Is Midfield Star Hinting He Wants To Leave Newcastle?

There’s a photograph of Cheick Tiote wearing an Arsenal shirt that is starting to do the rounds on the Internet

The photo has only just been uploaded to his Facebook account, so what’s the significance of him doing that – always assuming Cheick was the one who did it.

There was news in the summer that manager Alan Pardew has confirmed, that Cheick Tiote was unsettled and wanted to leave Newcastle – maybe even in January – so putting that picture up on his Facebook page is hardly appropriate right now.

And that coupled with the fact he has only appeared four times for Newcastle so far this season,  and has been out for five weeks with what was initially termed only a slight injury – will lead some people to believe he is keeping himself for January, when maybe he will push for a move.

But of course we would never suggest that. 😀

Cheick denied he wanted to leave Newcastle in the summer and said the comments published had been erroneous translations of what he had really said – and that can happen.

Cheick picked up his latest injury in the warm-up to the home game against Leicester City on October 16th – five weeks ago – which was the first of five wins on the trot for Newcastle, and his continued absence is strange at best.

We just hope we are not getting into another circus in January,  when the transfer window opens again and for the second year running we lose one of our best players half way through the season.

And that’s especially true when we are starting to do well – but come to think of it we also had been doing very well last season – when Yohan Cabaye was suddenly sold.

But there again maybe it’s just a daft prank that nobody thought through too much?

What do you think?

I think Roberts will make the bench, with Perez, cisse, riviere and even gouffran I think it makes more sense to have Roberts involved than Armstrong.

Although would be good if both feature.

Hoping we get a two or three goal lead so streete can get a run out too. Austin and fer are the only two qpr players I rate. Caulker is overrated.

If we can get a decent fee then let tiote go. Abeid can easily take his place in the side, plus tiote does miss a lot of games.

I really hope we win this one. Always do of course, but at times I view games with some misgivings or even trepidation, more often with a slow to develop nervous excitement, but this one I really want to win. Six in a row! What a way to answer your detractors. Whatever you think of him, you’d have to admit, after what was it, 9 points in 8 months or something, and howl after howl of derision raining down on him from the stands, six on the trot, would be about the best “f you” imaginable, without actually having to say it. Nobody is biting on this one, Ed. Tiote has always played wholeheartedly and often responded to such rumours that he loves it here. Why don’t we leave it at his word until there’s real news to the contrary?

Tiote will turn 29 in June so it’s probably the right time to sell him to get good money for him while they can. That’s what I expect to happen. I also think that he won’t be too heavily involved from now on to keep the risk of injury down to protect their asset.

Not sure if selling Tiote would be a good move !

But if he does go, a good fee of at least 15 Mil would be okay with me ! Prefer to keep him though but !

Cashley would take anything from 8 to 12 million for the lad In my personal opinion. His fight on the pitch would be a great miss.

Given that he’s not been a regular so far, one could say Tiote wouldn’t be missed.

However,if he did go in January, we’d lose a player who gives 100% when he does play. Do we have a Tiote equivalent to call on if/ when Abeid say’s not available?

Can we afford to weaken an already thin squad in January?

We’ve seen the effect of key players leaving in January has on the club and in the light of that, we shouldn’t sell him.

I hope Ashley’s got the sense to resist any January move for Tiote because with the tv revenues this year, we don’t need the money to show a profit.

In short, Arsenal or Liverpool or whatever, are likely to pay as much for Tiote in the summer as they would in January.

So in short, strengthen the squad in January and do not sell Tiote to do so.

Maybe he’s borrowed the Gooner top as his other T shirt’s in the washer?

The sleeve does not look right to me….

    possibly a hoax.

mind you I still think he has already been sold. Thought this weeks ago. Must be a good price for us to protect him this long from playing snd possibly getting injured

I honestly think Tiote has been found out. He often gets tackled now when he does the attempted sidestep and swivel back. If we getdecent money let him go.
I’d rather keep Moussa Siisoko any day.My real worry is that Ashley will let him go in January
