Newcastle Open Talks On Deal for Exciting Teenager

If you believe the Chronicle then talks have already started, and if that’s not true then the Shields Gazette today is reporting that Newcastle are ready to open talks with winger Rolando Aarons on a new long term contract.

Rolando Aarons

Rolando Aarons – turned 19 years old last Sunday.
So one way or the other we’re certain Newcastle will soon sign up Rolando Aarons to a new long term deal.

There has been news in the last week that Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in the winger, and yesterday Arsenal were added to the list.

Next week we’ll probably see Manchester United and Chelsea also interested – whether that’s true or not.

But it should be a fairly easy procedure for Newcastle to update Rolando’s contract and give him say a five or six year deal, as one of the most exciting young prospects at Newcastle for some time, and the youngster is already getting a lot of attention form some big clubs.

Aarons has only appeared 5 times Newcastle with two goals so far this season and is again out injured with a hamstring problem, but he was exciting in pre-season, and had some great games for the side over the summer and this season.

Aarons was an excellent acquisition just over two years ago from Bristol City,  and the Jamaica  born player has since made rapid progress on Tyneside.

We assume Manchester City are interested him because of his goal after just six minutes at the Etihad in the Capital One Cup, when a team of younger and less experienced players from Newcastle beat a City side full of big name signings.

One reason Newcastle want to sign Aarons on a long term contract is to protect the investment in the player.

In that case if he does become too good for Newcastle, which happens for the some of our best players these days, then at least Newcastle will be well compensated if and when he leaves.

It is believed that Rolando is currently on a one year deal at Newcastle – his first professional contract – with a year option the club can pick up.

He’d be mad to go to city they’ll ruin him as they have with other youngsters. Hes better off staying put as he’ll get more game time which is what he needs at his age. He has plenty of time to play for the big teams.

King Percy needs to get young Aarons signed up as soon as possible. Same goes for Sammy who has definitely progressed this season. Toon fans have been denied seeing players with the ability to dribble past opponents.

No dribbling past the opposition in King Ps rule book, players must always be goal side of any attacking player. If a player gets dispossessed they are already 5 yards behind.

” then at least Newcastle will be well compensated if and when he leaves.”
…for ‘Newcastle’, I suggest you should substitute the word ‘Mashley’.

Sammy needs to go out on loan. 30 games in a row somewhere would do him good.
