We’ve Got To Get Our Season Up And Running Now

Newcastle fans may grumble about Alan Pardew as the Newcastle manager but since the Southampton disaster the Newcastle players have worked their socks off in each of the last four games, and today they just wouldn’t give up although Swansea manager Garry Monk will be unhappy they didn’t get the win after all the possession they had.

papiss cisse scores again

Papiss Cisse – another two good goals today

Alan Pardew was pleased with the obvious determination and fight from his players who were second best today,m but still came away with a point – and with a little luck we could even have snatched the win – even though we didn’t deserve all 3 points – but that’s what happens when your players just don’t give up.

And Alan thinks we could get our season up and running – if we can win against Leicester City at home:

“One thing you have to analyse when you’re a football manager is ‘Is the team giving you everything?’,” “I don’t think our worst critic could argue against that today. They gave me everything.¨

¨We would like to have a little more confidence in the team. We would like to have a bit more flair. But that will come if we can get a win. We’re probably a better team than we’re showing at the moment.¨

“When Swansea take the lead, it’s very difficult to claw it back because they keep possession so well. But we showed so much character today and fire in our bellies.

“We were determined to try to win the game. And in the end, I think that was evident. At two-all, the game was going from one end to the other. That’s not really what you do when you’re away from home but we wanted to win today, we wanted to really push for it.”

“We’ve got to get our season up and running now.” “I don’t think I’ll ever get a boring fortnight at Newcastle. I haven’t had one since I’ve been there.” ¨Hopefully, I’ll look forward to our next home game as a win.

“We know there is tension in the stands and in the stadium and that isn’t going to go away in the short-term. What we must focus on is our performance and I think we got a little bit to lean on today. Hopefully, we can win the next game and we can all settle down.”

Alan Pardew has bought himself some time and his team some time, but now we have to go all out for a home win against Leicester City in two weeks time – and with better results the confidence of our players will increase.

It must have been a fiery baptism at Newcastle for our new players – but that will stand them in good stead for the future.

And finally a word of praise for the traveling Newcastle fans this afternoon – they were terrific – absolutely terrific – and especially in those last 20 minutes when Newcastle were pushing for the win.

After all – even with everything going on at Newcastle at the moment,  it was still a good point for us today. 😀

I would go for pulis. The job he did at Palace was great. And that was with a weaker squad than Newcastle. However, i would only give Pulis a 1 year contract so that by the end of the season we could get someone, hopefully de boer.

I fail to see why pulis is a bad idea. He took control of a palace side destined for the drop-just like us- and transformed them into a solid BPL team which played good football. Open your eyes mate, that is what we need at the moment. Our defence is better then palace’s, so he wouldnt have a problem sorting that out.

They still looked lost amongst themselves. Cisse has literally saved Pardew another loss.

In his post match interview Pardew said we threatened all game. With three shots on target or whatever it was in the end, Alan? More lies. We were crap apart a bit of pressure in the last 15 mins or something.

The low standards he sets is abysmal.

No surprise that Cisse picks off the goals with ease INSIDE the box. He should have this service all game, not a couple of rare times.

Regardless of whether you think our plight is down to Ashley or Pardew or the crowd or the length of the grass or sudden drop in temperature there’s surely no denying that any manager, and forget NUFC, at any club at any level with this record:
    In 2014 LLWDLLLWWLWLLLLLLWLLDDLDLD

    Fully deserves to be sacked
There is simply no debate what so ever, no manager at any club would still be employed after a run like that

you fail to see that he works under owners that he trusts!

you fail to see that there defence is better than ours plus you fail to see that there team is actually better than ours

they actually have proven english league players that we never fuskin have!!

There will be a lot of disappointed fans even if Pards ever was sacked. Mash wouldn’t get someone to push us forward, he’d get a like for like to fit in with the regime.
No manager could turn our current squad into a top 8 side, we’re simply not good enough.

You seem to still failing to grasp the basic idea that despite transfers etc the one basic duty of a manager is to organise the players at his disposal
Pardew has failed that miserably, never in 20 odd years supporting the toon have i ever seen such disorganisation on the pitch
    Nobody knows there role
    Nobody knows there responsibilities

Ffs even in the league cup when i went to the game NOBODY knew who the penalty taker was
That 100% is on Pardew and is simply not good enough

I don’t think anyone would say Pulis or a Moyes would be there ideal replacement or even in there top 10 but to think they wouldn’t come in and get the squad organised at the very least and play as unit is pretty ignorant

At this moment in time they don’t need turning into a top 8 side, they need to be turned into a team that will still be in the league next season, under Pardew at this moment in time, that isn’t happening

The way its going now if Pardew stays in charge I can see us being adrift by Christmas so even if we get a great manager it might be impossible for us to get the 40 points needed it might even be more points are needed to be sure this season as a lot of teams are evenly matched

    @Manxpie

Not strictly true about the “favourites” thing Sammy and Obertan were excellent in our pre season while the ones who have started ahead of them have not been good for a while! Pardew is very reluctant to drop people for younger players and last year Gouffran and Sissoko deserved to be dropped not just because of the last few games they have been terrible for ages now !!!

Must admit though Sissoko looked a lot lot better when Colback went off and we went 442 it was almost like he knew what he was doing for a change it could be that extra man in the middle confuses him and Tiote and they end up losing the ball or doing nothing as they dont know where they need to be on the pitch

People forget we are in the most watched league in the world there will be thousands of applicants for the Toon job even under Ashley ! The squad we have at the moment a lot of managers could get us performing no problem !Sometimes we just have to take a leap of faith and take a chance on a young manager it might not work but Simeone, Rodgers, De Boer, Pochettino and even bloody Gary Monk show if you give someone an opportunity they can make it happen !Hell even Neil Lennon would be a major improvement on Pardew !!

I dont think Pardew will be sacked though he will be in charge till at least March I think as Ashley will give him more players to waste in the transfer window

Is it possible we can get worse on defense? We were abysmal today at the back. Congratulations to Cisse and Sammy but many of the rest were terrible. Colo and Willo are more like onlookers now. We’ve let in 13 in 7 games. A big question for me: Is it time to use the genital cuff on Pardew?

Four points from 7 games. Four! Our manager has a winning percentage of 0 after nearly 1/5th of a season. And now Pardew says everything will be all right if we beat Leicester.

pulis and moyes strengths is getting the team to play as a team make it hard to break down and the rest is built on that

when we finished 5th it wernt pretty but our main strength was our team play and I think a certain desire to be first to the50/50s we aint got any of that

Leicester are a good attacking side. Then we have Spurs and Liverpool. Hmmm. Number of points from these 3 games? I see 1 point as a possibility. So that would be 5 points from 10 league games. Exciting stuff that.
