Ryan Taylor Starts Against QPR

nufc emblemqpr

Alan Pardew has just released the team news and Ryan Taylor comes in for Mehdi Abeid and it’s the team we thought would start with Moussa Sissoko as captain and Williamson in for the injured Coloccini.

As expected Paul Dummett stays at center-half and in comes big Mike Williamson, in what will be a crucial partnership for Newcastle today, and in comes Massadio Haidara at left back for Newcastle.

Remie Streete is on the bench with both Colo and Steven Taylor out injured, and we also see Ferreyra – but still no Manu Riviere – although Anita is fit but only makes the bench.

Papiss Cisse is on the bench after he just arrived back from Africa yesterday from the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, and 17 year-old Adam Armstrong also makes the bench.

Joey Barton captains QPR against his old club – and he could be a handful for Newcastle this afternoon.

Teams:

Newcastle (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Daryl Janmaat, Mike Williamson, Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara; Moussa Sissoko, Ryan Taylor, Jack Colback; Remy Cabella, Ayoze Perez, Sammy Ameobi
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Remie Streete, Vurnon Anita, Yoan Gouffran, Adam Armstrong, Papiss Cisse, Facundo Ferreyra

QPR (4-4-2): Robert Green; Nedum Onuhoa, Richard Dunne, Steven Caulker, Yun Suk-Young; Joey Barton (c), Karl Henry, Sandro, Leroy Fer; Charlie Austin, Bobby Zamora
Substitutes: Alex McCarthy, Armand Traore, Mauricio Isla, Jordon Mutch, Junior Hoilett, Niko Kranjcar, Matty Phillips

Referee: Chris Foy (Lancashire)

This could be a tough game for Newcastle, but we have a chance to win it if QPR don’t somehow replicate their home form at St. James Park today – after losing all their five previous league games on the road.

Content with the lineup can kind of understand why Willo was picked over Streete

Raylor was a good defensive midfielder once upon a time
I hope that’s still the case
Great to see remi streete on the bench

Barton, Henry, Sandro, Fer – midfield for QPR.

Colback is in for quite a ride against that Motley Crew.

Probably the strongest starting 11 we could have fielded. Hopefully Dummett and Wilo wont have too much defending to do.

Good to see Pards resisted putting Gouffran back in which gives Sammy more chances to impress and become more consistent.

    Feeling positive….

The best line-up we have available based on what the players have shown at premier league level.

Our main pace is out due to injuries, so therefore it will be a tough game.
I’m not so sure we’ll get a win today.
    But fingers crossed.

Good line up in these circumstances. And we have something to look forward to when we have got set peces. Good to see over the wall Taylor start today. I’m going for a 2-1 win. The only thing that makes me nervous is our central defense duo.

Worst looking team in many weeks. QPR have played a couple of really good performances against Citeh and Chelski so hopefully they put in an ordinary one today

If we are to take control of the game, we are going to have to see some better link up play between Sissoko, Cabella and Perez

This is also a great opportunity for Sammy to make an impact with a few players out. He was awesome for 15 minutes last game but then faded out of the game

is Riviere injured? don’t recall seeing him in the training pics but he’s also never talked about like taylor, colo, tiote, abeid and Aarons were.

So could there be a bigger problem with him.

Some young players from the Club’s Academy joined in the session, while the likes of Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Rolando Aarons and Emmanuel Riviere worked away from the main group.

Happy with the line up. But the bench has
    1 keeper Elliot
    1 defender street
    1 central mid anita
    1 winger/forward goufran
And 3 striker armstrong cisse ferreyra.

Only criticism is 2 many strikers and not enough wingers to bring on for sammy and cabella

good test for Raylor today, Sandro and Henry are dirty players as can be Barton.

Cabella as well, as he’s struggled with the physical side of the game but there have been signs he’s learning and in time he’ll become a star player for us.

Probably some small issue with Riviere but if he’s not 100% why risk it when you have Perez, Cisse, Goofy, Armstrong and Chucky a lot closer to 100% fit.

I don’t think we’ll cope today. The backbone of our squad is missing. Throw in Williamson and that spells disaster.
