Newcastle Try To Keep Their Best Player

One of the things that has weakened the Newcastle side over the last couple of years is that when a player becomes very good – like Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy – they want to leave Newcastle for a bigger club, and one of the reasons for that is the best players want to play in the top European league – the Champions League – and it’s hard to blame them for that.

Moussa Sissoko Leicester+AHSC-cdTGlhl

Moussa Sissoko – new deal for the French International

The latest player to catch the eye this season is Moussa Sissoko, who has probably been Newcastle’s best player – and the 25 year-old is relishing his role in the center of midfield.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Moussa in January, as the London side try to add some steel to their central defense.

Moussa signed a six and a half deal when he arrived from Toulouse in January of last year – so he is contracted to Newcastle until the summer of 2019 – but Newcastle want to improve the terms of the terms of his contract, because in the almost two years on Tyneside he has improved big time at Newcastle.

Moussa Sissoko also seems to be very loyal to Newcastle and could reject any move – much like Cheick Tiote has done in the past – although Cheick admitted his frustrations at Newcastle in the summer, and he could be on his way – either in January or in the summer.

Arsenal are also one of the clubs interested in signing Tiote.

Maybe this will be a new dawn for Newcastle,  and we will be able to keep our best players on Tyneside?

If we cannot do that, then it’s going to be very difficult to build a really good side that could challenge for the top four in the Premier League – which has to be Newcastle’s goal for the future.

Moussa has played 71 times for Newcastle with 8 goals, but unfortunately he is banned for the game tonight at Turf Moor.

What do you think?

I’m surprised we dont have ebay as our shirt sponsor – no decent bid refused on our player conveyor belt.

How a team is supposed to grow and develop with this stratergy is impossible.

unfortunately our club is going to be a stepping stone club until we start pushing for Europe. You cant blame the likes of Cabaye and Debuchy leaving a club that just plays in EPL to go to a club that play champions league. We cant just participate in the race for 8th every season otherwise this is always going to be the case.

Hope Streete gets his chance tonight. I think its a good opportunity to start Armstrong too, possibly up with Perez or in that no.10 role.

Even with injuries Gouffy on the bench, Cabella needs to start and we need to attack!

After the game, get Ings signed up Like Austin i think he’ll be a decent prem player and is still improving.

Pardew is choosing Goofy again. His non-life-threatening bout of intelligence didn’t last very long.

jj112 – of course we can compete in the race for Europe, the “management” simply chooses to make it as difficult as possible.

The bottom line would appear to be contentment in finishing 7th or lower – maximum tv income, league placement income – without the inconvenience of having to traipse all over europe, wasting time and money, risking relegation!!!

MA will be a very happy man – and that is the “Be all and end all” for us.

for a start it would be nice to have a manager who doesn’t say ” thank god we haven’t got Europe ” !!!

what folk need to remember is, pardew never thinks things through, he has one master plan A, he only deviates when he has an injury, then he claims credit, once he has his first choice back, he just dosnt understand why its not the same

Catchy @ 10 – you should have stopped after the 9th word. You would still have been correct and saved all that typing lol.

sad to see sissoko being shoved out on the wing again last saturday when he’s been so effective in hsi right position.

That coupled with Goofy starting, Willo hoofing everything and reverting to a 4231 over a fluid 433 makes you scratch your head.

AP didn’t learn from 3 years ago and possibly hasn’t again now.

    When all fit 433

    Krul

    Janmatt Colo Dummet Haidara

    Sissoko Abeid Colback

    ????? Perez Aarons

Moussa Sissoko”losing”is not that bad.We have Tiote and Abeid. And Bigirimana also.Normally he is the best option of all mentioned but he plays in BAD position on the pitch that is not his real natural position.Arsene surely will play him as a DM(new Vieira role). He is unstable anywhere else except in DM position.Loses too many balls.Needs too much space.

Perfect fit XI mate. Ober on the right if he keeps giving 110%. Otherwise it’s Cabella.

Hopefully Cabs has settled a bit more by the time Ober is fit again and he’ll have cemented a starting spot.

    Try to keep Moussa? Try?

All Ashley’s got to do is say a firm ‘No!’ to any advances.

    Easy. Job done.
