There will be a number of different reports generated before tomorrow night, that Newcastle are after certain players, and there’s one report out today, that we are interested in 20 year-old Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond.
Nathan Redmond – Newcastle really interested?
It’s unlikely
We were said to be interested in this player earlier in the summer, so the report in Football League World could be taking one of those earlier reports as still true.
Nathan is a decent enough winger who is still young, and he has played 11 times with four goals for the England U21 side, and Newcastle are after more English players – as a new policy at the club.
Southampton are the other club said to be interested in the Birmingham-born player, who started his career at his home town club before moving to Norwich City and Chris Hughton last summer.
There have been a number of Premier League clubs said to be interested in Nathan since Norwich were relegated to the Championship last May.
But we would be surprised if Newcastle make a move for the 20 year-old, who joined Norwich for about £2.5M last summer,
Stoke City, who beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium yesterday, are another club said to be interested in Redmond – who has played for all the England Youth sides at every age group, and the Potters even had a bid rejected last month.
As we said – it would be a surprise if Nathan ended up at Newcastle before Tuesday morning.
He played 82 games with 9 goals for Birmingham and he has played 39 games with one goal for Norwich.
What do you think?

I don’t even think Stam could help our defence!
De Boer will be ambitious are we as ambitious as him.
If Pardew goes it will be a out of work manager as Ashley won’t pay compo twice.
I’d happily lose ten mill on playoffs to get a decent set
Of coaches in but can’t see it
The set up you propose would be perfect for this club it’s exactly what it’s screaming out for. To me the club needs changing from top to bottom from kids to first team. Is there anyone better than Ajax at this?
They know Ajax inside out and if I was ever a owner and wanted to give a coaching team a long contract it would be them without doubt.
They are no brain era if you wanted to achieve something with the club but fatty doesn’t.

Comment #9We all knew it was coming at some point, and to his credit old Pardew hasn’t disappointed us
“I think that with the group that we have, we have good players and I think as I said before, Papiss Cisse will be back, I think for the Southampton game, certainly training by then.
“I think he will be like a new signing for us, with these players around him.
“So we are still carrying three strikers who I think are good enough to score goals in the Premiership. So therefore in the group I’m quite comfortable.
“The limitations Papiss Cisse had last year were because of the creative powers we had in the team.
“I think we have a fairer group, a team that will play to the strengths of others and I think that is important.”

Yeah, better the devil you know. Let’s just keep things as they are. We wouldn’t want somebody coming in and shaking things up.

Comment #15If Gutierrez is anything to go by, Pardew will run Gouffran into the ground by playing him as much as possible until he is burned out, then he will disappear from the squad, only to be seen in the odd holiday snap on Twitter with other players.

Comment #16Anyone who thinks that if and when Pardew is sacked that Ashley is going to bring in a top top coach is seriously deluded. All this talk of de Boer!!! More like Joe Kinnear. Careful what you wish for. My view is this, we have had serial under investment for past few seasons and no manager would have done well. Pardew has 10 games in which to prove he is the man for the job. We have signed a lot of new players and it’s going to take time for the team to gel, just look at Van Gaal at United. I also think we need a two more players of quality, if after that lot we are not doing well, then I guess it is time for Pardew to go.

Kind reminder: HBA is staying on, man. It’s rare that a very good player wants to stay, but there it is.
AP is not getting the results and after 10 games we may have a dismal amount of points (I REALLY hope not), given what we’ve seen up to now. We’ll snatch some victories, but it’s mainly going to be draws (not losses) I think.
Judging from MA’s expression, he ain’t going to take much more of this. If you can’t beat the nu.1 relegation candidate at home, who are you going to beat?

Comment #25Why are we linked with him, we could have had Zaha, he looked ok yesterday? Where would he fit into the team, who would he be crossing to? We don’t need him we have aarons & dare I say it Ben arfa to play on the wing. FFS we all know where the problems are, buy some defenders and a centre forward.

Comment #28Londonderry toon we were also odds on to sign Sinclair from Citey as well. Don’t read too much into that mate! Better off heading into Belfast, gannin doon the Lisburn Road and sitting in Ryans all day while listening to Jimmy Nail!! than waiting for any more signings on deadline day.

Comment #31The reason Ketsy hasn’t been on here is because he is busy in his dad’s garage painting up his Ford Ka like a taxi, and crayoning a big “Mr Toby” sign to hold up at the airport. I hope he goes the extra mile and uses his Station Masters hat to look like an official driver. No use spoiling the ship etc…

Van Gaal has only just arrived at Man U.

Comment #36It would appear that Pardew has failed to develop the central defence using the same old pairing, but is this due to limited investment in the past or lack of alternative quality? However with Good, Satka and Lascelles being ready to come in next season, how likely is that a high priced transfer will be coming in to that position?
