Michael Owen Backs Newcastle

Newcastle seem to have a tough game today at home to QPR,  but former striker and now pundit Michael Owen thinks we will be able to win and make it six wins in a row.

And Michael makes some good points in his analysis of the game:

“You have to go back to April 2012 for the last time the Magpies won five on the spin in the PL but they have such a good recent record against QPR that they are a confident selection.”

“The R’s have lost five of the last six games between the sides and their recent improvement in form has been at Loftus Road.”

“The Hoops currently have the worst away record in the division and are still looking for their first point on their travels this season.”

QPR have looked good against both Liverpool and Manchester City – but both of those games were at home, and they don’t look as good on the road – as Michael points out.

And that will be one thing that manager Harry Redknapp is looking for improvement in.

In their five PL games away from home they have yet to pick up a point, and have conceded 14 goals and scored just one, but their best result was a narrow 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last time on the road.

But let’s hope Newcastle can still win the game in what will be a bit of a patched up side – but 52,000 mad screaming Geordies could maybe help tip the balance? 😀

Nervous optimistic excitement for the first time in a long time before a game.

Wish there hadn’t been an international break… hope we hit the ground running again.

Had a nightmare last night that Remy scored a hat-trick against us but then I remembered he fucked off to sit on Chelsea’s bench.

I think Roberts will make the bench, with Perez, cisse, riviere and even gouffran I think it makes more sense to have Roberts involved than Armstrong.

Although would be good if both feature.

Hoping we get a two or three goal lead so streete can get a run out too. Austin and fer are the only two qpr players I rate. Caulker is overrated.

I’m just hoping for a win, our defence is going to be a problem I think, Colo and Saylor out, dummet is a good centre back, Willo coming back after a month!I think 2day is gonna be a tough game! I’ll be happy with a sloppy 1-0 win.
