Newcastle Linked With English Left Back

Newcastle were linked with Ipswich Town’s Tyrone Mings a couple of months ago,  and there are reports again that Newcastle are keeping tabs on the 21 year-old – who stands 6’3″ tall – it must be those hamburgers.

Tyrone Mings

Tyrone Mings – 21 year-old Ipswich Town left back

Tyrone has got his chance this season after another Newcastle target – 24 year-old Aaron Cresswell – left Ipswich for West Ham in the summer for an undisclosed fee, and has been playing very well for the Hammers so far this season.

But at the moment Newcastle are fairly well off at left back, with local lad Paul Dummett having come through very well this season, and young Frenchman Massadio Haidara continues to show up well when he gets a chance in the first team.

And Davide Santon will soon be fit again and ready to fight to regain his left back spot – and then we also have the experienced Ryan Taylor who can play in either full back position.

So Newcastle are well off at left back at the moment.

Tyrone is a good young player,  and he is attracting the interest of some top clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton – so we’d be surprised if Newcastle’s interest is strong in this player at this point.

Crystal Palace were said to have offered £3M for Mings on the last day of the summer transfer window, so there are a number of clubs who have been alerted to Mings’ very good form –  that has helped Mick McCarthy’s team get up to 4th place in the Championship, after finishing in  a decent 9th place last season.

Mings signed a new three year deal at Ipswich in late summer, which keeps him at the club until 2017, and he’s so far played 31 times for the Ipswich first team.

    expat,
    No worries cobber,
    Friendly advice is :
If you have a smart phone hold down on the text you wish to copy with your forefinger until a set of cursors appear, drag the cursors over the text you wish to copy and then press the the file icon that should appear in the top right of your screen. You should then recieve a message saying ‘text copied to clip board’. On the next thread press down in the comments box until the words ‘paste’ appear.
    Reposting in a nutshell.

    south coast toon,
As much as I enjoyed the ‘what’s too good for Ashley’ posts they ran their course and I also ran out of things that were too good for him.

What times m&m’s pre match interview

I’m calling Pardew m&m from now on, not because he’s the real slim shady but because he loves microphones & mirrors.

    My attempt a t a joke 🙁

Cheers mate, I don’t live far from training ground and at one time it was easy to have a look and see who was training.

After seeing that I may have to get up the hill at Rising sun with binoculars in future.

morning gents – whats going on today. Mmm – expat causing bother, welshie on probation -with an apology.
Not sure about this Jonas story – the chronology of the events just does not seem clear -suppose we’ll just have to wait to see if anyhing else transpires.

Was reading up on Equitorial Guinea a couple of days ago – whilst a lot of Afrcan countries have the corruption label attached -this lot definitely are bent as a nine bob note, and have been for years -a cruel family dictatorship. I think Moroccos’ decision not to host ACON was correct -at the moment we just do not know whether the ebola crisis in parts of West Africa can be halted. Watched a Panorama programme about it a couple of nights ago – most distressing.

Not much on the blog about the ongoing farce at Fifa. Taken a funny twist now after Fifa suddenly reports matters to the Swiss authorities. I’m waiting for a scam or twist in the tale about their latest U turn. The whole lot of them are dodgy -people need to boycott them and get them prosecuted. Expect the FBI will do the work -when others have been complicit in their crimes.

expat – joking aside – the blog was becoming an unpleasant experience. I hear what you say about ignoring certain folk – but on many an occasion when I logged on -my initial thoughts were oh no not that lot again -as it was apparent some were just on for the sake of a ruck and it was impossible to “discuss” things with certain others. Hopefully, some sort of order has been restored.

It isn’t it fair to say though, that any remotely pro Pardew, or God forbid, remotely pro Ashley view would get hammered right down in the past. Hardly an ideal forum then for a fair and frank expression of diverse opinion. I actually think the blog is healthier now than I’ve seen it, perhaps ever.

ACON I took this from another article, games Tiote Cisse andAbeid could miss.

With the tournament scheduled to be played between January 17th and February 8th next year, including call up times and other commitments, the three players could miss as much as six weeks Newcastle United playing time.

In that time, there’s a possibility of missing the FA Cup 3rd round, a potential 4th round game, 5 league games and we’re also a Spurs (at White Hart Lane) game away from a 2 legged league cup semi final.

That’s a big chunk if matches for a six week period.

I definitely think Gutierez is coming back to train and see out his contract and quite possibly to confront Pardew, in a fairly passive aggressive way, or if you prefer, peaceful protest.

I don’t believe the reporting on it though.

There’s surely no way Pardew would tell him to look for another club days after he’s undergone treatment for testicular cancer. Unless he’s said that he won’t be allowed to train or play at Newcastle until fully recovered, and if he wants to, he’d be better off looking elsewhere, and something’s been lost in translation……but even then, it all seems a bit ripe.

Said before but Abeid is a major doubt to make the Algerian squad! He was called up this time as it was a meaningless game but they have a very settled successful and experienced squad and no friendlys left to experiment! If hes going to break into that hes going to need to play in the majority of nufc ganes between now and then and ive got a horrible feeling he’ll be second choice to Tiote with Ryan taylor also adfing competition for the DM spot!

Feel for Jonas! Seems a top guy and a top professional! But the fact is he wasn’t good enough 18 months ago as virtually everyone on this blog mentioned at one stage or another!
The only value he’ll have is hes possibly the best choice to deputise Janmaat as a back up right-back as he did ok there for argentina and we have no real back up there

I suspect Abeids injury has made his chances of going less likely, considering by the time he returns he’d most likely only have cpl games to impress.

    Stranger things have happened though.
