Newcastle Now Interested In English Winger

Newcastle have been credited with an interest in 18 year-old Birmingham City left winger Demarai Gray,  according to reports.

Demarai Gray

18 year-old Birmingham winger Demarai Gray – Magpies interested

Former Newcastle player and coach Lee Clark is the manager at Birmingham City, and Gray made his senior debut last October against Milwall, as a 91st minute substitute in a 4–0 win, when he was still only 17.

The youngster has already played for the England U18 and U19 sides, and Newcastle are always interested in recruiting good young players, and a new priority on Tyneside is to get more Englishmen to the club.

Demarai played 9 times with one goal last season, and he has already played 9 times with one goal this season, so Newcastle will keep watching this lad,and we could sign him next summer or even in January.

It’s also not beyond the realm of possibility that we could loan his straight back to Birmingham,  as we did with Nottingham Forest players Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow.

However, Demarai has been impressive so far this season, and bigger more ambitious clubs than Newcastle – namely Liverpool and Arsenal – are also said to be keeping tabs on the youngster.

We expect Newcastle to keep bringing in good teenagers to the club,  as we try to recruit what turns out to be top players for the future.

Newcastle will not pay out big money these days for star players as awe used to under Freddy Shepherd, so we try the cheaper option and scout good youngsters who can then develop at Newcastle into top players of the future.

Unfortunately when and if that happens, we then sell them for big money – that’s what’s so frustrating about the way Newcastle are run these days – money is more important than the strength of the team.

But that’s the way it is. on Tyneside these days.

Surely, the priority at the moment has to be the “Today & Tomorrow” before we end up being relegated.

Once FCB and his puppet have secured survival this season – thats basically all we have to look forward to – then they can look to investment for the future!!

I’m not sure where these rumours come from – Gomis hahahaha as if, some young kid at Brum who isn’t doing that well hahahaha

I may as well make up stuff myself, it’s as valid as any of this other guff on the internet.

Why are we being linked with strikers and wingers? It bloody defenders we need, good strong centre backs.

Pards to be sacked this week…

It is rumoured that the relationship has gone Mr Frosty between Ashley and Pards this week where Pards was specifically told that Swansea was a must win game and that he must set the team up to win.

The HP quoted “He said he was more than happy with the player purchases and thought he could challenge the top six – Ashley is rightly furious at the quality of the football currently being played”

The meeting is scheduled for Monday with an announcement that a mutual parting of the ways has been agreed.

mindshaft @2 – I’ve always thought on a quiet news day that sports reporters just make up stories knowing clubs will not bother suing etc.
Gomis is unhappy, Newcastle were interested therefore make up a story we wll bid in the next tranfer window, Similarly Birmingham have a promising youngster, Lee Clark is their manager therfore make up a story linking the player with us etc etc.

If that’s true we are well and truly rooted. De Jong injured, two quality players sold and not replaced and he’s furious because He thought we could challenge top six. Even Ashley must recognize how absurd that is. God help the next schmuck, if it’s true, and us.

Replacing Tiote and Cisse during January (longer should they be injured) will take real money. Forget about 17 year old wingers from Brum or medical specimens like Andy Carroll.
