Here’s Alan Pardew and Jack Colback taking the ice bucket challenge – and Newcastle don’t mess around – that’s a very big bucket!
Notice how nervous Jack looks after his manager has been absolutely soaked – although he does manage to smile – but he also has to go back to the get the rest of that bucket.
As we said at Newcastle don’t mess around – none of these (very) small buckets for the Magpies.

u say mainly a success then u say but maybe limited in afew areas so what u r saying is limited in defence as we are in the main crap and i presume limited up front as again we are crap so to sum up two thirds of the team is limited i dont class that as a successful window remember we have spent a net of practically ziltch let me know if it is a success after 10 games

Comment #45Devilsports is pretty decent I’ve just streamed all of sky sports through it, the quality isn’t top notch as you’d expect through a stream but as long as it doesn’t jetk and lag I’m not arsed as it’s watchable for me
Definitely off now as I’m getting daggers off the missus 😉

Comment #47I say mainly a success as we look better than we did last season man for man although it is a given that any team would miss Cabaye in particular…. I also said that is if players perform as per reputation etc.
The amount of finance spent isn’t necessarily the important issue (see the summer of 2011) although there should definitely be more available to continue strengthening if they want to.

Comment #49In the main the amount of finance spent is important yes before u say it we cannot compete with city or chelsea ie spending £60 mil on a player like costa but instead of spending £6 mil on a striker surely we could spend £15 to £20 on a proven goal scorer as like i said our net spend seems to be hoodwinking people relating to the amount of signings we have made and quantity is not quality and with
that moron in charge just quantifies the problem every man and his dog has known for months we needed a top class forward and c half we got neither which is why my prediction is this team will struggle to compete not with the top eight that is a given but the hulls and west hams of this league

Comment #54You are right that there is no reason that we can’t realistically spend 15millionish on a player…. I mean Baloteli for 16mil??? Yes please but he’d never join us as we stand atm on the other hand Long or Rhodes for 12mil + I think we’re better off out of it.
It all boils down to value for money and unfortunately the fat one is adamant he’ll never spend a penny more than he believes someone is worth…. this policy has as many negatives as positives if looked at objectively but as supporters it boils our blood as we are quite rightly subjective.
The lack of a proven striker or dominant cb being signed is frustrating but that doesn’t mean I think the signings we’ve made haven’t improved us.
Simply put….. just because we still need to strengthen doesn’t mean that we don’t look better overall.

Comment #56Remy kept turning us down, he knew he was destined for bigger things than a mid-table team or stay with a team going down.

Comment #57that said, he is replacing Torres who is off to Italy.
He may get a few games if someone gets injured, he performs well or when they want to give Costa or whoever a rest.
Fact is, he is not first choice otherwise they wold have bought him earlier.
I am not sure it is about greed, I think he just rates himself and believes he will be a starter for Chelsea. We will see.

Comment #58It does pose the question though…
As the big clubs make their moves, will this filter down and will we see some final comings and goings that impact our club.
I think a lot on here would think Remy should have been our top target striker because of him being proven. If they now sign someone else because he has for sure rejected a move to us, then the club likely did the right thing.
This is a big if though. We will know by Monday night.

Fact is he will be playing for a team on a whole different level to us whether he’s a starter or not.
More money and in London, no chance he’ll be regreting turning us down now.

For me, without a top centre half and striker, we have merely stood still. Which, as one talented Geordie striker/piss poor pundit once said (paraphrase) ‘if you stand still in this league, you go backwards’.

Comment #62well, I doubt he would regret it that’s like saying I bought a maserati but maybe I should have bought a porsche
I agree with what you say but I do believe he may have been better at Newcastle
I certainly do not bear a grudge, he has always been on the level with Newcastle and the fans

In the country where I live most expats, like myself, watch all English channels including BBC, ITV and Sky including 14 day catch up without having to pay any licence fee or Sky subscription.
I would imagine that there are millions of Brits around Europe who do exactly the same and don’t pay.

Comment #64Can anyone tell me what the point of a two year long loan is?
Or do we reckon Mourinho thinks it will take him 2 years to find his minerals and he’ll return like the second coming of Jesus ‘goal machine’ Christ
