Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that after the humiliation last Saturday at Southampton, when we taken to the cleaners 4-0 for the second time running on the south coast, the Newcastle manager had a long conversation with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley on the day after the game.
Alan Pardew and Mike Ashley
This is what Alan Pardew has said today during his news conference for the upcoming Hull City game, about what has happened since the Saints game:
“It has not been an easy week,” “I’ve spoken to the group about it and if we go behind in games we have to show a better spirit.¨
“I had a long conversation with Mike Ashley on Sunday. We both agreed to focus on this Saturday and try to get a win for Newcastle.”
What Alan doesn’t say there, is in what was a long conversation – what other things were said.
If we were to hazard a guess at what Ashley said, it would be that the results so far this season are unacceptable, especially with all the new players Newcastle have brought in, and Alan and the team must improve quickly – otherwise changes will be made.
It seems to us that if Newcastle are beaten again on Saturday, it’s almost certain that Mike Ashley will then call time on Alan Pardew being manager at the club – and Sunday’s conversation could have included such a warning.
The manager and the fans are not going to be helped by the massive demonstrations planned against Pardew at St. James’ Park on Saturday – and you can bet the media will be all over that – both and after the game, whatever the result.
If it’s another defeat there will be even more calls for Alan Pardew to be fired.
It’s going to be a hostile atmosphere for the players on Saturday – no doubt about that – but it’s also time our players showed some guts, fight, courage and spirit, and not go down without a fight, as they did last week at Southampton.
Maybe Alan can talk about the guts and spirit Jonas Gutierrez has shown in his fight against cancer over the last year, and use that to try to inspire the players into going all out and playing at their very best on Saturday afternoon.
It’s time for some of our players to grow up – and quickly too.

Comment #164As daft as it sounds pardew would do alright with Fulham or Cardiff I think for a short time, history shows he always starts well then gets too big for his boots. Stick in th clubs he’d probably get them promoted but then get shot of the kunt

Agree on both counts. He’s already alluded to that getting the win will be turning the corner the twat.
Anyone got any links for the full presser and not just snippets, not that I really want to see his smarmy fcuking face any longer than necessary but I like to digest the thing as a whole and see what’s what. Even a full transcript would suffice but a video’s better I can see things in there actual context and how questions were asked.
I like to analyse body language and behaviour, I’m sad like that.

Comment #168I find it funny how Carver sees the sackpardew banner come out pre-match and goes off it, yet we sit through 2 years of pretty much abysmal football at times and he can’t take some criticism. Speaks volumes.
I cannot wait for Saturday.

Pardew has always been on the back foot at this club. Fans curbed it for 5th season. Seemed 50/50 relation season.
I vehemently dislike the man and want him to leave but I get the feeling from the numerous “go back down south” and “cockney mafia” cries that this support will only settle for a Geordie or FDB
We all know how well that worked with shearer who shows he is equally as tactically inept as parclue week on week on national tv.
My thoughts on Ashley. He has a lot to answer for but he has always been on the back foot since keegan. Ashley made his mistakes and even admitted in a statement near the beginning of pardews range he did but has been crucified for everything since. Blame does lie at his door but let me out a spin on things:
Renaming stadium to showcase naming rights for sale:
Arsenal a a self-sufficient club they did the same with their move to emirates. If he was just trying to get free advertising for sd why did he then sell the rights to Wonga on the cheap in full knowledge they would rename the stadium st James.
Appointing Pardew:
Stated that they wanted a youngish manager to give time to build a team. I genuinely believe part of that is why he is still here. Even if a small part. Pardew has had the team in good form as much as bad before the beginning of this season even if the performances were not attractive. (Moderate first half a season, good second season resulting in Europa, woeful third season, followed by a very impressive first half of season and abysmal second half)
Free advertising?
He owns the club and bailed it out. Why shouldn’t he get a bit of free exposure. I would. The club still owes Ashley money that will in all likelihood never be repaid its an eyesore but it is not damaging us.
Not buying players
Have stated on numerous occasions they want a self-sufficient club. No different to most prem teams. Yes Southampton and arsenal do it better but tottenham don’t spend above their means anymore, even man united don’t and Everton never have. If you got nothing but abuse from supporters having put money in to a bad investment to save it knowing there would never be any remote in in their eyes because washed up Keegan left and we sold andy Carroll for ridiculous money, why would you have any inclinations to put your own money into a club. W may have sold Cabaye and debuchy to cover this summer but there is certainly not a huge wad of cash sitting in a bank to splash. The club only entered profit two years ago and the profit was measly. Once any bank funds are spent that is it gone for good. And have you guys forgotten the investment in the academy? Ashley does not steal money from the club, he does not even take a salary from it. Any money there to be stolen is pennies in comparison to his retail empire.
Lastly Thatcher was the 80s southerners do not have an agenda against the north. In fact the only people that seem to care about regionalism are the northerner a. He is not trying to bankrupt this club to spite us. He may be filthy rich but he’s not rich enough to loose what would likely amount to about £200m or near enough all in for the sake of his ego. His lack of communication with the fans goes some way to support that.
Yes it was a mistake hiring Wise.
Managerial appointments have been very questionable too.
Not signing a 20 goal a season proven striker is a massive shortfall.
The lack of communication with the fans is a huge error.
Banning the press is ridiculous.
But all in all I believe these are part misjudgement and part lack of empathy for the plight of the newcastle fan rather than personal vendetta against the city of newcastle who have never shown any semblance of gratitude for steadying a sinking ship (which we were before he bought the club). Maybe he should have refused to bankroll us with colocini’s wage packet along with barton, Nolan, jonas et all in the championship and let us rot.
I think ashley has got it totally wrong but I can’t blame him for the lack of respect for the fans who have never respected him. I am in full support of the protests against pardew but let’s face it guys you all know the anger won’t stop there. Even if we appointed a top draw manager Ashley would never get the credit.

He should at least get a little credit. Maybe a small skunki logo in the bottom corner of the posters 😉
I think Dom Littlewood may be interested in this story Skunki.

Comment #176Unfortunately I feel like we are all getting our hopes up only for them to be dashed again by Ashley , I don’t feel as though he will sack Pardew even if we lose.he should of been sacked on numerous occasions but hasn’t . I feel Ashley gets some sort of sick satisfaction out of pissing us off

Comment #177Think Di matteo would be a terrible choice! Yes he may have won champions league but he also came 6th with a ridiculously strong chelsea team! Took less points thsn AVB in same amount of games!
Lost his WBA job for being too negative With tactics! Wouldn’t touch him tbh!
I like De Boer! Failing that i’d take Sherwood! With this regime We need a manager proven in bringing through younger players and to keep fans onside we need a manager who plays attacking football!
Was so refreshing to see Gary monk set his team out to attack at stamford bridge last week!

Comment #178Just had an interesting conversation with a North East journalist . It is thought that the SackPardew.com was set up and is being run by two journos with revenge on their mind. Newcastle fans are being used to create news and strife where there isnt a real story. Looks as if we are all being played for mugs here
