Terribly sad for the family to lose someone so young. Sad for the club to lose a fan so dedicated that he was willing to travel to the other side of the world to watch a pre-season friendly.

Lovely to see the club honour a truly passionate NUFC fan who died in the act of supporting the club he obviously loved.

Tell you what mind, Mike Ashley may well not be a poeple’s person, but in fairness to the guy, he has been more than happy to allow Liam to get the send-off which he deserves, and no doubt hopefully the same will happen with John, so credit where its due, Liam for sure will be proud of “HIS” club and those who run it, certainly for today he will, god rest his soul.

Very good from the clubs in a time when a lot of decisions are out of touch with the average fan.

    RIP the fallen 2

Is the Balotelli Liverpool thing true?? I personally know a few Liverpool fans who absolutely hated the sight of that lad with a passion when he was over here last. Will be funny watching them back pedal as the season moves along.

Good on the club for showing up, and very nice gesture to the SAFC fans who have really shown their class in this whole sad affair.

Thoughts are definitely with the families. Who would have thought that such a tragedy could occur?

Excellent and reverend turn out from the powers that be at the Toon. They have been fantastic throughout in this whole affair regarding the varied tributes to both John and Liam.
The best thing Ashley could do now is to go one further than this and honour their memories by giving the fans a team (and a club) they can be really proud of and running the club the way it should be run.
It would be a final, fitting memorial for the two boys who will be sorely missed at Newcastle United. RIP.

Not surprised at all about the fitting tribute and support from SAFC Fans, North Easteners pull together in tough times. We may even witness a historic welcome to the next derby at SJP.
