We waited hoping that we could get one or two good players through the door yesterday, and while other clubs seemed to do some good business we were only successful in moving Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Ben Arfa out on season long loan deals and we think that will save the club around 6M in total this season, although it has also weakened the squad.
Alan Pardew – has to prove he’s good enough to be Newcastle manager
And by the way, it was heart warming that Newcastle fans had only words of support for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa on his Twitter account – and Mapou was very grateful when he tweeted the following message after signing on at Roma:
“Your support is incredible.”
Mapou struggled for Newcastle in the one and a half seasons he was at the club, but we had hoped he would be given a chance to get used to English football this season – but it was not to be – but he was still a respected and well liked player at Newcastle – a smashing lad and a first class professional and he always gave 100% for the team.
It’s hard to think there’s any way back for Mapou at Newcastle, and he could even do well at Roma this season under former Lille manager Rudi Garcia.
And of course we lost Ben Arfa at the last moment, and we must admit we were very sad and disappointed when that happened with Alan Pardew almost pushing the Frenchman out of the door, and Steve Bruce admitting today they didn’t go after the Frenchman until 6:00 pm last night.
Steve will be checking his calendar, because he will think yesterday was Christmas Day with such a gift as Ben Arfa.
It’s very unprofessional they way it ended up between Alan Pardew and Ben Arfa yesterday, and it kind of leaves a bad taste in the mouth – and we were really hoping they could patch up their differences – but it wasn’t to be and the mercurial one is gone now – and he’s a free agent next summer,.
In retrospect it looks a decent move for Ben Arfa, because he will get the chance to show his skills for Steve Bruce in the Premier League, and the Geordie is a good man manager – and heavens know where Ben Arfa could end up next season.
We wish both Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Hatem Ben Arfa the very best of seasons and the very best in their future careers in football.
So that was it – we have been linked with players like Loic Remy, Alexandre Lacazette, Joel Campbell, Micah Richards, Virgil van Dijk, Toby Alderweireld and Matija Nastasic – but we couldn’t get any of them through the door yesterday.
Loic Remy, Micah Richards and Toby Alderweireld did find new clubs in the last day or two – Loic went to Chelsea, Micah to Fiorentina and Toby to Southampton.
Hopefully we will be scouting some players now, in the hope they could be brought in during January – in case we need them.
We now have to hope that the good players we did bring in like Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Daryl Janmaat, Remy Cabella, Manu Riviere, Ayoze Perez, Facundo Ferreyra and Rolando Aarons – who’s like a new signing – can come through this season for us, and keep us in the top half of the table.
With other clubs in the Premier League seemingly getting stronger all the time – that will not be easy.
What do you think?

Comment #1I hope the fans sing HBA’s name loudly every match day until pardumb gets sacked. I’d be surprised if we got more than 3 points from the next 4 games especially if coloshitty stays fit and tiote is not available to bail him oout. PARDEW OUT,

Comment #5why does Newcastle make me regret supporting them every damn season for the past 10 years ? damn me and Ashley/Pardew.
We can never catch a break. Before these c3nts we had (in no particular order : Big Sam, Souness, Glen Roeder, clueless Keegan, Freddy Shepard etc.
Can’t we just get a normal owner and a normal half decent manager ? is that too much to ask ?

Comment #7Some clown on here yesterday was questioning which players had devalued under pardew.
How about Cisse, Ben Arfa and MYM just for starters before we begin to add the likes of Anita, Jonas, Marveaux, Bigirimana and Obertan etc etc. How long before Cabella and SDJ become ” surplus to requirements”.
Pardew is really special isn’t he.
I’m tempted to become a Hull fan now. Sensational by Bruce yesterday, absolutely rocking.

I ask myself this every day. One of the cruellest things in life to bear being a NUFC fan. As you say a succession of totally unsuitable owners and managers, only interrupted by KK and SBR.

Comment #10I stopped supporting Ashley’s NUFC after the Cardiff Cup game.
If they can’t be bothered trying to win a cup why should I waste my time dreaming about NUFC.
ASHLEY OUT!

Comment #19The club is rotton to the core itshard to admit it but its only asset is the fans its status in the epl is small fry a basic feeder club for the top six who if we get a decent player ie arrons and they wanted him its now a given personally i watch and read about nufc but gave up going years ago when this bad apple took over
i used to look forward to watching if they were on live now i could take it or leave it thats how bad it is
there is no light at the end of the tunnel while he owns this club and has a manager who panders to his every wim keegan did spit his dummy out but would never in a million years stood for this alan pardew has such a thick skin i dont even think the abuse he gets would make him quit it really would take ashley to sack him and he could not give too hoots about europe the cups all his remit is keep the club in the epl by whatever means possible the club will continue to suffer while he is here i hope one day soon it is released from this cancer

Comment #20Posted a blog earlier in which I stated that Ashley had no intention of buying anyone sink or swim now, by January it could be too late. All I’m waiting for are the excuses.God I’m so pleased I didn’t renew my season ticket & before I get criticism from fans who claim we should support our team no matter what.A person can only take so much, I have followed the Toon since 1951, but Ashley & co have broken my will to go & watch matches at SJP.Instead ill watch from the comfort of my club & enjoy a pint a lot cheaper than Ashley charges. After all as a 77 year old I’ve decided to vote with my feet,if other fans want to show their disapproval of how the club is run why dont you all boycott a couple of games then it my sink into Mr Ashley that its time to go & take Pardew with him.

pardew always leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
For those blaming Ash, yes for any future owner Ash will always be a problem.
However, Ash didn’t actively look to get rid of arguably our best defender and most creative player on deadline day with no replacements.
That’s suicidal when your ego is so much bigger than your brain and you diminish your squad because of personality clashes.
I can think of far more capable managers than pardew who could come who aren’t all high maintenance. So yes Ash is a problem but mainly because he appointed such a low grade manager in the first place.

Comment #23I know he’s sh1te but he dosn’t get much help either mind lads.
This squad will never get better than mid-table. It’s all it’s designed for the amount of quality in it. The depth is always going to be a problem.
Been hung out to dry again by Ashley saying we will replace any outgoings, that went doon well last night didn’t it? How many times is that now?? Ashley decides what goes on at this club, in’s and outs not Pardew. Sh1te with the team lets save six million off the wage bill. He should resign but it is a hell of a job to walk away from. He won’t get any better than this.

Comment #24I dont understand the Ashley hate. He has spent generously this summer. Its not his fault the transfer window ended on such a depressing note. it was PARDUMB who alienated MYM and HBA meaning they had to leave. He has ruined cisse’s career and is going to do the same to Riviere.
I think Pardumb is the worst manager in the league and i question ashley’s judgment but i also respect Ashley for his loyalty to his employee

Comment #25Well what a shocker, it was on the cards but boy does it leave a sickening taste in your mouth. To the pro pardew brigade I refer you back to his comments in the morning….If any player leaves we will replace. This liar knew players would leave and no replacements would come in…We didn’t even make an effort to bring anyone in. Keep turning up though and lining Ashley pockets it’s all we are good for.

Comment #26Anyone see Colocinni’s statement about the club:
‘I think everyone can see the way the club wants to go‘ – The Argentinian claiming that Mike Ashley ‘got the message‘ and ‘spent a lot of money‘.
Nice too see he’s well and truely brainwashed by them evil bastards above.

Comment #27I don’t quite understand all the hysteria on here. We knew there was no future for HBA and there were strong rumours about Mbiwa leaving throughout the window. Granted it is extremely disappointing that we haven’t brought in a new Centre Back and hopefully we will address this in the January window (we have seen this before that we wait until the next window to replace players).
Steve Bruce always does lots of deals on deadline day but a lot of them turn out to be flops especially when he was at the makems so let’s see how it pans out.

Comment #35“hysteria on here” is because we knew when we saw a good attacking player that is being wasted and throw into a dump even he wanted to come back.
We knew that a better manager could have let Ben Arfa play and let him try to get us the burial points when is there for taking.
We knew that a better manger would have a better technical knowledge to guide our group of players to display their true worth instate of weakness.
We knew that all..but there is something that we all don’t know.
When will this headbutting, ref bulling fellow resign from his post.
Newcastle needs a Better Manager.

Under Pardew hands even Messi and R7 will be nobody cause we cant defence and they dont track back esp for R7 case.
So what’s the point of saying we have bought in 4 players.

Comment #40How come nobody is blaming Charnley after yesterday’s failure to recruit Alderwiereld or Lacazette? I think he was told to work on getting MYM and HBA out as priority. And that, friends would not be necessarily from Pardew. We had better hope de Jong morphs into a 25 year-old Teddy Sheringham sometime soon and that we eventually find out why we paid 1.5 million to loan Ferreya?
The best news for us is Tiote is still here after all the talk of his leaving. Lets hope he’s fit for Saints.
