The stand-off between Newcastle manager Alan Pardew and French winger Ben Arfa had no winners, let’s make that perfectly clear – both parties had some responsibility for what happened.
Ben Arfa – while at Newcastle for four years since August, 2010
But Ben Arfa has now come out and said he was not treated well by the staff at Newcastle in his last few months on Tyneside, before he was shipped out on loan to Hull City for the last year of his contract, and he will become a free agent next summer.
Ben Arfa will never return to Newcastle.
This is what the 13 times capped French International has said today to Canal+ in France:
“When they put you in the reserves, when they change your number during pre-season, when all of the staff are hostile to you, of which I cannot speak about today – it is difficult to explain but I will not forget,”
That’s not particularly a good advertisement for Newcastle United, and we cannot think what Ben Arfa did to warrant such treatment from Newcastle this year.
We know he is a difficult player to manage and he has a history of that – and he had fallen out with then Marseilles manager Didier Deschamps when he first arrived at Newcastle in August of 2010.
But if all he did was confront the Newcastle manager in the dressing room after some of our many losses in the second half of last season – that doesn’t sound enough to receive the treatment he got from the Newcastle manager and it seems the staff too.
But we really don’t know what happened and we suppose the full truth will eventually come out sometime in the future, but this is one of the reasons Newcastle fans are against Alan Pardew – we could have used Ben Arfa’s ability to win games this season.
Even if he doesn’t track back and defend as he should do.
It’s a very sad case on both sides.

Comment #83Saw this a while ago but didn’t post about it because I thought it had already been covered.
Here’s how I think Hatem fell foul of our Omnipotent One- after being played a few times from kick off against Pardew’s ‘better judgement’ and mainly because he felt pressure from the fans to actually go out and win games with a smidgeon of style, Benny not only didn’t always come up with the goods (overlooking the positions and formations he was hamstrung by) and Pardew, a stat addict, points to his failings in letting the ball go and causing our entire defensive midfield and back line to fall over backwards and conceding goals. Benny takes this one too many times and points out to Pardew that he is the pointy end of the sword, not the lead-booted dullard supposedly defending. Points out to Pardew that his style of play is stifling and counter productive, and that as long as he has a hole in a certain area of his anatomy, it will not change. This signals the adverse judgement of the Regal One. Banishment!

This injury record has been a shocker for a while…but Krul, goofy and Cisse just have a cold at the minute, Tiote has cramp because he was under utilised in the hope someone would buy him….Some recovery that btw, injured for us but managed 180mins of football for Ivory Coast. SDJ returned to quickly?
Either way as club we need to Look into what causes these injuries

That’s an interesting theory on HBA
Personally i think it’s because Pardew tried to put a finger in him in the showers

Answers to your questions.
‘Would I advocate having him ? ‘
What’s this question got to do with Ben Arfa ?
‘Explain why Nasri can’t get into the French side ‘
I don’t follow the career of every French player nor players from other foreign countries so perhaps you can enlighten us on Nasri.

not sure ! if we are talking about games prior to this game then we have had more key players missing tbh i.e. tiote
think if we look at a first 11 we have players that we dont have replacements for in siem/cisse/tiote/colback/krull/janmaat even colo (as if he’s injured as rubbish as he is we will still be a lot weaker with saylor in) rolando/sissoko/goofy/cabella can all cover for eachother and we have plenty of no10’s but 1 no9.
still no excuse for pards though imo as he can always change the formation and gameplan to work to what players are availables strength’s.

“I can’t possibly say anything about my tactics for upcoming games. It’s far too complicated to get into anyhow. It’s all here in my little notebook. Johnny C can you add anything?”
Johnny C: “Yes, I’ll swear to it. It’s right there in his little notebook. It’s bloody brilliant is what it is. And if I hear as much as a boo from wor supporters somebody’s heed’s coming off!”

Comment #99I believe that there are a few cases of Yaws, Beri-Beri and the odd smattering of Chagas’ Disease in the camp.
Certain that we always have a problem with Sleeping Sickness. And Mike’s case of Yellow Fever could explain Pardew still bring employed.

Ever wondered why Ben Arfa, who is regarded so highly by so many Newcastle fans, is rarely selected for the French national side?
My interpretation of what you are trying to say is if he’s that good why can’t he get into the French national team….would that be the correct assertion to make and if so by that reckoning can you please explain why a class player like Nasri can’t make it in there squad

“Many of you have me entirely wrong. I’m a man of the people. I’m a rambler and a gambler and a sweet talking ladies man…..well err enough on that for now. As I was saying I’m terribly misunderstood. I cant remember where, but i have read more than one account that Mr Nasri is also an arrogant tool. Maybe he is being managed better at his club, but it could easily be the reason he cant get a game for france.

I think i am probably agreeing with both of you in a way. At the moment, no matter how good a player is, he wont play for france if he is a bit of a c0ck.
The fact that HBA couldnt get a game for us or france probably points to mis managment AND the fact he is a bell end 😀

Comment #117And some final thoughts from Johnny C. for good measure:
“Give this man a fair chance. He deserves it. He’s the king. Give him say 3 or 4 more seasons minimum. I know we can finish top 19 with wor Alan in charge. Or possible given enough time top 18. Is that too much to ask? A few more seasons?”

Or it could point to mismanagement that led him to become a bell end!! I still standby the notion that this supposed trouble causing player was so much trouble that he kept his mouth shut and trained with the kids….never went to the press, never left the country or spat his dummy out.
