started well outside the far post.
well impressed with burnley yesterday….its gonna be a tight game against them.

You have to remember mate that they had a LB playing at RB, 2 CB’s that hadn’t played a single minute since the world cup, no Negredo and a 40% fit Aguero. Yeah we were decent but Dzeko should have scored in the first half when put through….he had a tame shot straight at Krul. My verdict is plenty of running but no end product…We rushed things in the final third and we didn’t have enough options ahead of the midfielders. Young Perez showed more composure than Riviere, plenty of sideways passing by us but very little created against 2 CB’S that haven’t kicked a ball for 4 weeks.
