You coudn’t accuse Newcastle fans of being too positive over the last few weeks, and the pathetic performance at Southampton last Saturday – for the second time running – has fans demanding that Alan Pardew be fired.
Newcastle entertain Hull City tomorrow at St. James’ Park, but Hatem Ben Arfa will not be in the match day 18 for the visitors, because of a clause in the season-long loan agreement with Newcastle, and this is a game we surprisingly lost 3-2 last season, after being 2-1 up at half time.
In fact the next three games – at home to Hull City, and away at Stoke City and at Swansea City are all fixtures we lost last season.
Two in three fans think we will lose this game.
So many fans voting that we will be beaten at home tomorrow by a mediocre side, could be a combination of our horrendous form over the last two games, and also the fact there will be active demonstrations to have Alan Pardew fired as the Newcastle manager, with a group planning to have (many) banners at the game.
If Newcastle do go behind in this game, it will take some effort to come back and get something out of a game we should be looking to win.
But with Newcastle you never know what’s going to happen – maybe we can win it 4-0.
And there again – maybe not..
There’s still time to vote if you haven’t already done so.
