There have been recent headlines about Jonas Gutierrez being upset with Alan Pardew, because when Jonas was struggling with his testicular cancer last year, the Newcastle manager seems to have been very cold and simply told Jonas that he would have to find a new club, and basically that his time at Newcastle was up.
Jonas with girlfriend Alejandra Maglietti in Buenos Aries recently
We knew about that particular situation last January, when Jonas went out on loan to Norwich City – but it wasn’t until September that Jonas revealed he had been fighting cancer for over a year, and in September he was having chemotherapy treatment.
This is how Jonas described the situation with Pardew:
“Halfway through December the manager Alan Pardew decided the best thing for me would be to look for a club.”
“This was communicated to me just after I re-joined, 20 days after I was operated on, and when the only thing I wanted was to train and to feel and get better.”
“While I knew it would be tough to earn a place once more, I never moaned about not playing.” Alan Pardew decided the best thing for me would be to look for a club. “
“For that reason I will never forgive him for what he did to me. That said, I want to keep on thinking that it was a purely a football issue and not for any other reason.”
So that was last December, after Jonas had already had surgery and lost one testicle to cancer – when the Pardew comments took place.
Maybe Alan will get a question on that in today’s press conference?
But we’d be very surprised if Jonas still bears any grudge against Pardew, because one thing you learn very quickly when fighting cancer with everything you have – is that life is short and is also precious.
Too short to hold any grudges against anybody.
It would be good to hear from Pardew today on how he sees this situation – but again we are hoping that when Jonas arrives back at Newcastle in a short two weeks time, that everything will be fine between him and the Newcastle manager.
Certainly he will be very warmly welcomed back by the fans.
Then the question will be whether Pardew play Jonas in the first team, if he gets back to top form again?
There’s the rumor of a clause in his contract that if he plays a certain number of games for the Magpies, then Newcastle have to renew his contract – but we don’t know if that has any truth to it.
Jonas Gutierrez has so far played 194 games with 11 goals for Newcastle.
What do you think?

Thank you for the advice but asking me if I am a man or a mouse didn’t come across as friendly but implied that I was someone who ran off and told tales. The multiple poster in question made the blog impossible to use and had so many different user names all with abusive insults that it could not be ignored. Abuse does not bother me expat, this is a blog where only a handful of people who use and read it know who I am, what does bother me though is when because of a persistent troll(s) other people stop using the blog and therefore giving people like welsh geordie the blog to himself, I complained because of this and not for personal abuse.
Runaway,
My apologies, this is all over this mornings papers, I wonder if Pardew will be allowed from the PR macvhine to give an explanation in time for todays presser, that Bishop guy must be charging a few quid.

guti was a very loyal servant to us and his personal problems was very sad and i wouldnt wish that on anyone.
i defended him more than most by pointing out he was not as bad as others made him out to be but even i could see he had for a long time lost his was and didnt deserve to be in our team ! he was only picked because he was a “pardew fave”.
he was told to find a new club before this season and before we knew about his cancer “not that it would make a difference to his situation as you dont keep a player because they are going through a bad time”
now are those trying to put blame on pards in this instance trying to make a point of he shouldnt be telling guti to get a new club after his contract ends here because he wont be getting a new contract when we have mostly all been screaming for guti gone for 2 or 3 seasons now ! was it the fact that he had bad timing as he’s clearly a mind reader (even though he gave him support and the team motivational talks around winning for guti) ? or maybe his former illness has changed peoples views into thinking he’s a far better player because of the illness and would prefere him over cabella/rolando/obertan ect ect ?

Comment #4Taking quotes above at face value –
Guti was told to find another club AFTER he had been diagnosed AND after he had had his operation.
Not sure if that timeline is correct.

Comment #5what a c*nt that c*nt pardew is. he’ll not like having an influential player around who dislikes him. i guess he’ll ship him out to prevent him disrupting others.
if this is true, it could explain why colo hasn’t been putting in 100% over the last few years
