Alderweireld Having Medical At Southampton

It’s not looking good for Newcastle bringing in either a center-back or a striker in the three hours or so left of this summer’s transfer window.

Toby Alderweireld

Toby Alderweireld – having medical at Southampton

One hope was that Newcastle could possibly sign Belgium international Toby Alderweireld from Atletico Madrid on loan for the season but Sky Sports is reporting that Toby is undertaking a medical in south Wales.

That’s consistent with the news last night that Southampton had moved ahead of Newcastle in the race to sign the former Ajax center-back.

There was also news earlier today that Micah Richards has travelled to Fiorentina to have a medical and complete a loan deal to the Italian club.

And Michael Keene, Manchester United’s young center-back who has played for the first team this season is said to be moving to Burnley – and the England youngster could have been a decent signing for Newcastle.

The other target we were after was Virgil van Dijk but it’s getting very late now and we would have heard something about him today if there was a chance of a move to Newcastle.

Its looking very much like we’ll not bring in any players today – with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa moving to Roma on loan for the season.

We were also linked today with Matija Nastasic, the 21 year-old talented Manchester City center-back, but Sky Sports is reporting the Serbian International wants to stay at City for the season and fight for his place in the first team.

Watch for Alan Pardew tomorrow to tell us it’s been a very successful transfer window – and we suppose he’s right in a way – but it seems it will take time for some of our new signings to adjust to English football.

And we may have trouble this season putting the ball into the back of the net.

We don’t need this guy. We have three central defenders proven as top notch in one of the best leagues in England.

So close eh lads? They nearly corrected some big mistakes at this club during this window, but they just didn’t have the balls to give it a proper go and buy those 2 players who we need. If they had we could’ve had a real go this season, even with Pardew! If only…

Certainly elements of truth in your Cisse theories jail 😉

We seem to have a habit of peeing players off, wasn’t that long ago Cabaye refused to play and where’s Tiote, Didn’t he miss the start of last season too?

Selling Ben Arfa and not signing a goalscorer or decent CB has to be up there with one of our poorest windows.

    Mr sensible troll

Whether you are a NUFC fan or not you are a sexist Buffon with no clue about football. As you say football is no place for pussies I assume it’s the only time your wife lets you out the house.

When your probably spend the day stairing at 17yr old girls throwing crass remarks whilst swilling your ale. I bet you and the neandothils you hang around with lad into the night with your 1989s humour and style. People like you have no real affection for the club it’s just an excuse to get away from the wife, so instead of coming on here talking utter rubbish try chatting to your wife she may like you.
I get the feeling most on here don’t.

Don’t waste your time responding I’m talking my unicorn for a walk!

So it Appears that Steve Bruce thinks Ben Arfa is capable of playing in his side, hopefully its a loan and when Pardew is inevitably sacked he will return to play under our new modern thinking manager, Howard Wilkinson…..

it`s not the worst window by a long shot,it`s acually been one of Our best in many years.
We`ve got lots of quality in and a couple for NeXT year too but of course some of them will need time to get used to he PL as many other teams are finding out too.
I do however agree but am not surprised that Fat Ash is selling a top CB when we actually need to strengthen there-it`s no a shock really is it?
Quite possibly we will get a couple of injuries and end up With Anita playing at CB lol

We MUST bring in a decent CB and top striker now or we ‘re in for a rough season.

    ?@NUFCThreatLevel 46s
If the Mbiwa & Hatem Ben Arfa deals go through. Alan Pardew and #NUFC will have given away two footballers we paid £15.5m for. Before wages.

Let that one sink in for a minute.
