Newcastle have been playing very well of late – five wins in the last five games (sorry that I seem to repeat that a lot these days) – and now we’re up against QPR at home on Saturday, and the opposition have half of Newcastle’s points total – 8 points from their 11 Premier League games.
Harry Redknapp – confident of QPR win
But that hasn’t stopped manager Harry Redknapp from coning out and saying he is confident his team can play well at Newcastle.
Harry knows Alan Pardew well, and he had this to say prior to the game on Saturday:
“They’re playing well. Alan was under a bit of pressure like a lot of us come under when you lose a few games, but he’s come through it fantastic and they’re bang in form.”
“They’re playing very well, but we’re playing well at the moment.” “The last four games we’ve played well and we certainly should have a few more points on the board than we’ve had the last four weeks.”
“We’re settling in and players are starting to find their feet at the club.” “We bought a few new players in who took time to settle.”
“We go to Newcastle in decent heart and we’re quietly confident we can go there and play well.”
Harry’s a good coach and he has done well over the last few games in getting QPR to be a decent outfit, and the players are starting to work hard for each other.
But it would be a surprise if we cannot get another win on Saturday, against the team who are second bottom of the league.
It’s a cliche but it’s also very true that no Premier League game is an easy one these days.
But of course you can never tell with Newcastle, but another win would show that the players coming in for some of our injured stars can get the job done this season.
And that has to be a positive thing.
