More Bad News For Newcastle

It’s another terrible injury blow for Newcastle today as it has been confirmed by the club that Tim Krul has suffered ligament damage to his left elbow.

Tim Krul – crocked training with Dutch squad

The 26-year-old Newcastle keeper suffered the injury while he was training with the Dutch squad last Saturday, so once again one of our best players comes back from International duty crocked. 🙁

This is what the club have just announced:

“Newcastle United have received the results of goalkeeper Tim Krul’s scan on Monday. It showed ligament damage to his left elbow and Krul will be assessed further by the Magpies’ medical staff ahead of Saturday’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Leicester City,”

So that means Tim is going to be out for a few weeks and Rob Elliot will have to deputize, and we have to hope nothing happens to Rob, because we don’t have a lot of experienced cover after the Irish International.

Tim was an ever-present for Newcastle this season, and had been showing some very good form lately.

This is even more bad injury news for the club.

So we’re lumbered with that worthless twat Elliot ? Pardew’s lapdog ? The goalie who was between the sticks for most of our worst and most embarrasing defeats last year ? So we’re going to see Padrew-itis at it’s worst now for months ? relegation is ON

As we know ‘vocal’ supporters on social media are in the minority, if there is some kind of attempt to be persuasive, it is misdirected and ineffectual. PR should be less about the media and more about generating a reciprocal environment between the club and fans.

Elliott is ok. But we’re gannin’ doon regardless. I got 10-1 from Paddy Power in August. What price our derby game in 2016-17 being against the ‘Heed ? I can’t see us coming back like last time. The heart will not be there.

Elliot Is a a very decent keeper. Even krul was end of pathetic scorelines.

    Enough of the gloom.

Tbh you can’t really ask for more as back up than an international first choice keeper, Forster battling with Krul would have been ideal but Forster had higher ambition and seen what happened to Harpers international career, I’ve no doubt that Harper would have played for England with some of the dross that featured in between Seaman and Hart.

JFA—- yeah i think your right about Elliot, when you think not many clubs have 2 great keepers, he is ‘ ok’ and will do a job, but, does it really matter who we put in ? we are bottom of the league already with a great keeper so if Elliot can get us off the bottom , hes done his job.

Would always rather have Krul in goal, but don’t mind Elliot as a backup.

A lot is made out of the club letting Forster go, but I’m not sure a lot could be done as he wanted guaranteed football. I’d have kept Krul at the time too – probably still would.

GK is one area I am happy with, thinking current, back-up and future.

So, just the defense, midfield, strikers, owner, management and coaches to sort out then…should have enough time before the Leicester game…

Wonder how it will be before Coloccini’s back plays up and he needs to go back to Argentina to watch San Lorenzo and be with his family over Xmas?

I know it’s a bit cynical but he has missed his early season vacation.

I always wished we had a keeper made up from Krul’s shot stopping ability and Elliot’s distribution, for me they are both about even overall.

But any keep needs a good defence to help him and we just don’t have one.

Pardews decision making is straight out of a comic book, he lurches from one cock up to another and relegation gets closer with every one of them.

Stuart….Ah yes, we may be asking a little too much of the club to have them sorted by the weekend as well.

    We must be reasonable 🙂

mag92…This is an assumption, but it could be that part of the deal to get them was that we’d loan them back to Forest for the season.

    So,
‘plants’ may be invading the blog? Maybe even the master himself (Ed, that is) is in it? He did write a semi-praising article about MA didn’t he?

If I were Mike, I’d have this place crawling with plants. Hell, revolutions happen on social media these days! Is this bishop guy an older fellow?!

Lads, lads, relax. Next thing we know we’ll all be scared to death of being pardewed! …..-confession: I have, a bit, I’d be happy if we just didn’t go down this year 🙂

Just trust your own opinions while keeping an open mind about opposing ones, simple 🙂

If Pardew actually kept hold of MYM and the two he loaned back to forest he would have had a decent bunch to pick from, but he’s a substandard chancer who’ll be gone shortly due to his own incompetency.

    Ibiza,
My plant would establish himself as a fairly balanced person, who seems to not be firmly in the anti- or for camp. That way, this person’s views would carry more weight. Now, who holds this persona. Let me think…..;)

Cyrpus…Sorry mate, you lost me with with talk of balanced opinions and opinions carrying more weight. Do you have the right blog?

mag52…Whilst I agree that just because someone holds a differing opinion does not automatically make them a club plant, I think a fair whack of the “paranoia” is justified. I would and i’m not half as sneaky and nasty as wor beloved owner.

Nearly addressed that to the wrong poster. I’m going to have watch my 5’s and 9’s.

The world evolves around plants , spys , grasses, undercovers, all industries hire these nasty creatures to expose to their heirachy the real filth that threatens their wealth , their ambitions, ( we’re ok on that point) Their goal in life and get the diposed of by grusome , unnatural methods so they will never speak thie mind in public again. YES, Ashley has his army of evil trolling the network , fishing out the devils who despise and retalliate against his regime. this is not being paranoid , this is the world as it is , so my advise is tread with caution , always have one eye looking south and one looking north if you can do that , then tell me how to do it coz i f@@ing cant.

Kruls’s injury is disappointing but Elliot is an able deputy – I’d rather it was Krul than Cisse where we don’t have a backup. Goodness knows what some of you are like in the real world – the first sign of trouble and you’ll be Private Fraser – “We’re’ doomed, doomed I tell you” 🙂

If in the next match we were to set up like the France team with Cabaye; and similar to when he was last with us, our last successful spell. We would have two holding midfielders either side of a central midfielder who could carry the ball forward or provide through balls. The holding midfielders would cover the fullbacks and also arrive late into the opponents box in attack. On the right there would be an strong player with plenty of drive, who would also fall back inside to potentially stop a counter attack. On the left a wide forward with quick feet and a good right foot that would dart infield. Finally in the middle a sticker that relies on reflex reactions to score. Based on this model and only for the reasons above I would probably select:
    ———– Cisse
    Cabella ———- Sissoko
    ———–Abeid
    Colback ——— Anita
    Haidarra -CDx2- Janmaat
