Palace Equalize In Stoppage Time – Newcastle Go To Extra Time

Crystal Palace .svgnufc emblem

Newcastle were winning 2-1 until the 92nd minute tonight at Selhurst Park, but then Crystal Palace equalized in stoppage time – so the game has gone to extra time – and then if it’s still level after 30 more minutes it will go to penalties.

Newcastle played well tonight but couldn’t see out the game, and it had been Riviere who had been the hero with a couple of good goals in a 12 minute spell, one was a epnalty, after Newcastle had gone behind 1-0.

But the winners of this tie will be at Manchester City in the next round. 🙁

City knocked us out at home last season in this same competition.

we dont like we can win any game. we have 2 cbs out on loan (mapou and lascallas) whod do better then the current partnership. ive no faith in this team at all. colback is average to say the least.

We were actually doing well up until the king made his subs settling for what we had. If he had a brain he’d be fcuking dangerous! Knobhead.

So does that mean because we have Citeh in the next round that they are unbeatable?

Wigan beat them last season in the cup, Stoke beat them a few weeks ago. Sometimes to win something you have to beat the best.

i think we could have won it 3-2 had cisse been on, armstrong is still young so chances like that one in the second half will be harder “UL armstrong”, hopefully now that rivere has scored his goal and cisse is getting back on form we have got goal scorers in our team.

then when we go 2 goals ahead we bring on armstrong or perez.

Before we all twist about Citeh and bemoan the luck of the draw dont you think it would make more sense to beat a 2/3rd 11 of Palace.

just because stoke and wigan beat them doesn’t mean we will, it depends on what the city team are like that day.

Our poor defence undermines everything our attack does
We’ve conceded almost 15 goals since the start of hte season
    Bad defences get clubs relegated

    Shocking decision.

    Toonking

Its 1 game of football played over 90mins, look at Arsenal yesterday, problem is we have a defeatist attitude. Anything can happen over 90 mins, the biggest thing to do is defend properly and take your chances. Its 11 men against 11 men.

Anyways its all irrelevant. We need to win this first.

How about the next time we play a top 5 team we just say forfeit the game instead?

At least the lads have played fairly decent tonight, they switched off for the second goal… but id rarther them learn from that mistake here than lose a league match through it

    this is armstrongs first game.

you don’t give critism to a player who has not yet had a start.

i might be saying the chance he missed would have been scored by cisse but what i’m saying is he is still very young overall he has been great and infact he isn’t actually the main striker all game because that was rivere.

Toonbrother, if by ‘end product’ you mean goals then yes you’re right. BUT, he has looked lively, had a few decent shots and looked to at least pick up the ball and try and fashion himself a chance from nowt.

if hes playing for the senior team he should be judged as a senior team player! By senior team standards he has been distinctly Average.

The comments i read here are simply dishonest. He is not in gouffrans league . He;s not even in Sammy Ameobi or Obertan’s league. He’s not ready.

Our club is in a dire situation. We do not have time for charity cases We need to stop giving average players preferential treatment just because they are local lads
