Elliot, Janmaat, Williamson, Haidara And Abeid All Start

Alan Pardew has just announced the side for the game at Turf Moor tonight and the four players who were doubts- Janmaat, Williamson, Haidara and Abeid all start the game.

Here’s the teams for tonight’s game with Newcastle in a 4-2-3-1 formationt:

Burnley (4-4-2): Tom Heaton; Kieran Trippier, Michael Keane, Jason Shackell (c), Stephen Ward; Scott Arfield, Dean Marney, David Jones, George Boyd; Ashley Barnes, Danny Ings
Substitutes: Matt Gilks, Kevin Long, Ben Mee, Ross Wallace, Michael Kightly, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marvin Sordell

Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Rob Elliot; Daryl Janmaat, Mike Williamson, Paul Dummett, Massadio Haidara; Mehdi Abeid, Cheick Tiote (c); Yoan Gouffran, Ayoze Perez, Sammy Ameobi; Papiss Cisse
Substitutes: Jak Alnwick, Remie Streete, Steven Taylor, Vurnon Anita, Remy Cabella, Adam Armstrong, Emmanuel Riviere

And it’s a pretty decent side with both Perez and Cisse starting this game and Vurnon Anita remains on the bench.

It’s a good time for the impressive Mehdi Abeid to return after he broke his toe while with the full Algerian squad a couple of weeks ago.

Mehdi will play with Cheick Tiote in front of the back four – with Cisse up front and Perez playing as the withdrawn striker.

Yoan Gouffran is again preferred to Remy Cabella, who is on the bench again.

More than half the Newcastle fans think we can win the game tonight, although 23% think we can lose the game – that’s almost double the 12% that thought we would lose at West Ham.

How Will Newcastle Fare At Burnley?

Heres that Alan Pardew has said about tonight’s opposition:

“I hold no fears of going to Burnley,” ¨I think they’ve done terrifically just of late. In fact, in the last three games they’ve got a better points total than us, so we respect them but we don’t fear them.¨

“We do also know that they’ll be gunning for us and we need to be ready.¨ “I think it will be a great result, whatever result we get, in terms of the players we have available.¨

¨I also think we can win, and we’ve got the players that can cause Burnley problems – hopefully we can.¨ “They’re going well though, and in Ings they have a player in form and a player who is impressing at the moment.¨

“They are a team who were kind of helped assembled by Eddie Howe, who I have a great deal of respect for, and Sean’s come in and taken it on magnificently.””He’s done an absolutely brilliant job and that club is a well-run club and a difficult place to go, for any Premier League team.”

It’s going to be interesting to see how our lads play tonight, but its a much stronger side than we expected, with all four doubtful players starting tonight.

Howay The Lads!!

No Creativity in this side whatsoever
Only Pardumb plays two defenisve midfielders , 2 centre forwards and no link between them

Sammy Ameobbi is the most creative player on the pitch! Wow. Pardew. Wow

This is Why Ben Arfa, and Marveaux left the club.
For creative players, Pardumb is the worst manager on the planet to play under

Why so negativ? There’s 13 injuries and the team looks pretty good apart from Willybum. 2 strikers, Abeid and Dummett have looked great thus far, fair enough Goofy could’ve been dropped for Cabella but I’m sure Cabella will get 30 mins. I’m happy with line up. 3-1 Toon HWTL.

Hold on… Why is everyone slating Pardew ? This is probably the best line up he could have chosen due to injuries and my guess is that Cabella is injured too. There is no way Pardew would have dropped Cabella for this game because he ‘dislikes creative players’. Get a grip.

    Toon KK and lifeguard,

Stick to your guns and don’t do a runner.
The health of the blog relies not on balanced opinions, but on a balance of opinions.
I am horrified at the mood tonight.
I have NEVER wanted us to win so much.

Honestly I am dumbfounded that Gouffran is still getting to play we should be bossing them with Cabella pulling the strings he cost 12 million and was in good form recently !

Unless he is trying to save him for Chelsea …..

Ben Arfa’s hardly set the world alight since he went to Hull has he.

Sorry, but he hasn’t been missed – a player who has his moments ain’t what we need.

Well if King Percy is playing both Cisse and Perez I can ony assume he’s going for it tonight. not sure Cisse will assist in anything mind. Good Abeid is back I only hope his injury holds up and is not made worse.
I am now revising my 2 -0 defeat to a 2 -1 win for us.

Players who have their moments is precisely what we have relied on to dig us out of the clarts (or clarets) for four years.
If Cisse hadn’t had a “couple of momentts” against Hull we might still be in the bottom three.

well cabbella is on the bench, my only guess is he isn’t part of the main team anyway because if they were both fit it would be arrons and obatan.

sissoko is missing today but he will be back on saturday so the question is which player does he drop on saturday because the player i would be hoping gets dropped is tiote and if he can’t even be bothered to drop tiote atleast make it gouffran what ever happens it had better not be abeid

Ugh. 2 DM’s and Gouffran against freaking Burnley… I suppose we are short of choice for the midfield spots but cannot for the life of me figure out how Gouffran gets ahead of Cabella, who looked like he was finally getting up to speed.

he needs a fair shot and some consistency in the team. Pardckhead is too afraid to start two strikers and not have goufy as cover. He plays it safe like a little biatch.

NUFCJackW: there’s negativity on here because there is stipidity on here. It’s become clear that Pards starts defensive looking for a break, and brings on trickery in Cabella and others once speed from Goofs has run legs down on the opposition. Genius is ain’t – but its been working.

To put this strong a team and bench that strong with so many unavailable is pretty bloody good.

It may not result in a walk-over, but the moaners aren’t moaning about the points this strategy has won in the last 6 weeks.
