Can Newcastle Shock Chelsea On Saturday?

In last season’s fixture at home to Chelsea, Newcastle produced one of their best performances of the season,  when we won the game 2-0 and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho after the game said Newcastle  had deserved the win with the Newcastle players working their socks off for the team.

Newcastle captain Fab Coloccini – could start against Chelsea

This season Jose has Chelsea as a much improved side, who have won eleven and drawn three of their PL games so far, so they are unbeaten in the league  – so far.

We have seen our players put in 100% effort in a lot of our games over the last couple of months – and that has given us some good results, so we should be able to match the Chelsea players’ work-rate on Saturday.

But the question for Newcastle in front of a sell-out crowd on Saturday, is do we have enough creativity and skill in the side to match Chelsea and produce what would be a shock result,  if we can beat the Blues for the second season running in this fixture.

We should know who will be available and back from injury for Newcastle at Alan Pardew’s press conference today – other than the two suspended players at Burnley – Moussa Sissoko and Jack Colback.

We are hoping that both Fabricio Coloccini and young Rolando Aarons are available and if so – both could start the game.

At the very least we are expecting Newcastle to put in a good performance against what has been the best  team in the Premier League so far this season.

It’s not impossible to win this game but IMHO it’s unlikely.I’d be happy with a point but in football anything can happen. The bottom line is it’s eleven V eleven so it’s not a given that Chelsea’s going to go back with the 3 points. Our strikers are no match for them physically but with movement & pace we can make it uncomfortable for them.A performance is needed & I’m keeping my fingers crossed hoping for the best.
