We’re not sure why the news got out today, that Tim had suffered ligament damage to his left elbow, but the club have only just issued a statement on their web-site saying it is a minor injury to Tim’s elbow, and he is fit to play on Saturday.
Tim Krul – fit to play on Saturday
This is that statement just issued by Newcastle United:
“Tim Krul has been further assessed today by the Club’s medical staff and the Club can confirm that he has nothing more than a very minor elbow injury.”
“The Club will continue to monitor the situation but are confident that he will be available for the game against Leicester City on Saturday.”
This is on the Newcastle web-site so it must be true – and it’s very good news for Newcastle United.
Again we don’t know why the news was widely reported this morning that he had damaged the ligaments in his elbow.

Comment #82Big news today mates! It turns out we’ve signed a top young prospect. Yes, his name is Horace Mook and he plays for the South Fenwick Scramblers! Wonderful news! Graham Carr managed to convince him not to sign for the Tewkesbury Rovers by telling him Mike will pay him slightly more in his second season with us! Beautiful! Well done Graham and Mike!!!

The story of last season was that we built up such a cushion by Christmas that it took us until April to begin to fall back into mid-table. Even with us in relegation mode, the teams below us were win-some, lose-some. Even if we do win this weekend, we won’t gain a place unless Everton lose at home to Villa. Burnley also have a chance to improve their goal difference. There’s a gap already, and that could really sink in if we lose and Everton win. If you have a go at the predictor, even thinking with your heart, the picture that emerges is not pleasant. These are the realities beyond the spin.
Pardew talked about 48 points being a good season. Which makes me believe that tenth is now a highly acceptable result for this season, rather than the minimum it was claimed to be last season. Another quiet downgrading of aspirations, in my view. If you aim for the stars, you might hit the moon. but if you aim for the middle, its easy to hit the bottom.

We can’t defend and only Cisse seems able to score, which isn’t a recipe for victory.

Comment #98Hang on a minute! Am I being blamed for smiley censorship? 🙁 Surely not! I never proscribed smiley use, I merely posited to Magscar that his method of using them looked like a coup de grace to a smug punchline. As it turned out I conceded it was more likely a case of print mistranslation thought process and original intent. There, I said it, whatever it is I was saying 🙂
Oh and yes I do smileys.

Comment #101G2 – it would be polite to answer stretford ender, he lives on the other side of the country in Benwell, near salford. He has no idea what the north east I’d like, except that’s it’s only a wee place with wee clubs. Especially sunlin. That’s a wee-ey club all right.

Comment #103Two factory workers are talking. The woman says, “I can make the boss give me the day off.” The man replies, “And how would you do that?” The woman says, “Just wait and see.” She then hangs upside down from the ceiling. The boss comes in and says, “What are you doing?” The woman replies, “I’m a light bulb.” The boss then says, “You’ve been working so much that you’ve gone crazy. I think you need to take the day off.” The man starts to follow her and the boss says, “Where are you going?” The man says, “I’m going home, too. I can’t work in the dark.”

Comment #111reyantoon at 5-01 am grenier is still injured. gignac is the sort of old fashioned cf who would do ok in prem but could not see him signing for us at 29 but he is the reason they are top.watched lille a number of times very well organised they were third last season but against lyon their defence was dreadfull, playing a high line with our 2007 flop 34 yold rohzenhal caught out constantly. lacazettes 1st goal was from a freekick when him and another were clearly offside.the second he for once he used his strength barged the only defender off , most refs would have dissalowed it. his third he dribbled and then shot home. he was given too much time ,space by a defence that made ours look good.he only misshit one shot on the day which is good for him .think either arma or perez would score more goals than him in france as the standard is dire. lacazette always looks cold wearing extra long sleeves and making sure his hands are nearly inside them the cold in the north east would probably make him ill all imo.
