Maybe the reason Mike Ashley is not too keen to replace Alan Pardew at Newcastle at the moment, is that he is finding it difficult to line up a replacement – if that’s true that would be very worrying but probable nonetheless.
Mike Ashley – yes – we got a point at home to Hull
Here are three possible reasons Mike Ashley seems none too keen to replace Alan Pardew anytime soon:
- Mike likes Alan Pardew, which is fairly obvious since there have been two other times he could have been fired – the first time was in January 2013 when we lost 10 of 13 league games.
Last season we lost seven of our last eight league games but he still survived. Alan is almost the perfect manager for Ashley because he’s willing to work in the very strict financial conditions that Ashley places on the club – and he doesn’t complain – at least not in public – when Ashley sells out best players half way through the season. Where would he find another manager like Alan Pardew? - Ashley realized that the job wasn’t done in the summer transfer market to replace experienced Premier League players like Yohan Cabaye, Mathieu Debuchy and Loic Remy.
So the blame is shared between the manager not getting the best out of the players he has available, and Ashley and Lee Charnley failing to bring in good experienced players over the summer, to replace those who left. IN sort – Ashley feels guilty. - Ashley is having trouble lining up a replacement for Alan Pardew, It’s no secret now the way Mike Ashley runs Newcastle on a shoestring doesn’t exactly mean that Newcastle will be successful anytime soon.
Ashley’s ambitions for Newcastle are simply to keep us in the Premier League and in the upper half of the table if possible – so we are not fighting relegation.
We will then continue to get the big money from the PL and Mike gets all that free publicity at St, James Park for his Sports Direct business.
Perfect.
But Ashley also has no ambitions to make Newcastle a top six side for instance, and any ambitious manager may realize they will be (very) frustrated if they do accept the Newcastle job.
The final reason is the one that worries us the most, because it’s no secret now that the way Mike Ashley runs the club means Newcastle will never be successful at anything- who wants to manage a club like that?
We devalue the cups so we field weakened sides and don’t progress too far, and we just don’t have the players to ever challenge for the Premier League title – it’s absurd to even think about it.
That’s the truth.
Would you want to come to Newcastle under those circumstances?

Comment #44I’ve noticed that quite a few people have said that they don’t want Pulis as he is only a middle table manager and what is required is a quality manager.
Newcastle is a mid table team. Real quality managers ie those that win trophies don’t go to mid table teams.
We will probably get a new manager that fits our status as a mid table team.

Comment #45hey guys how’s it hanging?
Iv’e a few reports last night and it seems even if we lose against Swansea Pardew still will NOT be sacked regardless of the result.
to me this is pathetic and I truly believe now that our beloved club ain’t a club any more.
all it takes to get these tw@ts out of our club is to not go for a few games ( maybe 2-3 games max )
Iv’e done it and iv’e been a ST holder for 15 years and never missed an home match until 2 seasons ago when I thought enough is enough.
people may think that not going to matches won’t change anything but I beg to differ on this situation here’s why.
1 – MA company has reached sky high around Europe 2 seasons ago because he controls Newcastle and with Newcastle being a world wide known club his profits have been better than ever and is still continuing to do so through Newcastle with advertisement of his company name.
2 – people may say such things as I go there to support the team not the regime BUT guess what! as soon as you buy a ticket you have already supported the regime.
so guys honestly we need to take our clubs name into context into ourselves, and like my famous saying we all need to say this to ourself’s if we want our club back to the way it was.
NEWCASTLE UNITED – UNITED FOR A REASON!

Ashley isn’t even looking for a new manager he has his no1 in the job.
Even now he’s getting more SD coverage due to Pardew and the fans win win for Fatty.
The only way either is leaving is if every time NUFC play or is mentioned SD’s name is dragged through the mud, so until we hurt his baby he’s here to stay along with his puppet.
The man sends kids to work in unsafe sweat shops anyone thinks he cares about NUFC or the fans is deluded 🙁

Comment #47There was a posting on blog site which controversely said that perhaps one of the problems in trying to get a new manager may be the torrent of personal abusive directed at the manager by some fans has made prospective managers think twice about coming to Newcastle.
I don’t know. Most, if not all, managers are fairly thick skinned and getting stick from the fans is part of the job but perhaps some of it against Pardew has touched a raw nerve.

Comment #53Personally think with a reasonable managerial choice the whole aura of the club could be changed in a matter of months if not weeks. Dont ask me who, but in the entire world there must be hundreds who would give their arm for the job, even though our stock may be at an all time low.

Comment #57Somebody definitely has a fetish with the word five at the chronicle.
Nearly every day there’s an article
The five reasons
The five questions for Ashley
The five key things
The five questions for Pardew
It’s always five.
Maybe they just cant think of any more than five.

Comment #58Of the 3 reasons given for Ashley not sacking P45due, the second one; that he feels guilty is a complete non-starter.
Ashley is only interested in the TV revenue for advertising SD, nothing more nothing less. He feels no guilt, why should he?
NUFC is merely a sub-division of Sports Direct. It has a role simply to bring in TV revenues. He will not buy in expensive players to secure a higher finish in the PL. Anything above 18th is ok. Best finish around 10th and avoid a relegation fight.
Even Ashley knows that he cannot replace P45due with a decent manager and expect them to continue working under the same restrictive financial constraints that P45due is at the moment.
I’ll bet had P45due been a manager at a SD store that was performing as badly as NUFC have been recently he would have been sacked months ago!
