Newcastle Beat Top Clubs To One Of England’s Top Youngsters

We had a report out a couple of days ago that Newcastle were trying to sign 18 year-old MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli for next summer, but there are a number of top clubs after the youngster,  who has been in top form for MK Dons this season.

Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are just three of the clubs after the youngster,  who has scored 8 goals in 18 appearances  this season,  and was a star man in the MK Dons 4-0 humiliation of Manchester United in the Capital One Cup back in August.

The 6’2¨ attacking midfielder has played a total of 62 times for his club with 15 goals, and there continues to be news that Newcastle United have beaten off other top clubs, and are expected to win the race to sign the youngster.

Alli looks set to leave the MK Dons, who are pushing for promotion from League One,  and his club may be unwilling to let their young star  player leave in January – with the MK Dons currently third top of the league and just two points off leaders Bristol City.

Dele has played for England at the U17, U18 and U19 levels – and recently got a call-up for the England U21 side.

This is some of what Dele said in the Telegraph back in September:

“England are producing young players,’’ “I’ve seen it with players I play with and against. People say that English players aren’t that clever but look at the style we are playing.”

“We have a good group of young players coming through which is great for clubs and good for England. There’s Raheem Sterling at Liverpool and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere at Arsenal.”

“We’re all trying to play the same way, keeping the ball, closing the other team down, not sitting off, dominating games with possession and attacking quickly.”

“That game against Manchester United gave me great inspiration because that’s where I want to be playing – in the top leagues against the top teams. “

“Everyone’s dream is to play in the World Cup and for a Premier League team but I’m happy here. I wouldn’t want to go and just be an Under-21 player. I’m definitely not in a rush to move on yet. “

That third paragraph is how Newcastle have been playing over the last two months.

That last paragraph could also be a clue as to why Newcastle could hold an advantage over other top clubs, because he would have a good chance of playing first team football immediately at Newcastle next season.

And Dele can look at the case of Ayoze Perez, who showed he was good enough when he arrived from Tenerife in the summer, and has already played 15 times for the Newcastle first team this season.

It would be a coup if Newcastle United can sign this talented young Englishman – and if you believe the news being reported – it looks like we are in with a good chance of doing just that.

Here’s hoping.

As we have been ultra-conservative in the past two games and missed out, how about dominating the midfield and giving the new signings another chance to shine against Chelsea. Cisse is not comfortable and is showing it, Perez is to young to do it on his own and winning is not an expectation.

    —–Riviere ———– Cabella
    ————— Sissoko
    —-Colback ———– Abeid
    —————– Tiote
    Dummett – Collo – S.Taylor – Janmaat

Stop their defense from pressing up high, don’t give their midfield time on the ball and hope the back five can hold out. In other words, do a ‘Burnley’.

He also says he doesn’t want to be an Under 21 player which is exactly what he’d be here until he’s 20ish so can’t see it.

I try not to criticise you Ed cause I think you do a great job. But that is a really poor headline. There’s no need for it. The majority of your readers will read it anyway.

Why does Socks only get a one game ban?
He got 5 yellows and a red too. Isn’t that 2 games?

Can see Pardew going with Colback, Abeid AND tiote in midfield and moving Sissoko out to the right! Hoping for no Gouffran on the left, Aarons might not be 100% tho and I think Sammy is injured?

The question about suspensions has lead me to look at the FA website for the rules, however I saw this up to date table:

Which includes Sissoko and Janmaat on four yellow cards and one away from suspension. Colback does not appear and would appear to have served his suspension. I presume Sissoko was, according to the rules, immediately suspended for the red card and the accumulated yellows still stand.

Also i’m pretty sure MK dons value Delle Ali at 10-12m based on how much Oxlade Chamberlain, Walcott and Bale cost at a similar age/development from that league?
We’ve no nee chance of getting him in Jan unless we loan him back as hes a massive part of their promotion push!
Got future liverpool or Arsenal player written all over him im afraid

If you’ve signed Alli up, play hard ball when Charnley comes in with an offer for him – get enough to cover your Xmas booze – £5m might do it?

‘The Mag’ have a readers vote:

Would you take Newcastle losing to Sunderland in return for a Cup Semi-Final?

I can’t vote because I want to win both and don’t mind losing every other game this month.

I think if colo starts, dummett will be alongside him and haidara on the left. I also see gouffy starting on the left, and cisse upfront with perez on the right.

    My team for Chelsea.

    Jan, Taylor, colo, dummet

    Tiote, colback

    Sissokho, Abeid, cabella

Abeid must keep his place and sissokho can play well on the right too so that solves that problem.
For me cabella MUST start as he is our only creTive player and he works his socks off.
Haidara is very unfortunate but a straight choice I just give to dummet.

Ps I don’t expect the team to be anything like that. That’s just my team.

If Sissoko/Janmaat get another yellow they miss the next game, be it PL or cup. I wouldn’t be surprised if Socks was trying to get suspended for the Burnley game then the foul on Carroll was an unfortunate accident. Should they both get booked in the next match and miss the Arsenal game, or leave it to chance?

sliema I think its the best tactics to get a result, if we get at them we will get battered, be compact, reduce space, close them down, and as the game gets stretched try and hit them on the break, and we also have to think about players that have been injured, like tiote and aarons, not pushing them too hard, i dont like sissoko on the right, he is better in the middle, but he offers good protection for janmaat,
