There is news doing the rounds that Alan Pardew has told Hatem Ben Arfa that he is surplus to requirements at Newcastle United, and he wants him out of the club by 11:00 pm tonight.
Alan Pardew and Ben Arfa in happier times
It’s not like this any more between them
But something tells us that the Frenchman will still try to resist being moved out by the manager and Newcastle.
We have said for some time now that he will still want to leave Newcastle next summer as a free agent – when he could get a decent deal for himself with no transfer being needed – and he could still do that if he accepts a loan deal for the season.
Lee Ryder of the Chronicle has tweeted this on his Twitter account:
#nufc are spending the last few hours of the window trying to sell Hatem Ben Arfa.
And talkSport radio is reporting that Pardew has told the Frenchman he is surplus to requirements on Tyneside, and we wrote a piece this morning stating this altercation between the manager and Ben Arfa cannot be allowed to continue at the club.
As sometimes happens when this kind of thing starts to get out of hand, it seems to have become personal – but in our piece this morning we were hoping that Pardew and Ben Arfa could resolve their differences – for the good of the club.
It doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
These kinds of things are always sad – and nobody gets to be the winner, and quite honestly it reminds us of the fights we used to have as kids in the playground (Wharrier Street Primary School in my case) – it’s that bad and that unprofessional on both sides when it’s between grown men.
And there’s always a way to get to a solution to these problems – if only both men would get together, talk and try (and want to) fix the problem.
Life’s too short for this kind of thing.

Are you a board member?
How can you praise this guy?
Has spent nowt, zip, zero in god knows how many windows that hasn’t been generated in the clubs own finances.
He employed probably the worst manager in the EPL history (the stats say it all) a complete donkey.
Everyone has an opinion just get my head around yours.

Comment #284Ashley’s policy of getting in players during the transfer window is like the old biddy at the local car boot sale.
She goes there to buy a carving knife to carve the Sunday joint, and there are quite a few for sale but, after a lot of haggling, she decides they are all too expensive, and she ends up buying a penknife, three spoons and a fork, all of which she gets at knock down prices.
She gets home, tips her purchases onto the table, and says ‘the joint’s ready Alan. See what you can do with these’.
I hope all those who will hold Pardew responsible for not getting in a CB or a proven goal scorer in this window will bear in mind that he’s not the guy who signs the cheques. (but I don’t expect you will).

Comment #287Mactoon, spot on Cisse was dynamite now hes deemed shte by the unintelligent and ignorant, Riviere will go the same way as Luke deJong, when will the penny drop, the manager is to blame for everything. From the Ukrainian war to the Gaza Strip I believe its like a butterfly effect with this moron.

Comment #288Our business is done, Pardew will say we got the players he wanted early in the window and has Papiss the saviour will be fit for after the international break. Thing is he has the tools to work with he just doesn’t know if he wants to be a joiner, bricklayer, plasterer but everyone can see he is a labourer with no skills. Hopefully it works in our favour and he is out of here in less than 6 weeks.
Part of me thinks he is praying that Ashley doesn’t give him a striker and a centre back as he has all the excuses going for the team not performing. 90 mins is a long time watching the shit he has us playing .

I believe that Cisse was promised a pay rise for hitting a certain target but there was no mention of the owner not strengthening the team and him being moved to the right wing to accommodate another player, he failed to meet his target because of this and never got his pay rise hence the wonga fiasco, that is however just my opinion.

There aren’t haters just people who can see someone out of his depth and damaging the club. Ashley’s crime is appointing him.
Cisse, MYM and HBA were probably worth nearly 30M 2 years ago.

Comment #307Pardunce’s Champions League aspirations ‘ey? Delusional. Got to get 3 points first, Alan.
If he even gets to 10 games, he’ll shift the goal posts of lowered ambition again. Pardew’s lenient lemmings will simple gobble up his spin like hungry hippos.
Meanwhile, Ashley once again shows his lack of ambition.
One thing’s for sure, there will be even more attending another march.

Mbiwa was a liability whenever he played and it made perfect sense to play Willo and Collo when they were available. I’m not saying Ashley’s decision to send him out for a year is a particularly smart decision for the team ( although financially it makes good sense) as we could be vulnerable when injuries and suspensions kick in. Hopefully one of the young CBs will step up to the plate, and Mbiwa will return will a year’s more experience under his belt.

Comment #313We are cheated Alan is NOT an UPGRADE.
Chris Hughton wanted a Full Contract and Ashley quickly got him off the hook.
Getting Pardew in acting like an UPGRADE. It is a DOWNGRADE Manager. Pardew have crack all records of being the WORST it can be for our past results. IT is PROVEN.
Pardew HAVE TO GO.

Go watch the VIDEOs on how players DANCE together when he score a GOAL.
Do you even watch him against Arsenal how is influence games when he is on.
