So there were 22 present which is a healthy attendance, and that’s good to see.
And here are some questions and answers regarding Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa’s last minute loan move loan move to Roma, and whether on-loan central defender Jamaal Lascelles can be recalled in January.
He cannot – so those recent stories saying he would be recalled and maybe Steven Taylor would go the other way, were not accurate.
Q: Brian Parkin “What was the thinking behind getting rid of a centre back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa on loan?”
A: The move was sanctioned in the interests of all parties. There is the possibility that the transfer could become permanent at the end of the loan period at around the fee Newcastle United initially paid for him.
The club added that it had initially reached a verbal agreement for a replacement defender in the summer. Because the deal with AS Roma took longer than expected, the replacement transfer was no longer possible. The club’s view was that the deal to allow Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa to leave was in the interests of all parties and, after taking the medium-to-long term view, the club let him leave.
Q: Sarron Lee: “Is it true that the club can recall Jamaal Lascelles from Nottingham Forest?
A: It was stated that the club are delighted to have secured both Jamaal and Karl Darlow and while they will be big assets to the squad in future, it was not true that they could be recalled from their current loan deals until the end of the 2014/2015 season.
So it looks like we had a center-back lined up to replace Mapou (wonder who that was?), but since Mapou was sent out on loan almost at the last minute on September 1st, it looks like the move for his replacement broke down and left us short of a center-back – at least until January.
It also looks like letting Mapou leave on a cut price deal is not true, and the club expects to get close to what we paid for him – €8.5M which is around £6.8M – and that will probably happen next summer, although there have been reports Mapou could move permanently in January.
Maybe we should do that deal in January, and use the money to bring some new players in?

Comment #1Dont mind us selling Mbiwa if he did not want to play for us and it was not working out
The problem was that we did not sign a defender to replace him
Some of the football logic at this club never ceases to amaze me !!

The fans need to be aware the club brought in 9players in the window.
The fans are fully aware!
Aware we let 13 players leave.
Aware we loaned out 2 of the 9 we brought in.
Aware a loan player Ferreya hasn’t been seen yet.
Yes the fans are aware the club is run by a bunch of liars and inept fools who keep gambling with the clubs future to save a few quid for the parasite who owns the club!

Comment #3if the plan was to get rid of Mbiwa and replace him with a CB which we would obviously need… then where was the planB for if/when that other deal fell through?
Should have kept ahold of Mbiwa if this was the case. We dont have any eager youngsters pushing to get in to the squad so bad move IMO!
Saylor needs to step up as Colo isn’t interested and Williamson is, well…… Williamson!

Comment #4It is encouraging that we are actively looking to replace the players we sell and are not just replacing our best players with cheap imports. The future is bright.

Comment #5Striker & CB in January is a minimum requirement. MYM can leave if it suits all parties. If HBA can play his part then he should be recalled. <<< Not very likely though.

Comment #69 players were brought in, numbers are
irrelevant they don’t camouflage
quality, or more to the point-lack of it.
This is Graham Carrs department, sadly
his judgement is impaired – 3rd bottom
is testament of this. He is not the solution
but a major part of the problem, the others
are well documented.

Comment #7It used to be santon but it is defo colo who is the weakest link and hes the captain what does that sat a manager with balls would have made the call and took the captaincy off him and gave it to someone more deserving problem is that I can’t think of a player more deserving so we are really fcuked a captain un capable and no players worthy players to replace and a manager and owner without a clue nufc must really be cursed

Comment #8“When Jurgen addresses things like that way, it’s totally right. The biggest mistake we could commit now would be to belittle the sporting crisis,”
– Dortmund’s chairman speaking to the press regarding Jurgen Klopp admitting he hasn’t been good enough.
wish we could get even the same out of even one of our manager or chairman, whoever the latter may actually be. Seems like they care about the club. This whole circus with us lately has been percy’s dire attempt at self-preservation…..never anything really to do with the club or fans

i’m right there with you. Carr is a good scout but a good scout will never be correct 100% of the time, and it’s quite clear he and Pardew have massive differences in opinions on players and where they can fit in and improve the team.
If AP is the gangly, disheveled hand we’re dealt, let him pick his s*** players and fall well and truly on his on sword……that being if you don’t think he’s already impaled himself a hundred times already

Is there published minutes of the rest of the meeting online?

Comment #11One of the most worrisome things for me is the fact that the management group (Ashley, Charnley, Pardew) seem completely oblivious to the fact that we are in deep doo doo. Let Mbiwa leave at the last minute and do nothing about it. Sell Cabaye with no proper replacement. Let Remy go again with no proper replacement. Weak on the wings but don’t bring anyone in or bring in inexperienced young players with no chance of having enough time to adapt because we are constantly under pressure to get a win. A ridiculous situation getting worse by the minute.

Comment #12It may be too little too late by January. I suppose there might be 3 teams as bad as or worse than us, but just barely and only if we don’t get injuries to key players. Huge risk being taken once again by the dimwit Ashley.

Comment #14Matty NUFC – you are forgetting that P45DUE has virtually no say in who comes, who goes, or when!!
Now it could be said that is a good thing, but it also provides him with major deniability when it comes to team performance and ability. If he didn’t select them, how can he be blamed for their lack of performance? Its just one of the vast number of problems with how FCB runs the club.
That he is failing to get the best out of the players he has, is inexcusable, but the selection criteria seems to provide him with a perfect excuse!! It doesn’t alter the fact that he’s crap though!!

Comment #15Some other possible questions:
How soon can we expect to see Pardew receive a good fonging from Charnley?
What kind of idiot allows a CB to leave at the last minute before bringing the replacement in first?
Who other than Ashley actually has a real say in which players the club bring in?
Is it true Ashley is actually catatonic and possibly brain dead? He doesn’t even seem to know enough to wear a coat in the rain.

Comment #16if you would have said to me at the end of the season we would be starting the season with 3 centre backs and the 4th would be either streete good or satka
I would have taken that
I didn’t see mbiwa going though while its a shame it didn’t work out for him,
good at 21 and satka mbabu streete all around the 19 mark should all be onloan if were not going to play them
st Mirren have been having players from us for the last couple of years while I am not a fan of the league it was offering us playing time to our player and I thought a useful link
we don’t send any to Gateshead any more either Rotherham were interested in buying vuckic they not even bothered with a loan again could have been another useful club to link and send players to
abeid went to the greek league came back a far better player a year in the championship he would be ready for us he will like other regress playing in the 21s and warming the bench the list is far to long to list all the other players
while most of the players wont be stars and prem standard they should still be developed to be sold with players in the championship now being sold for 10mill its an extra source of revenue if we developed them properly

Comment #18Don’t worry beermonkey mate, we’re going to be in the Championship soon helping to develop good players for Prem teams. It will be the only way for Ashley to make any real money once we’re relegated. It’s all part of a cunning long term by Ashley of course. He used to call it following the Arsenal model. I’m not sure what he’s calling it now.

Comment #28Have to agree beermonkey mate. We probably wouldn’t come straight back up this time. I reckon the chances are 50/50 we will go down. Charnley seems clueless as well. Letting Mbiwa go without a replacement? Absolute madness with such a thin squad. Now there is very little experience up front or in midfield (especially with de Jong out) to anchor the team. In the past we’ve had good senior players to help us along like Barton (like him or hate him he was a good player on the pitch) and Nolan. Huge risk being taken for no sensible reason. Ashley has well and truly lost it this time.

Comment #30The stealth hand of Keith Bishop. All attendees well briefed, all questions vetted and responses carefully crafted to reveal nothing and contain the situation.
We are though in actual fact third bottom and deserve to be there on form, and have been the worst performing team in the league for 2/3 of a season. That’s quite clearly true, despite and whatever the club might say.

IMO the best we can hope for this season is not to go down and Pardew replaced at the end for not reaching the top ten.
