This Is Newcastle’s Probable Starting Eleven At West Brom

We still have a few injuries – Davide Santon, Siem de Jong and now Gabby Obertan are out for a while – and we also have some doubts today at West Brom with Papiss Cisse, because of that knee of his, and also with 18 year-old Rolando Aarons, who took a knock in training this week.

Rolando Aarons

Rolando Aarons – doubtful for today

In addition Cheick Tiote will not be fit for at least another couple of weeks.

If we assume Papiss Cisse and Rolando both make it,  then this is likely to be the team Alan Pardew will start today:

Janmaat Taylor (S) Coloccini (c) Dummett
Sissoko Abeid Colback
Aarons Cisse Ameobi
Subs: Elliot Haidara Taylor (R) Gouffran Cabella Riviere Perez

If Cisse is not fit then Perez will start,  and if Aarons cannot play it’s likely that Gouffran will start, after being on the bench for the last couple of games.

It will be a pity if Aarons isn’t fit to play because like Sammy Ameobi, he gives us a lot of speed on the wings.

Confidence is rising among our fans, with 56% thinking we can win this game and only 12% believe we will not take anything out of this game.

I’m feeling good about this one. Spirit and confidence are half the battle, and we’ve got them in spades right now. Would love to see Obertan and Aarons on the flanks but it’ll be Gouffran and Ameobi. I’m happy to see Pérez start up front alone, though. Let’s hope he bags a couple. What’s the news on Riviére?
