It Could Have Been A Lot Worse For Mehdi Abeid

Mehdi Abeid has taken to his Facebook account and said he thinks he will be out for two weeks with what is a broken toe, but well have to wait until the Newcastle medics take a look to see how bad it is.

A solemn Mehdi Abeid after breaking his toe

Here’s Mehdi’s Facebook account and as you can see he’s disappointed about the injury.

Here’s what he said 14 hours ago:

¨Yes I got injured. Will be out for a couple of weeks after a choc with a teammate in training, I would like to say thanks to all fans who have written with support.¨

And here’s what he’s posted within the hour:

¨Disappointed to be heading home. I’m sad to not have honoured my 1st selection for the National Team. Hoping to come back stronger than ever!¨

If it’s only two weeks he’s likely to miss the home game against QPR and the games at West Ham and Burnley – and we have to hope that Cheick Tiote is now fit to play Saturday.

Cheick damaged his calf muscle in the warm-up for the Leicester City game on Saturday, 18th October, and has been kept back at Newcastle during the International break for treatment.

It looks like we may soon have to now rely on some of the established stars at Newcastle to keep our winning run going. 😀

We hope Mehdi is only out a couple of weeks, and you may want to send him a note to cheer him up – it’s a pity he didn’t get his first cap.

But the way the lad has played in the last three games he could be a star for Newcastle United in future seasons.

We hope so.

This kid has shown he can be even better thanTiote – and that is some achievement for such a young player. Hope he is back to full fitness soon!!

We should play with 4-4-2 then, cisse perez on top and the same team down stairs that beat wba. Simple math. We clearly dont neeed possesion haha.
