Ciise Brace Gives Newcastle A Draw At Swansea

Newcastle United earned a decent draw at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon, with two goals from Papiss Cisse, as the lads twice came from behind and clung on for a vital point – so we now have 4 points fr0m our first seven games of the season and we are now 3rd bottom of the league.

papiss cisse scores again

Papiss Cisse – scores again

And it was that man Papiss Cisse who converted probably the only two chances we had in the whole game, and this man could yet be the one who can save us this season.

Swansea went ahead after 17 minutes though Wilfried Bony, and it was poor defensive work by Newcastle, but then Gabby Obertan provided the cross that saw Cisse sweep the ball into the goal just before half time after 43 minutes.

Swansea had been the better side and went ahead again after 49 minutes, and it former Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge who was put through by Sigurdsson, and he scored easily.

But then with 15 minutes to go substitute Sammy Ameobi crossed, and it was that man Cisse again in the right place at the right time to score his second goal of the afternoon for the Magpies.

Four league goals this season and that’s twice as many as he scored last season in 24 league appearance.

We’ll have a report of the game out shortly.

Let us know who you think was Newcastle’s best player today.

tads sorry i like to watch the full game without trying to reply or type

but so having another manager that isn’t upto the job is the answer?

have a look at the press the sackpardew got?
    why isn’t there a sacktheowner.com site
with a full stadium of the right discontent?

again i’ll say i can’t wait for our next manager under ashley……… no really i can’t!!!

people keep on quoting the einstien quote for pardew but it is exactly the same to the people who think ashley will employ a great new manager ffs!

Pardew needs to go, but I am now convinced so does Colo. He has clearly lost a step, but it seems he has also lost interest. As a captain, this is unacceptable. He was caught ball watching too many times. I think we should bring in a new manager, who should then shake things up a lot. The talent is here to finish “high” mid-table, but not running the same formation and XI over and over and over and ….

Dummett, Williamson, Colback, Obertan and Gouffran shouldn’t have started. They shouldn’t even be on the bench.

Anita is miles better than Colback. He is better on the ball and has better balance. Colback only gets the start because he’s english.

    @blubber

Better than you gutless fools who is targeting the easy Pardew. Scared to challenge Ashley who us the real culprit? Who has refused to give the cb and cf pardew so badly wanted.

A new manager may come and come January Ashley won’t strengthen. When results go bad you guys will hold banners asking for removal of the new manager. Whole Ashley sits there laughing.

    Losers.

This team is a grab bag of rubbish player bought for bargain prices. It’s pretty clear that we’re going to watch lousy games all season, Pardew or no Pardew. Thank God for Cisse and Tiote, though I’m sure we’ll sell Tiote come January.

There he goes again, perpetuating myths and making sweeping statements about a fanbase and their actions, almost to the letter as I’d imagine Pardew muses in self-pity.

Pardew needs to show faith in Armstrong. He is ultra loyal to his senior pros to the point they know they won’t ever be dropped as long as they don’t mutiny. But that loyalty which has kept him the dressing room is costing us points. Collo, Williamson, Sissoko, Gouffran all need a few games on the bench. They will come back better.

Also Cisse has been “unpardewed” after a few months away from training. Back to the guy we signed from Germany.

    repost

the thing is strikers don’t really guarentee goals until they in there mid twenties, even tierry henry total number of goals in his first five years at monoco was less that his average overall at arsenal.

also when you see how the fans have reacted to dummetts poor forward play, they blame dummett himself so if armstrong missed lots pardew could be expecting him to suffer the same too and when cisse did return armstrong was sure to be the loss.

Good Lord, more Anita love? Give it up. He’s small, slow and has average skills. The guy’s a speedbump for opposing players out there. This is a bad team, make no mistake. Play whatever combination you want in any formation and you’ll get the same results.

that is without doubt the hardest league in the world so under these constraints good luck to our new manager that will be ashleys choice and god help us!

Cisse pulled out out of the mire in this game with his two goals. That defense and lack of pressing from the front is the entire reason that we did not take all three points from the game. I’m hopeful that Pardew will start with a 442 next game home against Leicester, but I know he’s going to revert to form and play a 451, again.

The lack of marking, ball watching, general malaise around the pitch with no closing down of the ball, (Cisse seemed to be the only one along with Tiote bothered with closing anything down), is going to see us in the bottom 5 all season and probably relegated.

The only way to protect our defense is to press the ball with the forwards and mids high up the pitch. Make them make the mistake in possession. Instead, we let teams walk the ball into the final 3rd, and then start to press, inviting the pressure. It will also leave more players up the pitch so when we do get possession, we actually have outlets up top to play to and support the lone striker, (because truthfully, Pardew isn’t going to abandon the 451), and we might actually provide more of a threat to teams.

We bossed the last 15 minutes & might have escaped with an undeserved win if Rivvy had converted his opportunity. Obertan looked quite good today as did Cisse, Tiote, and Sammy. Goofy looked useless. We need to go 4-4-2 more often.

Obertan had a good first half but nowhere to been seen in second. Anita is a lot better than Colback, skillfully, observation, quicker thinking and keeps calm. I don’t rate Colback at all. he played ok for the first few but since Tiote came back not the same, maybe stealing his light.

Ilovetoon Armstrong and Perez would have been miles better than watching the likes of gouf left wing for christs sake!! Even if we have to play gouf put him up front rivière has looked demoralised chasing balls up top all season on his own. The question is we had riv and cisse available today pardew is on the brink and the formation has not been working I think everyone in the world would have changed it to 2 up front from the start. Also the official formation is always a 433 lmao he must think we don’t watch the match when the wingers spend all game in defence..

i mean how can a fan actually predict a 3-0 loss when he wants to show support
especially when he reposts actual SUPPORTERS that hoped we’d win last week!!

ashley keeps showing signs of an owner who will happily keep him.

instead of thinking about the overall result lets just hope parjew will fcuken start sammy obatan and cisse in the 4-4-2 ormation, also start playing saylor as Cb because saylor might make mistakes but he has got newcastle at heart and his defending will see much more effert put in.

it sums up the truth really.
proves good players can perform well with a crap manager.

So most the players in our team are not that good in the first place, cisse had a bad time the last two year but now is scoring goals for fun.

even obatan and sammy are better in the team than cabbella and gouffran.
