Pardew’s BBC Interview After Fourth Successive Win – Video

alan pardew 1-0 win liverpool

Alan Pardew bemoaned the loss of Gabby Obertan in the first half this afternoon, with what he calls a serious thigh injury – but apart from that it was another good three points today for a Newcastle side, who are getting better and are seemingly on the rise.

Here is Alan Pardew’s BBC interview after the game.

How does wanting a manager that has had a disastrous 2014 sacked equate to being a Mackem exactly ? . Wouldn’t a Mackem want Pardew here so the poor results continue .

Yes we have had a good run in the last few games, but that doesn’t make up for our previous results this year . Funny how Pardew is getting all the plaudits when things are going right but “its the players fault” when we are losing .

Pardew has a long way to go before I even start to think about forgiving the man .

I hate Pardew for all the b0llox we have seen this year. But, i will give him credit for the way he has handled the situation and more importantly how he has got the team playing.

I always hated how he would play his favourites over youth players or players on good form but he has shown now that he is starting to understand i.e… Ameobi for gouffran…aarons for obertan. I think all this negativity which was rightly, imho, aimed at him has made him a better, stronger manager and has made him see which team is the best to play. His substitutions in these recent games have been spot on. He is shoeing signs of improving and the whole team are in great form. Pardew should have been sacked, but the players are playing for him and that has been a massive factor in our results. Therefore, i dont think he should be sacked. Just for that reason. However his record this season is diabolical and i understand completely why a lot of toon fans still want him sacked.

But great result today, we are on the up. And long may this continue.

    Manxpie,
Reply to what, one of your posts where you have perceived one of my thoughts, if somebody goes out or is busy with something else you take it that your extremely clever post is unanswerable, I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be answering to.

Some fans would back pardew and MA if they took us to the conference………

What is the actual point in this type of statement apart from trying to pick a fight.

    @ Welshie

Am I supposed to give credit to Pardew for dropping Gouffran today despite me myself saying it for about 6 months ? .

Am I supposed to overlook our shocking set pieces again today ? .

The majority of the time people have valid complaints .

In what was a typically mundane 12.30 kick off game the standard of attacking football was pretty dismal. However, apart from Cisse, the starting line up could not be argued with and the tactics deployed put a stop to an under-performing Liverpool. Abeid was fantastic and Sissoko is beginning to show more consistency driving the team forward. The biggest laugh was Janmatt taking Marios legs out and a huge relief to get a winning goal. Hopefully the result will bring more confidence and generate more goal scoring chances. There was still at times a disconnect with Perez up front left on his own and a more determined team would have made more of a game.

Well last four games has proved that we have played better without Gouffran, Williamson and Anita, and the fact that Sammy and obertan have done more than gouffran.

You are putting words in people’s mouths and if you didn’t already know you can criticize a win and many managers do.

    Arise Sir Alan!Ha ha.
This blog is nothing if not entertaining.. Love some posters taking credit for getting Pardew, – or should I say Parsnip, King Percy, King, to name but a few very grown up alternative call signs? – to pick the teams they have been suggesting for ages. I love these suggested team selections and the abuse the manager gets if they don’t get followed to the letter. As if the armchair blog follower has all the necessary info (eg. Player fatigue, Attitude, Conversations between players / staff, How someone’s performing in training, any niggles they may be carrying on a day to day basis etc etc etc). Maybe the manager role should be changed to a people’s republic and everyone can make the decisions.
Another win! I echo the congratulations and feel good factor today, another move in the right direction. Long way still to go but it’s great none the less!

Laurent Robert has not been heard from on this site since our win against Man.City.
Can anyone confirm the rumour that his time has been taken up with altering the 3000 ‘Sack Pardew’ banners into ‘Back Pardew’ banners ?
Look out for them at our next away game.

I am being deliberately obtuse in response to the query about disappearing moaners, you need to decide which you want. Or perhaps let each and everyone express their own opinion with out fear of attempted intimidation for the sake of a better discussion of the facts. Rather than perpetuating ((not really pointing the finger at you)) the rather boring name calling that serves no purpose and keeps people away.

Whilst we may have only won 3 games out of 10, we have also only lost 3 out of 10. 4 draws.

It’s not shocking, especially now we have picked up 3 wins on the bounce. Plenty of positives to move on with. Victory away to Spurs, wins and clean sheets against Leicester and Liverpool.

Hard fought draws that we have shown great fight in coming from behind.

    The cup. Outstanding win.

Westbrom and QPR are there for the taking.

If we can bring in two wins it will be more than a decent first 12 games to the season and should put us top 8.

I personally think these are two nailed on wins. Or at the very least 4 points.

Obertan will be missed. What a shame.

As a Newcastle fan of over 20 years, I reserve the right to my opinion regarding the club.

The form leading up to our recent streak was unacceptable, the excuses that were made for it were unacceptable and as a result he should have been binned.

He wasn’t, and instead of returning to type he’s appearing to learn from his previous mistakes. Playing players in their strongest positions, honesty in his interviews regarding performances, giving the youngsters / in form players a deserving run. Credit where it’s due, he’s made the right noises recently and long may it continue.

It’ll take a long while for me to accept he’s good enough for our club but if he carries on as he has recently I grow to accept him again. Fair play to the bloke, he’s doing well and deserves credit a long with the team for recent results.

Newcastle have sussed that playing with pace power and pressing the ball wins games. Apparently Liverpool had 64% possession yet only 2 corners to our 7 and 6 shots to our 14.

Think the west brom, QPR games will be tough though, some people seem to think we should be thrashing teams such as wba which just isn’t going to happen

I hate Pardew for all the b0llox we have seen this year. But, i will give him credit for the way he has handled the situation and more importantly how he has got the team playing.

the guy was / is in a win win situation, he deservesr no credit what so ever
if he gets sacked he walks away with a nice pay day, if he stays and puts up with the crap, he gets a nice pay day.
just a few short weeks ago he had no problem in telling everyone he had a long contract and had no plans on walking out, and this is after 9 months of total garbage football, and now after 4 RESULTS he is a hero again in most peoples eyes,

Leicster and spuds, were really poor games , yes we played for 20 minutes v spuds, but that is not 90,

he admitted that he fielded a weakened team VS Man C, and pulled of an amazing result that was matched by the performance,

today he was forced into playing because of the great performance on v city, yet we really had a shocker of a game IMO, 2 poor teams, Liverpool being slightly worse than us they had nothing up front,

My heart goes out to Cisse, the guy just does not get a break from p45, iv been reading about how poor he was up front, yet I don’t see it that way, Cisse needs people around him, he needs people to create for him, yet in the first half I seen none of that, Sissoko was a headless chicken again in the first half, I didn’t think we really had a plan for going forward, it seemed to me that our soul job was to stop Liverpool coming forward

he may have 9 points out of his last 3 games, but im still scratching head as to how,

but at least he has dropped Goofy, he has well and trolley been pardewd
