Comment #161On the Tiote thing: am I out of order saying I don’t want him to leave because he’s one of ours? Rather than picking him apart like some bloody roadkill specimen, how about remembering all those amazing interventions, the goal against Arsenal, the sheer “shit-the-bed” intimidation that he brings to our midfield?
He’s been one of our best performers for four years and I think he deserves better than the shit-throwing he’s getting on here. Some supporters, eh.

This is not my beautiful wife!

Alot of people on here thought Dummett was good this time last year.
Anita was some sort of cross between Tiote and Cabaye in that he tackles and is a decent playmaker….
Its common for fans to hype their own players…. Sunderland do it to Borini, I mean he is crap and 14m is a joke but they think he is mint…. Rodwell the same 10m for a player that is average, simply put if here were that good he would have competed for his place, I mean Barry managed to do it!
Bottom line Newcastle have no outstanding players, a couple of good players, alot of average players and a handful of poor players.
Can anyone honestly say Tiote would walking into Chelsea, Man City or Arsenals starting 11?
If not, why would he be worth 14m? He is 28 and really has not improved since coming here. He has proved to be an average player in the PL which is worth something, he would probably get in half PL teams starting 11, so that is worth something ultimately I think hes worth approx 8-10m MAX
I think as stated Locomotive Moscow pretty much showed their interpretation of him at 4m…..
I mean what world do we live in when people think Tiote is worth over 10m? He is at times frustrating to watch.

cisse hasn’t done much the last two season but without checking will have similar goal return to wellbeck who is playing in a stronger team (a team which won the title in one of those years).
Cisse has had a very good record everywhere else he has been and a good international record too

I have listed 3-4 players…. you just make things up in your head…. or cannot read. Idiot.
Roman Neustädter
Milan Badelj
Maxime Gonalons
Alex Song
I also think the first was a fine suggestion anyway you simply do not like it because he is a better player than Tiote showing we can do better.

I don’t think he’d walk in to those starting 11’s but he would certainly compete for his place…he has ability.
It’s hard to judge directly…would matic look as good for us as chelsea? we are leakier at the back and he’d have a lot more to do.
i’m not saying tiote is as good as matic, but what i’m saying is he would look a much better player in a better side (all players do)

Comment #171Harry Redknapp has offered Paul Gascoigne a chance to work at QPR as he continues to battle alcoholism. The former England player is reportedly being treated in Poole hospital after being found drunk outside his home.
Redknapp, who lives close to Gascoigne on the south coast, has tried to help him by encouraging him to come along to QPR’s training ground and work with the youth team. “I saw him about a month ago and said: ‘I’ll pick you up in the mornings, Gazza, come training with me and do a bit of work with the kids.’ I’d love it if he could do that,” the Rangers manager said.

Comment #172Whumpie:
Shit throwing?
Hes an average player is classed as that eh?
Most of our players are average man…. a good player is someone like Oscar, Carzola, Matic…
Then an outstanding player is like Ronaldo or Messi….
Tiote is an average player, some think he is a great one. Whether he leaves or stays he is still an average player.
Cabaye is a good player, even since he has gone he is still a good player. I am not bitter when a player moves onto a bigger club with more ambition.
So me saying Tiote is average is not a swipe at him for possibly leaving, its my honest opinion of his quality as a player.
I loved him scoring against Arsenal but one goal does not make you a legend and exempt from realistic point of views. Shola scored against Sunderland plently of times, and he is crap.
Should I not say that because he scored a goal?
Some people on here are ridiculous man. Same people who if he plays on Saturday and gives away a penalty would openly slate Tiote and call him crap…..
Contradiction is the word you are looking for.

I suppose it comes down to our definition of average and good in our discussion about tiote.
I think he is good but could be replaced fairly easily if we tried, the question remains whether the club would be willing to go for the right players and pay them the right money.
It’s why I stay on the side of wanting to keep him.

Comment #176WOW some comments today about Tiote, yesterday was about Santon today it’s about Tiote!
I can’t help but smile 😉
I think most on here got to realize with Tiote as being an DM is a good player probably amongst the top 5 DM in the Premier league
on his day he can be a solid player for us but again though like every other player he can have an off day as well
and to say he wouldn’t make it in the top teams?
this is an understatement considering we are a defensive team whilst Chelsea, Arsenal, Man C/U are a attacking team.
if you’s look at our best players leaving for bigger clubs you’s will realize they left for an attacking team ( PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool )
this is why Tiote is not in the top teams because top teams don’t defend as much as we do, so there’s not really any use for him for attacking teams.
something to consider guys.

He played for Benfica and managed to catch Chelseas eye to resign him, I mean to swallow their pride and admitting they made a mistake selling him for was it 5m then a 2-3 years later paying 22-23m for him……
Clearly does the business outside a Chelsea team.
Cabaye got noticed in our team and was sold for 20m…. my point continues to be if Tiote was even in the same league as Cabaye and Matic he would be at a big club…..
I personally think he will stay and Arsenal have no desire to sign him and its just paper talk.
Does not change my opinion of him, he maybe one of our better players, although the season before last he was one of our worst with many on here wanting him dropped.
He managed to rekindle some form last year, but he still has not managed to play like he did the first season.
If he was that player and improved he would be at a big club cos he was awesome that first season. I think alot of people still judge him on that.
It would be like saying Cisse is class cos he scored those goals when he first came.
I am sure Cisse could be a good player with confidence but he has failed to even hit anywhere near those levels during his first half season.
Tiote is in the same boat, and simply put we can get better if we sold him for 8-14m ….. that is my point basically.

Sorry mate was in the process of writing my response when you made suggestions of song, gonolans etc.
Once again the Schalke lad won’t join end of, the premier league is only an attraction to players wanting to get away from leagues that are weaker or if they play for weaker teams.
Song….are you going to pay his wages? Because we aren’t going to.
Milan – completely different player to Tiote therefore not worth a convo
Gonalons – decent player but not as good a Tiote in my eyes.
Stop abusing everyone Mr Right….i know you are losing your I’m mostly right debate here on Tiote but no need to get personal with other posters.

Comment #179I’m sorry but in order for a player to be linked (paper talk, rumours of bids, rumours of us wanting £20-25m) to either manure, chelski, arsenal and I think at one point citeh (could be wrong) he has to have something about him and so therefore wouldn’t be classed as average even if none of that was true It still shows what football writers, pundits and ex professionals think of him so no not average I’m afraid

Chelsea are one of the most defensive teams in the league…. They have great attacking players but people openly slate Jose for making likes of Hazard defend.
I think your logic that attacking teams only sign attacking players is ridiculous as then why would Liverpool need a 25m Cb in Lovern or Arsenal pay 12m for Debuchy and 16 for Chambers….
I mean the list goes on. They do not just buy attacking talent, if that were the case why would PSG pay 50m for Luiz and was it 40m or something daft for Silva……?
I mean talk about grasping at straws.
5 dm better than Tiote in the PL….
Matic
Fabregas if played in the role
Arteta
Barry (and I do not particularly think he is amazing)
Fernando
Fernandinho
Toure
Schneiderlin
Lucas
Gerrard
Paulinho
All better than Tiote ta very much….. here all week.

Debuchy & Chambers are attacking WB’s, and about defenders? really! you would throw them into the mix considering there only duty is to defend?
and about the players you have listed would they be any better than Tiote if Tiote played for Man City or Chelsea.
you need to think first mate before slating people because if Tiote was surrounded by world class players he would be a very good player

The Tiote subject is a debate based on opinion. Their is no right or wrong. Its my opinion not yours not anyone elses and its not fact….
So MRRIGHT why don’t you go back to smoke whatever you do and post pointless tripe.
Oh and a side note Neustädter is a realistic target and just because ITS YOUR OPINION he is not does not make it a guarantee if he is approached he would not come…. maybe if you have that knowledge of foresight you should be working within the club MRKNOWITALL…..
Oh wait….. its your opinion not fact. Which again is hilarious as you spout about the opinion like it is fact like we cannot afford Songs wages….
Who are you MA financial advisor? Or perhaps you know what Song is on or would ask for? Again opinion mate…. as is your next two opinions……

Also for a player to average 30 games a season with around 9 goals in return is awful in a team like Manure

Comment #185Transfer Sage @166 – I still have high hopes for Cisse. Even in his baron spell he was still getting in good positions, getting shots away that were either saved or hit the woodwork. With a little bit of luck he could easily be back in the goals in this team.

Comment #186oh and you do realize most of the players you have mentioned play a different role to Tiote?
Tiote – Anchor man
Matic – ball winner
Fabregas – playmaker
Arteta – playmaker
Barry – playmaker
Fernando – ball winner
Fernandinho – ball winner
Toure – box to box
Schneiderlin – ball winner
Lucas – ball winner
Gerrard – playmaker
Paulinho – ball winner
you need to consider this into affect, fair enough most of these players can play as an Anchor man but this isn’t there main role

As for my OPINION, not fact I think I am right alot of the time, not all of the time. I see alot of biased thoughts in the blog, many approach a game and the team with their heart opposed to their head allowing them to sometimes see what is simply not there to see.

Lucas is a great player just injury prone. If he managed to string a few performances together in the first team he would be one of the best in the league. He is just constantly injured though….. Still he is better than Tiote…. why? Because he gets in the Liverpool first team when fit….. Tiote wouldn’t stand a chance.
Again he is at Liverpool contesting a spot with decent players, not Anita and Gosling. Lucas would stroll into our first team.
Thats like me saying I think Newcastle will finish in the top 10. And they did.
I have not been far off in predictions over the last few seasons I even predicted us to be relegated the season we did.
and the season we finished 5th I predicted top 7 and I was laughed at.
Alot of the time I am right when I predict.
Yet baseless comments like Tiote is average is an opinion, but you seem to forget if Tiote was such a good player he would be in a top side, not Newcastle.
AND for arguments sake if you go and say Tiote will be a good player in a top side, well then look at Fellaini most Everton fans did not want to see him leave, but he has flopped in a top side, a side that won the league the year before last.
Tiote by no means would be guaranteed to be a better player in Chelsea or any other club.
But the fact remains he is not even good enough for any top team to take a swing at him and risk it.
Black and White
Tiote is a ball winner mate. Anchor…. no. An Anchor tends to be used in the defense, abit like Mascherano in the World Cup. Tiote NEVER sits in our defensive line.
He basically runs around like a headless chicken.

Comment #197Black and White Army – I’m sorry mate but that a stupid argument. I’ve never heard of a player being an “anchor man” tactically, and not being a “ball winner ” . He does the same job as any defensive midfielder. For what its wortj , I reckon we would get 10mill for Tiote. If we had a good back up plan i would sell him for 12mill ( has terrible parts of seasons, head drops easily, gives ball away , yellow cards ) but i would not let him go cheaply. And only if we have another decent layer to come in – even if that was a striker or CB. He is one hard mutha and is a very iseful player. Him and Colback and Sissiko provide a serious midfield away from home.

Guess we’ll have to disagree, if he’d improved they wouldn’t want shot
Personally don’t think he’s improved at all, he’s a slightly better Sammy Ameobi, gangly runner with no real end product
Also wouldn’t really want to be developing a player for manure
Also Rivière looks like he can lead the line quiet happily with bags of energy and fantastic runs
Sorry but a) don’t think we really need him b) would hate to see such a bang average CF who’s barely improved despite being surrounded by the quality in a manure team come in to lead the line in a Pardew team, he’s weak on the ball, dives like he’s trying to make the Olympic high board team and has no composure in front of goal and is pretty gutless when there’s a 50 50 to be had
