Alan Pardew has just announced the Newcastle side for the game at West Brom today and there’s one or two surprises – no Steven Taylor, Papiss Cisse or Rolando Aarons in the line-up – although Papiss Cisse makes the bench.
Teams:
West Brom (4-4-2): Ben Foster; Andre Wisdom, Craig Dawson, Joleon Lescott, Sebastien Pocognoli; Graham Dorrans, Youssouf Mulumbu, James Morrison, Chris Brunt (c); Victor Anichebe, Saido Berahino
Substitutes: Boaz Myhill, Cristian Gamboa, Gareth McAuley, Chris Baird, Claudio Yacob, Stephane Sessegnon, Georgios Samaras
Newcastle (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Daryl Janmaat, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara; Moussa Sissoko, Mehdi Abeid, Jack Colback; Remy Cabella, Ayoze Perez, Sammy Ameobi
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Ryan Taylor, Mike Williamson, Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran, Adam Armstrong, Papiss Cisse
Referee: Craig Pawson (South Yorkshire)
Paul Dummett moves to center-back, where he played well at Manchester City, and Massadio Haidara comes back in at left back.
Mike Williamson is back on the bench, so we have to think that Steven Taylor, who has struggled with injury over the last few years at Newcastle. is injured.
Unfortunately, young Rolando Aarons has not recovered from the knock he picked up this week.
But the three players Pardew is playing up front are all quick and skillful, and 17 year-old Adam Armstrong is also on the bench.
Newcastle will have to be near their best for this game, and 87% of fans think we can get something out of this game.

Comment #5Apparently we are playing 4-3-3. I have to say I am surprised there is no Gouffran with his goal scoring record against West Brom.

Comment #8Ryan Taylor would have been an interesting selection to play at Right Back. There will be free-kicks with Cabella in the team.

Comment #11It is pretty typical of Stephen Taylor to find some form then go missing.

Comment #12pardew might think we will dominate this game, therefore he is giving dummet more experience. Haidara better going forward, help us attack due to more possession ?

Comment #16Staylor must of of got his obligatory season injury. Although dummett looked good against city it’s a shame because as much as I and many others have slagged him off he’s actually played well in our little run.
Disappointed aarons hasn’t made it as he’s been a little bright spark for us.

Comment #18To be honest I think this is the best team that we can put out at the moment well done Pardew as he could easily have had Anita and Gouffran back in Dummett is a good centre back means we have Haidara and Sammy on one side which is rapid counter attack !!
Pretty excited now !!

Comment #19Yeah, where is rivvy? The kings not mentioned him at all lately. He’s mentioned tiote, willo, aarons and cisse of late regarding injuries but nothing about rivvy. Strange that.

Comment #23Line up is okay. Not happy with the choice of wingers. Sammy is always a slow starter when starting a game, makes much more impact coming off the bench. Whiles cabella is the opposite. Starts off good and quick, but is so light weight he gets snapped and can’t stay in the game.
Personally I would have gone with cabella starting and Sammy coming on his place at half time. With perez centre and Riviere on other side.
Also another problem I see with the wings is we only have gouffy on the bench, and two centre forwards in armstrong and cisse.
We needed two wingers on the bench and only one striker. Perez mite have 2 shift to the wing later. Personally I think Riviere should have been on the team coach rather than armstrong. I actully think Riviere should have been starting over sammy as Riviere can play wing and has speed and strength.
Was looking for a win b4 seeing the line up, now I can see us running short of ideas going forward, our 4-3-3 system is going to be pardewed!!!!

Comment #27What’s Bellamy banging on about now? Newcastle fans thinking they’re as big a club as Liverpool? Fine, some fans are on the deluded side but they’re by no means a majority.
Why can’t people like him get it into their heads that we just want to see a team that gives 100%?

Comment #28Obertan and aarons are the biggest miss. But when cabella plays on one wing, we need strength and pace on the other wing to even it out

Comment #29andrew84 – I noted Bellamys’ comments as well – clearly a false impression of what most fans want.
it does seem an empression often spouted by others!

Comment #31I can see them scoring from a set piece today, Wisdom,Dawson and Lescott are all great in the air and brunt has great delivery.
Due to injuries it looks like square pegs in round holes again with either Cabella or Socks on the wing when they both are better in the middle.

Comment #32Andrews don’t listen to anythin Bellamy says, he an idiot. He ovbiously taking Liverpool side over ours. cause he played for us one time doesn’t mean he knows anything about us. How much do u think he knows about man city, or half da premiership that he’s played for

Comment #38Abeid has been absolutely brilliant in the engine room. i expect him to control this game in the middle of the park with his industry.
but why are we having so many injuries? i thought we signed some everton physio and he was suppose to awesome at preventing injuries. it’s worse with him?

2 things always p1ss me off about pundits comments like that…
1) none of our fans are deluded for wanting Pardew out during that spell and wanting a man with the worst record in the top tiers of English football doesn’t make us fickle or think were a big club…
2) Since when the f**k are Liverpool still a big club?
